It sends chills up my spine just listening to her incredible voice. Like her, it is stunningly beautiful. I could listen to her all day and love every minute.

I Love you Linda, I always have and I always will You are Forever in my Heart. I have enjoyed buying every album that you made! that I could find. Thank you for helping this middle child get through very difficult teenage years in the 70's. When I was 15 in 1976 I Absolutely went Nuts over "That'll be the Day" that song alone won you a Grammy. The year before 1975 "Prisoner in Disguise" came out Loved "The Sweetest Gift" song me and my 2 sisters learned it and sang it at our Family Christmas Parties, Thank you again and I Love you Linda Ronstadt. ❤❤

I hear her voice and I’m transported back to my youth and my first and only poster on my bedroom wall! Like Karen Carpenter she had a voice and look that has never been equalled...sublime...🤠❤️🎸
Jonathan Wallach I've seen several live appearances of Karen that were pitch perfect. I have heard that without a microphone you could barely hear her because she doesn't sing loud.
Why is this not released !?! This is such a powerful song. Sung only as a Linda Ronstadt can sing, so perfect, so lovely. I can't wait for her new documentary comes near me. I'll buy it. Drew Williams Graphic Artist/Photographer you may know already that you can buy the movie on Amazon and iTunes. I bought both, since I have fire TV I watch the Amazon version on the big screen.
Karla Bonoff wrote this and Ronstadt's 'Someone To Lay Down Beside Me'. Karla Bonoff and Wendy Waldman and Linda Ronstadt all sang on each other's albums and Wendy is also a songwriter. Anywho, they've done all kinds of things together, even live performances. They were all with same label. Their album art is even similar. ;) It's fun to compare their versions of songs.
Oh, my heart aches Deep inside me. Oh, how I miss you. Will you come back? Oh, why'd you leave me? Oh, what can I do? 'Cause every night I sit here by the phone. You know it rings a lot inside my head. I daydream you're home. I never knew that it would go this far. Come pick me up, I'm going down Like a falling star. And the clock strikes midnight And I'm lying here alone. I can't sleep, I hear my heartbeat Oh, I can't stand the monotone. And everyday I have paced the floor. You know it rains a lot inside my heart But I still ask for more. But now I know that love can leave a scar. Come pick me up, I'm going down Like a falling star. And when the birds fly south for awhile. Oh, I wish that I could go. Someone there might warm this cold heart, Oh, someone there might know. But everyday, I have paced the floor. You know it rains a lot inside my heart, But I still ask for more. Now I know that love can leave a scar. Come pick me up, I'm going down Like a falling star. Karla Bonoff's heartfelt songwriting, and Linda's beautiful voice....winning combination!
Karla's version is just as great.
Linda credits her father with having a great ear for a good song - something she clearly inherited.
oh wow right yes
@@nyrichiek Yes, it is magnificent. I bought it when it first came out, and still love it...every single song. Karla is fabulous!
If a man worked the phrasing around until he could write a song with lyrics about "goin' down," would you think it was as heartfelt?
Linda Ronstadt is perfection.
Oh I love this Karla Bonoff song so much!!!!
I had never heard this. I thought I had heard everything she ever did! She’s amazing and this is beautiful.
I’d never heard this, either, and I’ve been a big fan for a very long time. A great find on TH-cam on a rainy after - thanks!
This song was supposed to be on the Simple Dreams album. But Linda decided to cut it. However, this track is on her Box Set cd.
@@rgurtizathis doesn’t really fit the vibe of Simple Dreams, but this song is better than many she’s recorded since then, a shame it was scrapped.
I believe this song was written by Karla Bonoff, another amazing singer / writer. She actually wrote several beautiful songs such as this for Linda.
Add me to Linda"s fans that hadnt heard this song. Thanks

Hello, Frank, Karla Bonoff wrote this song, but I agree about Linda R. I hope things are going well for you. Regards, George Armstrong
I remember this song on Karla Bonoff's album I had in the 70's. Linda does a great rendition of her song.
Yes I have that album too. Linda did a few of Karla's songs.

Sensitive yet beautifully controlled vocal of a very fine Karla Bonoff song by the incomparable Linda Ronstadt. Running out of accolades.
