I spent my life and career working for the US National Park Service as a Ranger. These places do exist. I have seen them. Please protect the wilderness, we lose more every day. I have retired now, and my wife of 50 years and together found our own peace.
7:39 There are so many powers determined to destroy this world for a few bucks. Right now a copper mine is being proposed right next to the boundary waters wilderness area in Minnesota 😢. One of my favorite places I've ever been. I go there for a week or two every summer. It sets your heart free. On e they pollute it with that mine you can't bring it back. And the rich guy that owns the mine? What does he care? There is a bad fight coming. The wealthy and powerful need to be reigned in. French Revolution style if necessary 😊
Thank you! I've long enjoyed the National Parks and Forests in California. A couple years back, I took a cross country camping trip with my teenage daughter. We vistited Mono Lake, Death Valley, the Grand Canyon, Sam Houston, Smokey Moutain and Rocky Moutain National parks , plus various state and county parks. Enjoy your retirement. We have a beautiful country. I'm glad I got to enjoy more of it with my daughter. Scorpions, Big Horn sheep, Bears, Alligators, Moose, snakes, frogs, mosquitoes, and big spiders. I love our National Parks.
Watching you today from Denver, Colorado. John Denver and his music are American treasures. I think he is extra special to us in the mountains and high plains.
This song by John was about himself. 15 years ago i left New England on Atlantic coast with my two black lab dogs and went to Rocky Mountains for three months and just explored the beauty. My wife encouraged me to finally take the steps and go. Those two beautiful dogs are gone now but the memories are fresh as if were yesterday. Now i have a Siberian husky and she and i explore the White Mountains of New Hampshire making new discoveries and memories., John Denver accompanied us every step of the way to this very moment.
i have made several, multiple several, hikes and camping excursions into various national parks. the thing that i most remember is a sign i saw as we went into the grand canyon for an 8 day hike down into, then along the river, and then back out of the canyon. that sign said.... "take nothing but memories.... leave nothing but footprints." words to live by.
There will never be someone who sing more gently Words about God's given beauty to the one they see and feel it . J. Denver told us what never should been forgotten , what humans never should to risk getting lost for ... what we've had to cry for when it's never been again , like it was ...
My sister lives in Colorado and I was in awe when I went out to visit. It really does look this way; just beautiful! Also, this is my favorite John Denver song. We lost a good soul when he passed away.
I've literally been around the world, and there are so many wonderful places and things to see--and from my experience, the vast majority of people are welcoming and beautiful. I'm now living in Colorado for the third time in my life and it is as beautiful as the late great Mr. John Denver portrays it in this song. I would gladly host anyone who would wish to share God's beauty in this amazing place if they would agree to do the same in their home country as I'm sure I was be just as amazed at the beauty of their homeland.
I grew up listening to John Denver. He was my first concert @ Red Rocks. I go camping a lot in Colorado in the Rockies, I always have John's song in my head.
It’s not a place, or a thing, or an idea that bequeaths us serenity, but the grace of choosing acceptance in each and every moment. Wildness both beautiful and fierce.
I love John Denver so much. My mom listened to him a lot when I was a kid and some of my earliest memories are of singing along with his beautiful voice.
Beautiful song! John Denver was a gifted singer songwriter & actor. He had so many great hits in the 70's-80's. Some of his signature songs were "Take Me Home, Country Roads", "Grandma's Feather Bed", "Fly Away", "Leaving On A Jet Plane", "Poems, Prayers & Promises", "Annie's Song", "Calypso", "Sunshine On My Shoulders" etc. John appeared in several films & television specials during the 70's-80's, including the 1977 hit "Oh, God!", in which he starred alongside George Burns.
I have listened to this song for over 50 years and it is as fresh as the first time. His beautiful voice and beautiful idea of coming home. Also, listen to The Eagle and The Hawk. Very short, very specific and personal.
John Denver wrote most of the songs he ever recorded. He did write this one. He became popular in the 70s and early 80s. But I tell you the music from the 1970s was the best ever and very eclectic
The first time I saw an eagle fly it not only took my breath away it made me cry, I live in Colorado and I'm able to go to the mountains whenever I want, it's somewhere that makes you feel closer to God and gives you absolute peace and serenity!! This song is our state song, its played a lot here!!
John Denver was a talented entertainer, singer, song writer mainly from the 70's.The baby boomer generation were able to hear his songs and enjoy them as they came out hit after hit.Colorado is a beautiful state.Tennessee also has beautiful mountains.
What you were saying about the US having everything is very correct, especially when it comes to scenery etc. Many people from other nations wonder why most Americans do not travel to other countries etc...we just do not need to. We have every form of scenery etc you can ask for right here in America, beautiful forests, gorgeous mountains, deserts, plains, tropical areas you name it we have it right here in America. Even people who love travelling to the huge cities we have those all over and the small rural towns and farming areas for people who like that.
