Sarah, Ive got a Red 2009 W639 VITO . and it fucking RULES!! its an auto diesel (a bit lame) but drives and brakes like a car even with 1000lbs in the back. and has proved to be super reliable. i love it. but the red paint fades like crazy in the harsh Aussie sun.
I bought a '20 Sprinter 2500 4WD Crew as a daily driver. Love the thing. V6 diesel engine, 2 speed transfer case, my KTM 1290 fits in the back, it's everything I wanted in a truck.
2:38- Same fuel-filler door set-up on the Sprinter that I've driven whilst volunteering/working for the local food-bank. Sprinter Van's are awesome, btw! :)
We purchased a Thor Motorhome (2016) on a Mercedes V6 diesel chassis. We continue to be amazed and surprised at the quality and performance of this vehicle! This is our 3rd motorhome and definitely the best even after owning a new Leisure Travel van on a Ford chassis. The Thor / Mercedes combination is definitely second to none. Handling, driveability and fuel economy are all excellent.
Have a 2018 Metris Cargo I use for my freight delivery business. 3.5 years and 100K now and (knock on wood) it's been great overall. My favorite aspect is I put maximum payload of 2,500 Lbs. in it and can still get close to 30MPG!
I agree. Sarah added her unique insights (ok: zany comments) to this which hasn't been done before IMHO. What about a mini-series on vehicles which are not cars/SUVs?
Yeah! I love that thing. A single bed that folds up sideways on the driver side, and a slide tray holding my MTB with a tiny fridge and sink setup behind the passenger seat with solar panels on the top and a big li-ion battery with cargo nets hanging from the top to store stuff. Nice aggressive tires, and upgrade those headlights and it's the perfect MTB adventure vehicle. More van reviews!
These vans are cool. I had to replace an exhaust manifold on a 2012 sprinter, and it actually was super easy for the motor being configured differently than a car.
My workplace has two of these (~2017 model year). They are amazing as simple cargo vans. We've outfitted them with racks for toolboxes. Mercedes makes a surprising range of vehicles, most of which don't come to the US. Thanks for reviewing something different (not just for your channel, but for Mercedes)!
Awesome review as always Sarah. If you think you might have caught even the slightest amount of the van bug, I absolutely implore you to look up and find anything you can on bad ass rides of the original van craze of the entire 1970's into the early 1980's. For one thing, the styling was SO much better back then. And of course two, most of them had bad to the bone V8's in them. Sweet. Love your channel. 👍🇺🇸
Yes! The signature Sarah seat bolster move. Though slightly less enthusiasm as is normal. Also non-painted plastic bumpers on a Mercedes. I bet is still cost Mercedes money.
This was hilarious, "channelling your inner giraffe", one of the many quips that had me in stitches, just what I needed, thanks Sarah. Though some headache tablets for penguin.😂🐧
Sarah, you hit all the major points on this video and I hurt from laughing so much. I am on my 2nd Metris and I cheated by getting a Driverge upfit, but left off the awning and kitchen. I got the extra battery, solar panel, table, folding bench bed, and roof pop top with bed. Anybody can buy a portapotty and the only thing missing is some kind of vent or fan which you need when stealth camping. You are my absolutely favorite you tube rock star!!!!!
The postal service is actually buying these. Right hand drive, sliding doors on both sides and a window in the left sliding door. Steel wheels of course. Fun fact.. these are completely made in Germany, then taken across the parking lot to a different factory, the subframe with the engine and all taken out, and shipped separately, now its shipped as automotive parts and not as a vehicle, then the tarrifs are cheaper.
I'm happy you did review this car . This is the same feeling that I hade in the first Mercedes Vito ,that came on the market 15 years ago or more(I was in the high school back then. And I wish you will have the chance to test more from the Mercedes lineup, even from the older ones, they are really well engineered cars. Cheers to you Sarah !!! ♡♡
What a great review! I'm more of a wagon guy, but they are harder to make a home out of. Vans are the obvious next option, so thanks for that angle in the video!
From one veteran to another (and much better looking and mechanically inclined one), thank you for your service in defending our country, Sarah. :) #salute
I believe the fuel doors are like that on vans to make it more difficult to break in and syphon off the fuel and also so that no fuel pipe impacts on the cargo area.
Happy Veterans Day & thank you for your service! I can't say I expected to see a cargo van review on this channel, but then again, it IS a Mercedes-Benz. Having driven a few of the truly old school cargo vans, it looks like that one is a major step up in terms of driving characteristics and interior goodies.
It reminds me of my parents 1986 Mini van that I barely even remember. You get extra Bolstering Score for the Yellow Top that looks amazing on you, you get 3.1 Race Seats. (I like Giraffes)....
Sarah, Thanks for your service in the USAF, and thanks for being probably the most attractive, hardworking and informative automotive content creator on the web.
Damn I think you painted those jeans on. no complaint. I grew up as a kid riding in an 1983/84 ford customized van it was so sweet. Captains chairs that swivel and a back seat that folds into a bed. The TV was actually in the back. Many trips to the beach and long road. Trips in that thing. Sad no longer made.
