Darth Malgus is one scary fellow. He is a brilliant military leader, expert duelist, and absolutely unstoppable, he really is the definition of the Sith Juggernaut. His immense willpower, tactical ingenuity(compared to other Sith) and self-control make him a real complete subversion to the brute archetype
loved the "Bulq is f*cking screwed!" that's honesty i haven't heard much in any of these vs series! truthfully, i thought your comment about Malgus being a "goddamn tank!" was honest, but dropping the "F" bomb, AWESOME!
Malgus has demonstrated the ability to force choke three Jedi simultaneously, breaking their force shields, and still fight a fourth Jedi with his lightsaber and the force. Food for thought.
Soresu and Makashi are about utilizing minimal motion for greatest effect. Many of their moves lack the sheer momentum to risk a lightsaber from moving out of control. Additionally, when going against other styles that utilize a lot of momentum, it provides an advantage in that now the opponent must expend a lot of energy to reign in their blade, which is being consistently deflected in directions they do not desire by the more defensive and precise styles, hence why Soresu wins by attrition.
Ok, I am not surprised at this win it was obvious to me. Darth Malgus, a Jedi hunter who fought in a war where Jedi and Sith engaged each other on a regular basis, combat skills with Lightsabers was a given. Honestly I would say that the Jedi from this time period on average were far more accomplished in this area then any of the standard Jedi in later periods. With the exceptions of those like Palpatine, Windu, Yoda, Obi-Wan, and Darth Vader, I would give the edge in swordsmanship to any of the Jedi from the Old Republic area.
I agree, they were much more battle hardened against actual opponents vs droids and storm troopers and had more time to refine themselves for actual combat.
Exactly lets think about it. The Jedi of Sora Bulq's age rarely if ever engaged a foe wielding a lightsaber the exceptions were Obi-wan, Mace Windu, Shaak Ti, Vader, and a few others. Where as someone from Malgus's time fought other Duelists all the fucking time. Anytime you went into battle there was a damn good chance you were going to fight other Force users.
Additionally, any swordfighter will expound the usefulness of physical strength, and not only for wielding a weapon quickly. Using the broad slashes characteristic of Shii-Cho, the ferocity of Shien, and the inherent lethality of the lightsaber, Malgus creates a large, effective killing arc that is hazardous even if blocked. The large area makes it difficult to dodge, and the strength of his arm makes blocking the blow difficult. It may even be enough to open you up for a killing blow.
Right at the beginning you say that the Sith Empire invaded the Republic in 3981 BBY. This date is shortly before the time of the Mandalorian Wars. Malgus wouldn't be born for another 300 years or so.
MrAmericanMapper No, the identity of the people who killed him isn't established in EU canon, since both the republic and empire players have access to the flashpoint where you kill him at the end.
Every time i watch one of your Star Wars VS videos i always end up thinking "holy mother of god, this guy has insane knowledge of the Star Wars universe". Its near damn awesome that you know all of these things. Thanks for your videos and keep up the good work ;)
As simple minded as it sounds, I do think Darth Malgus vs. Darth Vader would be very good match up. Malgus is thought as a pale copy of Vader, and where there is a definite connection of inspiration, he's a power house in his own right. Vader might be thought as a light weight since his main appearance is in the movie with 20th century special effects. Jensaarai1's past video's, though, blow that concept out of the water and pulled the EU info together to show just how deadly the Dark Lord is.
I really like the part where you explain your theory on his use of Form V, I also believe he uses Form V with a lot of Form VII incorporated into his own style
Also, Anakin overspecialized in offense But while Vader may never have what he could have had as Skywalker, Vader learned from his mistakes and rebuilt his methods completely A good example off the top of my head I think, was his duel against Luke at Cloud city, Vader displayed methods and techniques I doubt Anakin Skywalker would have even thought of considered, like when he clashed with Luke, but then started throwing many objects at him from all directions with Telekinesis
Just wanted to say Ive enjoyed all your vids ive watched they are all well thought out and backed by tons of research which im sure took a fair about of time thank you for all the effort you put in :)
Revans abilities are daunting, for what little I know, but if he was pitted against such adversaries as Palpatine or Darth Bane, that might well be very interesting, I totally agree. Looking forward to such a video, if it is made :)
Your conclusions are well thought out and have good sources to back it up. I must say that I do agree that Malgus would win, but I do feel that Bulq would at least be able to drive Malgus back with his frenzied barrage while Malgus holds out until Bulq gives an opening and then... GORECK!