I was born in 1958 in Denver Colorado and grew up listing to John my older sister loved him after he wrote this song I became a fan! RIP my sweet lovely Sister I will always love you and will always remember the love you had for John!
Both meanings of 'high' are appropriate for John Denver (AND Colorado LOL) Beautiful voice, beautiful song. I moved to the state a few years after my 27th year. Still here 40 yrs later.
At the age of 27 John Denver wrote this song "Rocky Mountain High in (1972)." It's about his rebirth when he came upon the State of Colorado in the US. What he saw was the beautiful Rocky Mountain Ranges, Lakes, Rivers, Streams and Abundant Wildlife and Fauna. He later would make Colorado his home for the rest of his life until his passing in 1997. You cannot go wrong going down the Rabbitt Hole that is the late great Singer/Songwriter John Denver. Great reaction as always. I am an empath just like your wonderful husband. Peace and love to you both.
Great reaction as always! I remember hearing this song when I was young and enjoying the images it created in my mind. Moved to the suburbs of Denver Colorado in 1983. Once I saw the majestic Rocky Mountains I new I found my new home. Love you both.......wish you were my neighbors!
The rockies are a must see if you ever make it here seeing pikes peek from the garden of the gods is a sight you will never forget and take the drive up pikes peek highway it's awe inspiring
We have so very many beautiful places in America! Some take it for granted! I wish I had went to more states than I have and now I am too old! God bless! RIP John Denver
On Mothers Day i think 1991 John Denver showed up as a surprise to his mother at the church i attended because his mom went to the church. The whole church got a surprise performance!! What a great mothers day!!! What a beautiful soul!!
This is one of my all time favorite songs, beautifully written, beautifully sung and the music carries you along on a cloud imagining you are walking with him in the forest. I feel this way about forest… I love your reactions they are pure and honest like this song!!!
I am an American truck driver and having been in 48 states I have seen some amazing sites. I also have seen some amazing eye sores. I have memories that I hope will never fade and some that I wish would. I have seen the amber waves of grain and the deep scars of mining pits. If you ever come to America look me up in Tennessee and I’ll show you some southern hospitality.
John Denver went to High School here in Fort Worth, Texas. His dad was stationed here in the Airforce. If you two ever come to America you can stay at my house with my wife and I. I will give you a tour of the great State of Texas. You two are my favorite reactors.
I saw John Denver at Red Rocks Amphitheater outside of Denver in the early 1970's, and at The Grand Teton Music Festival in Jackson, Wyoming in 2001. An amazing talent. I still listen to his vinyls - 50 years later.
Mountain lakes like that are truly amazing. They are crystal clear. You can see through the water 20-30 feet out. On a trip with my wife and daughter swam in one and the water could be drank right from the lake. So many beautiful places
Yes, I really love his music too. It just reaches into your soul. Another song I really love is "Poems, prayers and promises". Strangely, not many people have reacted to it but those who have, have been deeply touched. Please consider reviewing this song at some time in the future, I would love to see what you think of it.
John Denver was born as Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. but took the performing name, John Denver due to his love for the Rocky Mountains. Denver is the largest city in Colorado.
Colorado is beautiful having visited there many times. I live in a part of the USA called New England where we have mountains, Forrest, fields, and the Ocean and the four seasons. America is a beautiful country Nice reaction and review
I don't know if anyone else has mentioned it, but, Denver wasn't John's real last name. He loved Colorado so much he adopted Denver as his last name. He also has the distinction of having 2 songs as state songs in America. 'Take Me Home, Country Roads', is the state song for West Virginia, and the one you just listened too is Colorado's. BTW - I love your heartfelt reactions.
Hi guys, you dropped off my radar. Great reaction, and how lovely that you've recreated to one of my favourite John Denver songs. You're so right, in that this song speaks to your heart in finding that peaceful place inside you. Love the banter.
I am so happy to be the age I am and to have lived in Alamosa, Colo. Through the majority of John Denver's career. He was a beautiful artist with the words of his songs and it saddens me to know how he left this word. The details were ugly but he wasn't. I lived the Colorado Rocky Mountain High at 7,635 ft. Alamosa, my formative years. This song, the words to his other songs and voice take me back to cherished times.
America has some of the ugliest and the most beautiful places. Of course, Europe also has some of the most amazing scenery also. I lived in the mountains for several years, off grid, back in the early 80's and I share John's love for nature and dedication to being an environmentalist. These photos are absolutely stunning. We do miss John and his lovely voice.
