I can totally agree with you that doctors have less time to spend with patient nowadays. Radiologists are also reporting scan like a printing machine. This has made ED physician and internal medicine physician having to double CT images with the report to make sure they are accurate. We need better staffing and resources to improve quality of healthcare.
I don't enjoy geriatric care, and am considering paediatrics for many of the reasons you are Kenji. I do not mind complexity, but there is often a lack of impetus to get well among the geriatric population - failure to engage with physios, failure to plan ahead with regard to arrangements for care, failure to improve their own health in primary care because they feel they're too old to exercise (no matter the intensity), etc. There seems to be this impression that the state will provide no matter the circumstance. And that it's acceptable for them to wallow in hospital, sometimes for months at a time, until arrangements are made for them. The system failing around us makes this all the more frustrating to be on the front end of. I want to work with patients who want to be well & are positive about their care. While much that I have seen thus far is anecdotal, I wonder at what point the body of evidence before me becomes large enough to justify the broad stroke many have used when making conclusions about this field.
Kenji do you use NHS dentistry or go private? Never needed much treatment so used NHS as a kid and at university just for check ups, cleaning, whitening etc. As an adult always just paid dental check up and work in US when on business there - personaly feel dentistry is better there. Although, back in UK now and seems nearly all dental clinics gone private so difficult to register. Do you recommend a private dental plan to use multiple offices or do you just register private with an individual office based on their reviews?
Sir,I am Undergraduate med school student in georgia. My university is listed in overseas qualification we may accept in GMC website. Can I eligible to write plab or mrcp exam and take GMC registration. Pls reply sir
Thanks for your question! If your university is listed on the GMC website, you can typically apply for the PLAB exam for GMC registration. For the MRCP, you’ll need to complete foundation training first. Always check the GMC’s official site for the latest info. Good luck!