One small correction Malgus actually broke off and declared himself emperor after Vitiate's death. This empire he lead was more accepting toward aliens and other species so that a more unified empire of his could outclass the original weakened Sith Empire.
I guess I agree, but Revan practiced potent light side and dark side abilities: as a Jedi, he was aknowledged as a skilled warrior and the most powerful jedi of his time; as a Sith he recorded spells of great magnitude in his holocron, which suggests he knew how to use them. Such an applyance still is an incredible feat, althought you can't consider it as a pure mastery.
"Revan was extraordinarily powerful in the Force. Revan's command of the Force had reached to such a degree that he could channel both the light and dark sides of the Force simultaneously for strength; making him highly unpredictable and overwhelming in combat situations." on the other hand it is known that luke created duelling patterns (predictability), and revan was pre-cognitive.as a martial artist, i can tell you that even just that is enough to give the edge to revan... just arguin'! :)
He IS back. I cant remember but I think they showed a small clip in Comic Con or somewhere else of the eternal emperor ( the one in the Knights of The Fallen Empire cinematic) having Malgus frozen in carbonite.
Right before the Battle of Fondor, Luke made Caedus "see" a fleet of ships, causing him to panic in front of his navy. Luke directed it right at Caedus in general, to show him what he could do and also to scare Caedus. Luke revealed to Jaina Solo that he was capable of perceiving Shatterpoints, a very rare Force ability. Also, Luke reached a state of oneness.
Would love to see a Malgus vs Lord Scourage video, Maybe Darth Sion vs Obi-Wan, Darth Thanaton vs Exar Kun, or Even Qui Gon vs Malgus or Scourage... Just some thoughts
Hi Jensaarai1, I was more of a fan of sora bulq before he turned to the dark side, and I feel he was much more effective before his fall to the dark side. and I was hoping to see him in more of your versus series videos. A really good video in my opinion, Sora bulq vs Tera sinube or Ashared Hett as these are some of my favs, i think these characters are very interesting despite not being heavily featured. love your video's, you do an amazing job, keep up the good work.
the one thing Id be worried about is kind of the visual sorces you get from this Malgeus's fights, were all competer animated so they could REALLY make the fights better than back in the Day where we saw Vader, but other than small things like that This was fun! and your arguments were reasonable.
That's what I was hoping to hear. :) Still it would be interesting to see a video with grand master Luke Skywalker. Considering his vast knowledge and impressive force capabilities.
You are a cool guy jensaari , I feel like you would be a grand master in the jedi council , also your comentary is awesome . You have in creased my knowledge of the force with your vids also you have increased my knowledge of lightsabser combat . I would like to thank you and keep up the good work , by the way you should do a vid of Luke skywalker vs the emperor
Holy snap!!! I just wrote an article to your other Malgus Versus Video and this comes out today?! HA! Nice! Love your work man!!! My article is on SWTORStrategies, "Darth Malgus Versus Count Dooku DEATHMATCH"
I love your videos. Could you do Darth Sion vs Darth Vader and or duku vs sidius oh ventris against the sith that jengo killed would be interesting or ventris against traya
(part 2) Plus should Revan use both the light & dark side powers against Sidious (even though the latter knows possibly more dark powers than Revan, he might need time to build them up but in a pitched battle, it's unlikely so Sidious might stick to his basic dark powers), it's likely that Sidious would be caught off-guard for a moment. Plus Revan is a pretty good master swordsman as well.
I have a feeling Vader can match Malgus' saber skills, but Malgus' skill in Lightning might turn the match in his favor, especially since his cybernetics aren't vulnerable to Lightning but Vader's are
Very potent force powers, incredible lightsaber feats, advanced mastery of Light and Darkness, unique status in the history of the Sith Order... yeah, two battle monsters. Darth Revan, Darth Bane and Darth Sidious are to my mind three of the true architects and dark lords of the Sith.