There are a few places in America, like Colorado, where people just visit and never leave, becoming captivated by the beauty of them. Stories like this are actually quite common here.
I'm fron Oklahoma. My first sight of the Rockies came several hours before I knew I was seeing mountains not a bank of clouds. They're a bit scary from up top looking down. It's is truly beautiful. I like to walk. I make it a practice to pick up trash along the way. I was raised to be helpful. I also hope if someone notices maybe they'll start doing the same.
You have to check out John Denver live in his ( The Wildlife Concert ) he does all his songs ! It is a great concert I think you will love it !! Take care you guys are great !!
nothing like growing up in the country...have lived in cities bu... back in more or less country again now...well very small town. . . good old song...nice song to sleep into Andrei 😅
Yes, Colorado is truly beautiful, and so is my home of almost 45 years here in Alaska! That said, I just happen to know that Romania has a lot of natural beauty as well! Make sure to celebrate the beauty around you and hopefully one day you will get to visit some of the natural beauty in North America! Always enjoy your reactions....cheers!
I’m just finding you on TH-cam John Denver was a MASSIVE believer in protecting our environment. He was a great musician as well. Thank you for noticing this - I wish more Americans would. I listened to every word of commentary Please come to our country when you can. I would love to visit yours as well - Romania?
Great artist, so many wonderful songs. As for the photos, some shown are of places in the Canadian Rockies, I see Moraine Lake Alberta for sure :) Great reaction video.
NOOOOO!!!!! if you're going to do John Denver, you H A V E to do "Hi Calypso" ! That song always make my heart swell, but cry at the same time. And such a beautiful video starring the legend, Jacques Cousteau of course 🙏🙏🙏
I loved your reaction video... The two of you remind me that good people are good people. We live worlds apart and you both sound exactly like all of my best friends. You mentioned all the things we talk about all the time. Nature, the last great generation , love the time we grew up in, the best music, feeling too busy, the inability to understand how someone can throw a candy wrapper in the forest on purpose, wanting to find peace in our lives etc. I live in Iowa, USA, less than a 10 hour , easy drive, to the Rocky Mountains, and I haven't been there in 35 years. You remind me I should go !!!! You say you have to think the pictures in the video must be enhanced, but I can tell you I have seen with my own eyes scenes like that, and though there may be some enhancements to some of the pictures, I can also tell you there are lots and lots of places that are far more beautiful than any of the pictures in the video.... If you ever make it to the United States for a visit, I will take time off , and I will show you around, and you can stay with me, free of charge !!!! Message me ! Thank you for waking me up !!!!
Oh my...your message made us teary. Thank you for your beautiful words. Means so much knowing that they're like-minded people all over the world ☺️ Peace and love from Romania 💚
Once when I took my family over to Seattle, we were driving over Snoqualamie pass on I-90. Near lake Kechelus (spelling?) the John Denver CD I had in came to Eagle and the Hawk. About 15 seconds into the song, a hawk flew across the road right in front of us. Very close. Then just before the end I looked to my left towards the lake and there was a bald eagle circling over the water. Blew my mind
I just discovered you both less than 30 minutes ago, and I love your reactions! I watched your reactions to REN first, and immediately subscribed. You are an amazingly beautiful couple, and so in tune with music and it’s purpose of touching our souls. I absolutely love you guys! 🙌🏽🎶☀️ Thank you for sharing your insight and love.. peace and love from Maui 🙏🏽
John Denver's grandmother gave him his first guitar. He was gifted and a very funny man, and yes he did love nature. I read a story from a guy who had a car breakdown in Colorado and he claimed that John Denver stopped and gave him a ride.
After John's divorce from 1st wife Annie, he went through a metamorphosis, and looked deeply into himself, emerging the person we've come to know before his death. The Rocky mountains were his "life" and dedicated most of his time to protecting until his death.
The most beautiful place I ever went was the Rocky Mountains. Ohio, where I live, has some beautiful places but something about the Rockies just made me feel so close to Creation. Thanks for this one guys. Peace and love.
Truth, Beauty & Goidness always touch the heart somehow. Oddly in America which is so diverse in its beauty from Coasts to Great Lakes, Mountains, deserts & plains we often look at Europe with the old architecture, the Alps, Austria, Switzerland, the Provence, and rural Poland, Romania, ect seems like heaven to us(me at keast). Cheers. Hope you get outside to enjoy & maybe visit the U.S. some day. Have a glass of wine at a vineyard aling the Finger Lakes in the Autum. Salute!
My older brother was a huge fan of John Denver. He was a big fan of the outdoors, where he could find peace in nature from his troubled soul. Unfortunately he succumbed to his demons and killed himself over some stupid non- event 25 years ago. Any John Denver song brings back his quirky personality and big smile.
I spent my life and career working for the US National Park Service as a Ranger. These places do exist. I have seen them. Please protect the wilderness, we lose more every day.

