i absolutely adore the way some speedrunners name certain techniques. some of them are like: "okay, so what im gonna do is squeeze in this wall where it will try to find me and end up ejecting me from said wall at a high speed towards the end of the level. we call this 'the poopy butt stank mcdank skip.'"
I feel like Ganon doesn't get enough love in the comments - I love having her on the couch and loved her run in 2022! She's lots of fun and gives great commentary! I always come back to this run when I need something to watch, there's just so much to enjoy about it.

Obviously, hitting EVERY single trick in a marathon with no resets is as cool as it is unlikely to happen, and definitely a handful of misses here, but the back-up strategies and overall quality of movement, still very fun to watch.
Haven't watched the whole thing yet, do they ever explain why he's playing the game in Chinese? I've heard of people playing the original Japanese versions of games because the text goes faster, but I've not heard of people playing Chinese versions as a speedrunning strat.
It's for the same reason in this game Japanese (or any other language) has a couple more textboxes than Chinese most likely so they set the language to Chinese to save time
Notably it's not a different version in this case it's a language setting so they're using the digital/international version but in Chinese language settings

In Animal Crossing, events are based on real life time too, and thus you could change your Switch’s time to fast forward those events, similar to how it’s done in this run.

Setting the time, and jumping time back/forth to get what you need. A lot of content in Animal Crossing is timelocked to day/night/season cycles.
