Watch until the end for good karma!
David I need a favor from you I need you to stop saying Mexico has an influence in Belize when it comes to tacos. Listen closely to this. The Mayans invented the corn tortilla and the first ever Taco was the cochinita pibil created by the Mayans .. so any place that has or had Mayans will have tacos. Tacos doesn't belong to Mexico it belongs to the Mayans.
👍 THAT IS MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT. 👍💯👍💯👍💯👍💯
Hey is not Rana 🐸 is our coqui!!🇵🇷💪🏼❤️
Ahahaaaa yup el coquiii de puerto rico
sapo
I love this. Thanks for showing up the food of my parents' island. I grew up on this food. I love it. I have been to all of these places you showcased on your edition of your program. We are strong and proud people. Thank you.😊😊😊😊

Boricua is an actitud it’s a filling of
Belong,a love for your country.
Beautiful food Beautiful people the cook is easy on the eyes..
I can’t believe that so many Puerto Ricans don’t even know where the name Boricua comes from. The term comes from the Taino Indians that used to call the island of Puerto Rico Borikén (Borinquen) Prior to the arrival of the Spaniards in 1493 - which means “Land of the Valiant and Noble Lord.”
Boricua!!
Ignorance is bliss. They don't even teach Latino history in America unless it's Mexican or something. Gringos are obsessed with Mexicans but disregard all the other Latino cultures like we don't exist. 😒🙄🥺
Did you know that most people in different countries don't really know where their language came from? Americans don't really know where their language comes from.
that's the reason why pr is not independent the lack of knowledge and balls and willingness to work instead of being the biggest welfare recipients in the USA, and not throwing hate just stating the facts!
That place has to be there for 100 more years.
I'm going to the island in two weeks. It's been too many years but I'm ready. ¡Vamos pa la playa y a comer bien! -Bory Negron🇵🇷😎
Grew up eating arroz con gandules but my family makes it with green olives added and a choice of meat (pork chop, pepperoni, or chicken)
I heard her mention olives at 21:10
Oh nice I missed that
Naaaice! You went to Bajareque! I didn't see any Puerto Ricans in the back whenever I went. I had a horrible experience at Mofongo. I never went back. The waiters were just flat out rude, the fried steak was super dry and inedible. We literally couldn't eat it. The only thing that tasted good was the mofongo. But even then it wasn't spectacular. Just good. I haven't tried the Bori Food truck!
I love PR food. Especially Bacalao and mofongo.
Love mofongo and puerto rico so much!❤
If its good ole traditionally made, then its that good😝🤪😋
David - unrelated but when I was in Miami about 10 years ago, I came across the Holocaust memorial. I’ve seen many all over the world but this one was the most emotional, beautiful and incredible memorial to it that I’ve ever seen and experienced. Would be amazing if you could do a video going to see it. I remember how utterly floored I was by it. ❤
I’m in Palm Beach county so would love to go see it all though I’d probably be very emotional..
@@Peace12105 I still think of it to this day - never have I seen anything like it; surprised it was Miami where the most emotional/incredible memorial was. It has music and everything. It’s so well thought out.
David, your content is amazing!!! You’ve mastered the art of connecting with your viewers!!!
Thank you so much asamuel! I truly appreciate you saying that.
David’ speaks perfect Spanish, very impressed.

Thank you so much man. I hope you get to escape somewhere warm at least for a bit? Thankfully its almost summer so it should be heating up for you guys over there. Bless up to you to too man. And hey, Brighton is not too far at least? lol.
I am enjoying the video and also eating the last four salt fish (codfish) fritters or as we Jamaicans call it “Flitters” I fried a couple days ago.
Me encantó, pero creo q el segundo q probaste fue el mas suave de todos los mofongos y la carne frita se veía sabrosa sobre el. El flan de coco a otro nivel y cremoso como debe ser un flan. Bravo por ellos
Gracias Janet! Feliz fin de semana!
Very nice
Im from PR, I dont put Mayo-ketchup on everything, mostly on burgers. Totones, mofongo, most fried stuff with garlic olive oil.