You bet, 'cause RMH is our State Song! 😁
Hello from Parker, just south of the city :)
He loved and appreciated natural beauty everywhere on earth. Singing about your own backyard is where you start.
I've literally been around the world, and there are so many wonderful places and things to see--and from my experience, the vast majority of people are welcoming and beautiful. What a beautiful state and John Denvers voice is amazing 😊
rocky mountains are incredible ..! he captured the view and viewpoint perfectly!
It’s not a place, or a thing, or an idea that bequeaths us serenity, but the grace of choosing acceptance in each and every moment. Wildness both beautiful and fierce.

You entered the rabbit hole. Now keep going! John Denver recorded SO many beautiful songs that you will just love. Please continue on this journey.
My favorite Denver song! John was often referred to as "a song's best friend," and he truly was! Thanks for this one guys, great job!✌️❤️

The Eagle and the Hawk is amazing. Very John Denver.

So spirited. So alive. You know that it was based on something John personally saw.
John Denver wrote most of the songs he ever recorded. He did write this one. He became popular in the 70s and early 80s. But I tell you the music from the 1970s was the best ever and very eclectic

His songs, In A Grand Way, Eclipse & Mathew among others will touch you with the music & lyrics & story telling.

This is the music of my life thank you for showing some love to America
I had the wonderful opportunity to see John Denver twice in concert, they were so good; he talked, sang, his band was great. ❤❤

NOOOOO!!!!! if you're going to do John Denver, you H A V E to do "Hi Calypso" ! That song always make my heart swell, but cry at the same time. And such a beautiful video starring the legend, Jacques Cousteau of course 🙏🙏🙏
You guys are so awesome, I can see the joy music brings you and its wonderful .
I LOVE HIM!!!! HE HAS WRITTEN SO MANY DIFFERENT SONGS TRY THANK GOD IM A COUNTRY BOY NEXT PLEASE!!!!!!
I recommend John Denver and Plácido Domingo "Perhaps Love". One of the most beautiful Love Songs!
John’s music provided him the platform for his work as an environmentalist. A national treasure!
I lived in Romania for a while and married a Romanian Woman. I think Romania is a very beautiful Country. Foarte Frumos.
God bless AMERICA AND Colorado!!!
So beautiful, light up!
After John's divorce from 1st wife Annie, he went through a metamorphosis, and looked deeply into himself, emerging the person we've come to know before his death. The Rocky mountains were his "life" and dedicated most of his time to protecting until his death.
John denver loved nature. And everything about it, he also love flying and was flying on this experimental plane and crashed lost his life.
Gorgeous singing