Hello Jensaari, I love your videos. You make star wars nerds like me feel like i'm not so alone. But I believe a good video would be Darth Traya vs Darth Sidious.
I like the way you used video clips to demonstrate Malgus' lightsaber feats... I only wished you had shown Vader's feats in your other versus series, because Vader has shown very few. Please do a Malgus versus Vader comparison.
I think Galen gets the win. He bested Vader quite thoroughly, and Jensaarai declared Vader superior to Malgus. While this doesn't prove anything, the fact that Malgus and Vader's styles are similar would give him an edge.
Josh Campbell Exactly. If Vader could beat Malgus, maybe Galen Marek could. But that's the whole point of requests to this channel: to see who would win.
anything with the jedi from the new jedi order would be nice to see. I understand there is not much visually but its your opinion that I like with all your versus series. You should hook up with evannova95 or greyjedi again. You do great work!!
On his hands he wore black gloves, the right glove being a Mandalorian crushgaunt fitted around one of Lord Kaan's indestructible Sith amulets, and modified to include grip augmentation circuitry
i'll agree with u for pretty much all of that, the only exception i would make is such a small after heearing Bolq's bio and wouldnt change the outcome
I agree Jensaari is a very knowledgeable Star Wars fan (practically a walking dictionary of Star Wars knowledge, its really amazing just how much he knows and how he presents it) But, Jensaari here is a Sith sympathizer =P
The only "problem I see with this is about the lightsabers, even if weequay have thick skin, Malgus's handle is still effectively a meat cleaver/axe when driven by an arm as strong as Malgus's. I loved that "you are a child to anger" bit :)
@Jensaaria1 I love tgr videos you upload, from verse to history of the light sabers and even styles. Now my question is this, how is it the secret apprentice can hold off and even kill a lot of storm troopers in his own but during order 66 many Jedi had fallen so easily in the Jedi temple
Don't ever stop making these videos. They're too good and you are the only person I know that has PROPER knowledge of the whole saga. :D
Lmao. The “proper knowledge” , yeah right kid.
You spoke well my friend :) I think Darth Malgus is seriously lacking the recognition he deserves!
Caeric kylo vs a person
loved the "Bulq is f*cking screwed!" that's honesty i haven't heard much in any of these vs series! truthfully, i thought your comment about Malgus being a "goddamn tank!" was honest, but dropping the "F" bomb, AWESOME!
Malgus has demonstrated the ability to force choke three Jedi simultaneously, breaking their force shields, and still fight a fourth Jedi with his lightsaber and the force.
Food for thought.
No force can defeat me, you are decieved
*deceived.
when on the defensive, Malgus buckled down and tanked up
Me-Juggernauts ftw!
Soresu and Makashi are about utilizing minimal motion for greatest effect. Many of their moves lack the sheer momentum to risk a lightsaber from moving out of control. Josh Campbell yes, so the opposition was much more evened out. If you came back from those battlefields you were a truly skilled and proven warrior.
Exactly!!
"Then Bulq is fucking screwed" lolol couldn't have said it any better. Love coming back and watching these vids.
to this day I REALLY wish Bio would have done more in game with Malgus. I really wish he had won his rebellion. What a visionary!
***** where can i find this?
Well onslaught now exists
In other words Sora merely adopted the dark side Maulgus was born to it!
I am about to watch this and I already know Malgus is going to rip Sora a new asshole.
Darth Malgus vs Starkiller (Dark Clone)
Starit out man
Shae Vizla vs Boba fett!
Two bounty hunters who only appear for like, 5 seconds and are some of the coolest star wars characters ever.
Additionally, any swordfighter will expound the usefulness of physical strength, and not only for wielding a weapon quickly. MrAmericanMapper No, the identity of the people who killed him isn't established in EU canon, since both the republic and empire players have access to the flashpoint where you kill him at the end.
Shawn Cowden But doesn't the sith warrior have a story arc where they fight Malgus after Illum? Kinda like the Inquisitor and Revan?
