  • Learn to Reborn with this step by step process. Step one will show you how to add depth to the vinyl kit by adding blue undertones. You will need a clean, unpainted vinyl doll kit, vein blue genesis heat set paints, thinning liquid, and a few paintbrushes and a blending sponge for this step.

    You had me at the music. That was the song we played at our wedding while the hubby and kids were walking down the aisle before me. Love

    You manage to show in around 10 minutes a video what everybody else takes and hour and a half to show. Following you I feel I can finally get started. Thanks so much. I’ve watched so many videos and never felt like I could start!

      Yes. I’m unpacking currently from our recent move, as soon as I’m unpacked and can think straight again I’d be happy to do a video on mixing the paints. Thank you for the suggestion.

    Hello! I'm very new to this process and I was wondering if this same process would work on an older baby reborn doll? I'm not sure if there's a big difference between newborn skin and the skin of a 7 month old baby. Thank you for your wonderful tutorials!

    Do you neutralize your kits before this step? Or you just skipped that step because this kit was no as peachy??

    • @enchantedkreaturekitsencha9919
      @enchantedkreaturekitsencha9919  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t find it necessary to neutralize the vinyl of modern kits. It already comes in the perfect base color.

    Thank you so much for sharing this tutorial, it's helping me achieve the look that I want. I do have one question (so far), which layers are you baking after? Are there any layers that can be done without baking between the layers? Thanks!

    • @enchantedkreaturekitsencha9919
      @enchantedkreaturekitsencha9919  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      c_anders that’s a great question that I usually forget to answer on video.
      As a rule I bake after any given layer that puts down detail that I don’t want accidentally messed up on the next layer.
      In the beginning I can get most of the mottling layers done before baking. But anytime I do a wash I make sure to back between those.
      If you have 2-4 layers of mottling and need a wash layer next always bake first. Washes will smear off your mottling and look poopy.

    Hi, first let me thank you for sharing. I have no experience in rebounding at all. I'm about to start on a starter reborn and wanted to know if you mixed thinner with the undertone blue and if so, what is the ratio between the two? As well as the ratio for thinner and vein blue. Also, can this undertone be used for an African reborn baby? Thank you so much

    • @enchantedkreaturekitsencha9919
      @enchantedkreaturekitsencha9919  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I do mix thinner with all the colors. Unless I’m painting a fantasy baby that needs thicker paint or brighter color. But even then I still add at least a few drops of thinner.
      The ratio is hard to explain because I never remember to measure out quantities. It’s usually a squirt of thinner and a few paint brush swipes of color until it gets to an opacity that works on the kits.

    Please, I'm new to the art and I live in Brazil, you do not apply the flesh to skin tone? I really need to know, thank you and your work is beautiful.

    • @enchantedkreaturekitsencha9919
      @enchantedkreaturekitsencha9919  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I do not do the skin tone layer unless I’m trying to make a very pale skin tone. I find them unnecessary when the vinyl starts out so light these days. In the olden days the vinyl came very pink and the light skin tone was needed to make them look more normal looking. Back around 2009-2010 the vinyl started coming in lighter colors making that layer not needed.

    • @enchantedkreaturekitsencha9919
      @enchantedkreaturekitsencha9919  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Davi Japinha I do not put down a base coat of flesh color. I find it’s not necessary with vinyl this color.

    My kit looks pinkish,so I was going to give it a green wash...should I do this step first?

    • @enchantedkreaturekitsencha9919
      @enchantedkreaturekitsencha9919  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ana Luz Valentin yes. If you are starting with an older kit that is pinker or more orange then it’s good to start on the neutralizing layers first.
      It doesn’t have to be brought all the way back to the cream color. You can definitely use some of that pink color in your natural mottling layers.
