Whoa! I had looked at some early (EARLY!) models of this type of device, but decided to wait until the tech got better. Apparently, the tech got better FAST! It looks like that thing will do everything I wanted them to do...and more. Thanks, Bryan!

Good video I looked at these, price doesn't bother me it's the lack of solar for me. I don't want to have to carry extra crap to keep my watch charged, when I can just carry some AA for my GPS. You did a great job on this video as always. Keep the intro not being so structured is what keeps it real. I like your format and why I watch you reviews, most of the other channels feel like sales pitches.

Your intro is absolutely fine by me. I have the Casio Pro Trek PRW 2500-1B. It's not a smart watch, but I don't want a smart watch. Mine is a multi band solar powered watch. That has a digital compass, barometer, thermometer, altimeter, moon phase display, and high and low tide display. It also shows the month, day, year and the day of the week, 5 different alarms, a timer, a stopwatch. I don't need anymore than that. And it's less than $200. I am thinking of getting a Suunto watch though. Heck, it may ne my Christmas present to myself. Great video as always Bryan.

Great Video, thanks. My favorite watches are high end G-shocks but for outdoor purposes I have been using Polar/Suunto/Garmin over the past years. However I like the looks and overall functionality of the WSD-F30 very much. Do you have any idea if Casio is planning to upgrade the WSD-F30 with heart rate monitoring in the near future? If that would be included the WSD-F30 would be perfect outdoor watch choice for me. I don't like the F21 so much and will rather wait for WSD-F30 to possibly have the heart rate monitoring before moving to Pro Trek.

Also do they have a solar power charge feature?

Really cool watch...alas it's not my cup of tea regardless of price. Recently my phone that I rely on for time ran out of battery...not a normal occurrence but I thought my VPN would auto disconnect when I stopped the video. It did not. I felt lost when I woke up four hours later and the phone was off. Then I realized that I needed a good old fashion watch after 20 years of using cell phones. I am a date and time, self winding person....I wonder if they make simple stuff like this anymore? Is Timex still in business....Do they still take a licking and keep on ticking? Most of us watch you BECAUSE you'r a regular guy.

@ It was a non rhetorical question sir. Creative liberties in a world of people that cannot write in proper sentences. Perhaps I would inspire someone. To answer your question I have done a deep dive on watches and their quality. It seem to be a hit or miss regardless of manufacturer. Fun fact...a lot of watch reviewers seem to be from Australia and Canada. Since then I "Googled" a watch repair shop and got a part to replace on a watch from 1995....."Google" was not around then and the mall stores did not carry the part. I also whipped out a beautiful Seiko from 1982...just needed a battery. It has a crystal face without a scratch...not so much so on the the other one. You get what you pay for. I also use Duck Duck Go because "Google" is not dependable depending on subject matter. Another fun fact...I installed millions of dollars in communication equipment to expand "Google's" network. Yet another fun fact...other companies removed the same equipment from their network because it was made in China and they have many back doors to log into it from anywhere in the world.

$1650 in watches they just gave you? Show me that long. & lat.. LOL. I would need replacement bands too. Wish I could afford it. Another thing. If the battery finally died, do they have a replacement?

Because I speak English. Why would you watch a video that is obviously in English and complain because it is in English?

@@SurvivalOnPurpose don't get it either - nothing in the title is french. According to google a french version would be something like: "Examen initial de la montre intelligente GPS d'extérieur Casio Pro Trek WSD-F30" - close, but no cigar

How much does that smart phone cost? It is all about choices and what you want.