MrAmericanMapper What? Neither Malgus nor Revan have specific interactions with the Warrior or Inquisitor afaik
JKSentinel was my old YT account before merge with google btw lol
Every time i watch one of your Star Wars VS videos i always end up thinking "holy mother of god, this guy has insane knowledge of the Star Wars universe". Its near damn awesome that you know all of these things. Thanks for your videos and keep up the good work ;)

I really liked that intro you did in this video. With the BattleStar Galactica music as the Versus came onto the screen.
very well done! looking forward to watching the whole series.
I really like the part where you explain your theory on his use of Form V,
I also believe he uses Form V with a lot of Form VII incorporated into his own style
A big difference is that Malgus was born a sith and Bulq was not.
Also, Anakin overspecialized in offense

The winner seems a little too obvious to me.
MALGUS MALGUS
Your conclusions are well thought out and have good sources to back it up. I must say that I do agree that Malgus would win, but I do feel that Bulq would at least be able to drive Malgus back with his frenzied barrage while Malgus holds out until Bulq gives an opening and then... GORECK!

i enjoyed the video, very informative. i look forwards to watch your other video's
I love these videos please go in depth with malgus vs bane both are supreme sith
I guess I agree, but Revan practiced potent light side and dark side abilities: as a Jedi, he was aknowledged as a skilled warrior and the most powerful jedi of his time; as a Sith he recorded spells of great magnitude in his holocron, which suggests he knew how to use them. Ya know, I'm gonna take a minute of my life to thumbs up every one of these videos
Love your work, i have learnt so much please keep it up i love this history =)
I should be very clear: YOU DO FANTASTIC WORK.
Im really glad you are not among those like evannova95 who seem to have a bias against gaming characters.
EVAN IS ÞŘÏĞĞĚŘĐ
Thank you for another video Jensaarai1. You are the man.
Awesome video man!! Very well presented arguements...i agree on all fronts! :)
"Revan was extraordinarily powerful in the Force. Revan's command of the Force had reached to such a degree that he could channel both the light and dark sides of the Force simultaneously for strength; making him highly unpredictable and overwhelming in combat situations."
on the other hand it is known that luke created duelling patterns (predictability), and revan was pre-cognitive.as a martial artist, i can tell you that even just that is enough to give the edge to revan... just arguin'! :)
We need Malgus back! Hes the most badass sith out there, Malgus=awesomenessss!! ;)
He IS back. I cant remember but I think they showed a small clip in Comic Con or somewhere else of the eternal emperor ( the one in the Knights of The Fallen Empire cinematic) having Malgus frozen in carbonite.

Would love to see a Malgus vs Lord Scourage video, Maybe Darth Sion vs Obi-Wan, Darth Thanaton vs Exar Kun, or Even Qui Gon vs Malgus or Scourage... Just some thoughts
Exar kun vs Satele Shan would be a interesting fight
. both who are Double-bladed lightsaber fighters and both are skilled in the use of the force.
I know this is a five year old comment, but Kun takes it imo
i feel like no matter who you pit him against, in a 1v1 lightsaber duel, malgus' quick thinking will be an incredible variable.
Hi Jensaarai1, I was more of a fan of sora bulq before he turned to the dark side, and I feel he was much more effective before his fall to the dark side.

nice work jen! Love these videos
Vader vs malgus battle of the tanks. Love these videos
keep them coming. love these videos
I don't remember how i ended up on that video but id don't regret it . It was quite detailed and informative.
I'm definitely going to like a Versus Series Video involving Palpatine/Sidious!
the one thing Id be worried about is kind of the visual sorces you get from this

Don't know if you'll see this, but a Versus match with Darth Jadus would be very good video IMO.
I love your videos. Could you do Darth Sion vs Darth Vader and or duku vs sidius oh ventris against the sith that jengo killed would be interesting or ventris against traya
Why does he keep saying "JOO-YA" ... isn't it "JOO-YO"
Like the Battlestar music, fitting for the Old Sith Empire
Excellent versus again Jensaarai keep em comin :D
(part 2) Plus should Revan use both the light & dark side powers against Sidious (even though the latter knows possibly more dark powers than Revan, he might need time to build them up but in a pitched battle, it's unlikely so Sidious might stick to his basic dark powers), it's likely that Sidious would be caught off-guard for a moment. Plus Revan is a pretty good master swordsman as well.