I find many boricuas are copycats.... I mean that sauce is a knock off thousand island dressing
@@junedaisy707 Kinda. Mayo-ketchup is eaten is lots of LatinAmerican countries, they call it "Salsa Rosada".
I dont like commercial mayo-ketchup, doesnt taste like straight up mayo mix with ketchup. Companies add other seasonings and, to me, tastes weird.
I like that Pionono empanada!!👌🩷
Coño definitely have to check some of these spots, i have been here in Miami for many years and havent foind any restaurant Boricua that do it like us in the island. Pero vamos a ver...
Yes for Puerto Rico being such a small island, it has lots and lots of Talented people. With that comes our fair share of crooked politicians. 🤣
When I head down to Miami, From NYC. I will make sure to stop by. Bring my son, wife and daughter in-law and probably a few friends. Thanks for sharing.
You should cover Miami more, David? There's so much good eats there🏝..the best Fusion type restaurants..etc.
Tons more Miami coverage coming soon! Its my home and where I do the most videos!
I love ur channel l only eat moyo ketchup with sorullos de queso and carne frita
Estuve en mofongo y la comida estuvo súper rica
😂 Spanglish, YELP 😂❤
Love your content just found out about you today but I’m on your shit now lol subscribed 😎
Welcome and thank you Christian Pena!!!
So many times I've seen you point out the African influence in some Caribbean cuisine and the room always gets quite 😂😂😂
I should not have watched when im hungry!
My Arroz Con Gandules is the best. No one can beat my flavor. No one!!!! Lol
My mommmmm works thereeee
Wepa🧔🏽♂️🇵🇷
Eso es lo mío bacalaitos y alcapurrias🇵🇷❤👍✌️🇵🇷
❤
For me is the food truck 🛻
First of all Puerto Ricans are a melting pot of 3 cultures. First the Taino Indian which was in Puerto Rico first, before Columbus, who acts like he discovered everything but didn't , ppl were already there the Taino when he left, Puerto Rico he left the Spaniards there with some Africans and that's how all 3 cultures mixed. . Now for the specific food David was eating you cannot compare mofongo with fufu, fufu is Casava steamed or boiled and mashed with no flavor what's so ever... mofongo is fried plantain mashed with garlic olive oil some used butter and then The meats like shrimp , fried pork chunks or the beef..and alcapuria is a banana and y yuca masa fried with meat and the last the PASTEL is ground grown veggies like yuca, green bananas, and pumpkin shredded into a paste put on a banana leaf with the savory meat in the middle we use annato seeds to color and flavor the oil we use in Pastel, and empanadas was invented in the united states because of pastelillos!!! So much more food that's authentic like ensalada de papas and pollo guisado etc!!!! And we don't eat mayo Ketchup with everything especially not mofongo with the caldo and or more garlic in olive oils sauce or el mojo mayo Ketchup is used for fried stuff like steak sandwiches and tostones or alcapuria for bacalaito more like pique it cuts on the grease of it!!!!!
Well SAID!! 👍👏👏👏🎉
Facts
Trust me Puerto Rico it's a melting pot of more than 3 cultures have ever heard of the royal decree of grace?
You go girl.
You have your history in perfect order.
Well said 😊
Huh? Fufu isn't supposed to have flavor because it's supposed to come together as one from whatever meat and sauces are being consumed. Second, you have African culture as well in Puerto Rico not just taino. Also, all those foods and your language have influences from mainly Spain and the Caribbean. Shut your closed minded ass up.
Bruh, you all need to go easy on the man 😆 he is just trying to learn some things from everyone. Relax lol. The beauty of knowing people from different cultures is interesting. I myself am learning about Cuban foods by a friend we have from Cuba and he is learning some Boricua words but we don't be in each other's necks just because we don't know something about another neighboring country. Respect for the Puerto Rican, Cuban and Dominican brothers and sisters!
🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
El Fufu Cubano si lleva Chicharrones y Carne de Puerco 🙂
Mayoketchup does go well with almost everything but typicaly Alcapurias or Bacalaitos are not eathen with the sauce
Best mofongo used to be Benny's Seafood Restaurant 😋 so sad wen they closed
Gringo deja el show tu as venido a pr y as comido de to no te agas el más impresionado 😝😝😝😝
I love Puerto Rican food and J Lo speak Spanish.
weppaa
Amd David ..Where are you From ???

Where da morcilla? Where da relleno de papa? :(
Pitbull
I wonder Mr.Hoffmann if you went to ARGENTINA...yet???
yes i have!
He is been all over
La masa de bacalaito le falta sazonnnn🥹
Haha unicorn because she talks 2 language Maby in the usa is that something haha. In Europa we al talk multiple languages
It wasn’t about language. It was referring to her being born in Miami. It’s called being a unicorn when someone is actually born in a major city where the majority of people have relocated there. He was saying it was rare. Austin is another example. And MANY Americans speak multiple languages. We have a lot of cultural diversity and learn growing up AND they even teach us in school.
You are the coolest guy on the internet.
How are gringo? Your southern American dude
What is your favorite latin food from what country?
One more thing they keep calling it mayo catchup it's called machu sause
Coño leave the mayoketchup alone lol mofongo is eaten with the caldo de pollo. We dont use mayoketchup in everything. Actually u DONT ever put mayoketchup on alcapurria either. Pique yes...
Exactly! I never put on alcapurrias…only on my tostones y lo surullitos de Maiz.
I personally like Mofongo with sweet plantain, I don't like the Classic green plantain mofongo? It's tasteless to me..🤔 I'm Cuban.
EUROPE
Arroz con habichuelas y carne guisa y aguacate y paencima.
hey and we puertoricans are americans since 1719 not no 3rd world state my people food damn well on my dad side dang i am Honduran the h is sient i hate it when ya add the h my dad try too live in miami he moved too oakland park i am stuck since i was 1 years old in 1991 my birth year so many child hood foods i used too have but since i am 32 years old i cannot have it anymore
Puertorican arroz con Gandules it’s similar to African Jollof Rice. Good video brother! Thank you 🙏
Arroz con gandules comes from Andalusia , Espana!😊❤🎉
It is not like Jill of rice not spicy and it has pigeon pease made with the foundation sofrito aceite de oliva and caldo de pollo or agua and a packet of sazon and cooking ham very different flavors!!
Ay Virgen Santa ahora todo es Africano. El jollof nada que ver con Arroz con gandules. Y tampoco he visto un Español haciendo arroz con gandules.🙄
cuban cuise is close to Puerto Rican
Why you comparing everything like enjoy the food puertorican food is incomparable ✍️🇵🇷.. Enjoy🫡
You sound like one of those close minded Puerto Ricans. All that food y'all eat is influenced in other places especially Spain, cut it out.
Nope not for me using utz chicharon😂😅 getto
with all due respect is it me or does nobody seem excited to see you or be on camera?
Our things is ours. Don't compare... Also, everything you don't dip it. Please. Ask how you are going to eat it.
If you are born in the Estado de Puerto Rico you can't vote in the general Presidential election, but you can vote for the primaries, also if you are born in the State of Puerto Rico you can run for president of the Unites States.
LIMPIEN EL ACEITE QUE SUCIO ESTA
We're is this place Adress please
This was a good review but the person that holding the microphone needs a stick to hold and not be in the face of you two guys doing the review.
Rice and pigeon peas isn't african!
Are you pit bulls or barbárico 😂😂😂🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷
That whole comment you made comparing Dominican artists to Puerto Rican artists was not only unnecessary but also divisive. Would you have made that comment when speaking to a Hondorian about El Salvador? or an Italian talking about a French? What was the point? So disappointing! Do better, be better!
Dominicans make kippes , try Dominican food next
Na he be trolling us he went to Dominica instead 😂😂
All those restaurants at the little havana calle 8 are a rip off...very over priced...!
Jlo doesn’t speak Spanish
All these food originated from Afri ca especially plantain, cassava and yam. Africans fry and boil their plantain as well.
They are not p, rican especially the food look bad, and the oil is old😢