Would be nice to hear a bit about darth revan since he's on of the strongest jedi/sith , really really enjoy your videos by the way, very good work
Do a Darth Sidious vs. Naga Sadow next, please Jensaarai1? Something about a fight between the two powerful Sith Lords just sounds awesome.
Excellent work, saw just for more info about vaapad, already knew the result ;D
ITS COMING FROM THE FRACKING SHIP!!! Nice vid man.
Great Video man!
Awesome video as always! :)
wow :) I doubt the creators of those characters put as much thought into them as you have. anyway, I liked it, subscribing now.
I have a feeling Vader can match Malgus' saber skills, but Malgus' skill in Lightning might turn the match in his favor, especially since his cybernetics aren't vulnerable to Lightning but Vader's are
next vs vid: Vader vs. Malgus. damn that would be exciting to analyze and watch
You have MY FAVORITE TH-cam PAGE!!!
Malgus seems like one of the scariest dark siders in the whole of starwars.
Another Great One!! Thanks dude1
Very potent force powers, incredible lightsaber feats, advanced mastery of Light and Darkness, unique status in the history of the Sith Order... yeah, two battle monsters. Darth Revan, Darth Bane and Darth Sidious are to my mind three of the true architects and dark lords of the Sith.

from which comic books have you taken the images of sora bulq from? :)
What do you think your next versus video will involve? I love your versus videoes!
Would you mind doing a versus series on Windu and Yoda?
Perfect video.
Great Video! I agree with the verduct.
All really good match-ups.
Good vid. Now i want to see Malgus vs vader.
I have nothing to say other than .....awesome malgus is the victor cool
Spoiler?
i saw it coming though
Malgus is one of my favorite sith from the swtor game
***** I hear you love Darth nihilus
***** Darth bane rocks that is a really good one too the whole series blew me away
Obi-Wan (Episode 3) vs Darth Malgus.
Galen Marek/Starkiller vs Darth Malgus
Obi-Wan (Episode 3) vs Darth Vader
I think Galen gets the win. He bested Vader quite thoroughly, and Jensaarai declared Vader superior to Malgus. While this doesn't prove anything, the fact that Malgus and Vader's styles are similar would give him an edge.
Rathorage Galen beat Vader because of his force powers not his skills with a lightsaber.
Josh Campbell
Exactly. If Vader could beat Malgus, maybe Galen Marek could. But that's the whole point of requests to this channel: to see who would win.
True. I would like to see Marek go up against Mace Windu.
Josh Campbell
That could be a fun fight to see. Darth Vader would destroy Windu.
Man a Plo Koon vs Kit Fisto, or any other prequel era master would be awesome.
Sora might have fallen into form 7 and has went mad, Malgus would probably still beat him down.
One pimp slap and he dead
anything with the jedi from the new jedi order would be nice to see. I understand there is not much visually but its your opinion that I like with all your versus series. You should hook up with evannova95 or greyjedi again. You do great work!!
great video
BRO!:) i am learning so much from u i thank u my friend!
where are the scenes from the beginning from?
On his hands he wore black gloves, the right glove being a Mandalorian crushgaunt fitted around one of Lord Kaan's indestructible Sith amulets, and modified to include grip augmentation circuitry
Great job
This would be a fun match to watch in real life though
i'll agree with u for pretty much all of that, the only exception i would make is such a small after heearing Bolq's bio and wouldnt change the outcome
I agree Jensaari is a very knowledgeable Star Wars fan (practically a walking dictionary of Star Wars knowledge, its really amazing just how much he knows and how he presents it)
But, Jensaari here is a Sith sympathizer =P
Awesome video another like
Can you please make a top 10 video for jedi, sith and one mixed. I want to see your opinion on who's the strongest :)
The only "problem I see with this is about the lightsabers, even if weequay have thick skin, Malgus's handle is still effectively a meat cleaver/axe when driven by an arm as strong as Malgus's. I loved that "you are a child to anger" bit :)
Darth Noxx vs the emperor's wrath would be a awesome one imo
@Jensaaria1 I love tgr videos you upload, from verse to history of the light sabers and even styles. Now my question is this, how is it the secret apprentice can hold off and even kill a lot of storm troopers in his own but during order 66 many Jedi had fallen so easily in the Jedi temple