I would love to see Sarah build one of these. Building a van is great fun, you can go as nuts as your budget allows. Maybe after the rally car is done?
Certain cars have that feature of the hazard lights that come on depending on how hard you push the brake pedal. My VW MK6 Golf has it. I guess is very useful when you are on the Freeway and the car in front of you it starts to slow down and you panic brake it alert the driver behind you to stop if he/she is paying attention. :D
Since nobody buys mid or large size vans for fun, they tend to be more expensive than you would expect, and rarely discounted. You know you need the van, they know you need the van.
Thanks for testing this. I'm looking at the shorter wheelbase version. I like the turbo engine and RWD. The bare-bones 126"wb Metris starts at $27k. Pretty good value, I think. Plus it has a tow rating of 5000lbs and a cargo capacity of 2400lbs. You can get 4x8 sheets of plywood to lie flat in the back. I'm concerned that it would be too crude and noisy on the road, though. Nearest dealer is over 200 miles away.
I have a 2018 Metris Cargo I use for my freight delivery business. In short it's a beast. Just crossed 100K miles in 3.5 years and it's been a beast. I carry max payload of 2,500 Lbs. and still get close to 30MPG! I plan on getting the extended version very soon. Touch wood, it's been great..!
The high torque / low RPM setting kinda makes sense for a cargo van. It's designed to haul heavy loads. You need the torque down low, to get the weight rolling, more so than at the top end.
There was always something lacking in the van reviews I've been watching and I just couldn't put my finger on it. Now I understand what it was today..... belly shirt..... That's what's been missing. thank you so much Sarah
Funny how specs have gone down hill. My fully outfitted 1995 Ford E350 diesel gets 20 mpg. Seventeen mpg with a trailer of any size in the rear. I finished with a 24' trailer. The van does grocery shopping now with only 95,000 miles on its commercial class chassis. Oil changes suck at 12 quarts per. Oil assays at $18 can push your changes to one year. That is my artificial max. The engine is a full 7.3 liter dual turbo injected V8. The engine was made by Navistar aka International Harvester. I leave Mercedes diesel vans and cars in my rear view mirror. Their mileage sucks too.
You should look at VW Transporter vans and what we do with them in the UK, Kombi's day vans, pop top roofs etc etc it's amazing what people do with their Transporters
Great companies that we were I watched your show for a long time and I really enjoy it I have a daughter that's the car girl so it makes me proud to see other car girls in the community and I always look forward to your videos you crack me up I just want to thank you for brightening my day each time I see your video hours of mechanic for over 38 years
I'm so in tune with your channel. I'm also building my tiny home/motovan in a VW Transporter t5 and also modifying an old 2002 focus I kept from my dad. Greetings from México! Cheers
That was fun. I hope the car companies realize that you do a great job giving honest impressions and technical stats that usually makes me want one of whatever you're reviewing.
I work at a company that uses customized For Transit 350s. TBH if you get the ecoboost it will spin the tires. Its pretty quick even with the mid or high roof. I'm seriously considering getting one when we sell our fleet off.
Great review of a vehicle that rarely gets reviewed. I personally like he Metris for many of reasons that you liked it and it doesn't have that weird creeper van vibe.
Hi, this amazing regular size van has been around in Europe with a different name for a while, and in the states for a while too. It's as great as you'd expect it to be!

Tons of room for smashing
cargo if not properly tied down or secured.
You snook that comment in there like Sarah snook a couple sideways drifts and somebody's Van....🤭
are we talking velvet ropes here???
I like the cut of your jib sir!
I have a Metris. I do a lotta smashing in there. It's why I bought one
Happy Veterans Day Sarah
Thank you for your service.
🇺🇲
❤️

I am quite certain this is the most entertaining review of a van ever recorded....😝👍
It was super fun to film! Lol
@@SarahnTuned You are awesome!!! 🥰
This rocked it out.....
Agreed.
Definitely the best review of a van, lately.
We purchased a Thor Motorhome (2016) on a Mercedes V6 diesel chassis. We continue to be amazed and surprised at the quality and performance of this vehicle! Love my Vito (Uk version of the Metris) Got the 3ltr V6 it’s definitely fun to drive.
Wow, that's a beast! 😀
Have a 2018 Metris Cargo I use for my freight delivery business. 3.5 years and 100K now and (knock on wood) it's been great overall. My favorite aspect is I put maximum payload of 2,500 Lbs. in it and can still get close to 30MPG!
Whoa! The bass is turned up in this video. I like Go Sarah!!! Great review you make them fun.
Sarah, as always you hit the important parts on the money and I love watching you. Tall women ROCK!
And yes they are reclineable......funniest spot ever.
I agree!! LOL
Not only did I enjoy this review 😊 but I’d like to see you review more “unusual” vehicles 🚗 just the greatest!
I agree. Sarah added her unique insights (ok: zany comments) to this which hasn't been done before IMHO. What about a mini-series on vehicles which are not cars/SUVs?
i drive one for usps. surprised at how fast it feels
Yeah! I love that thing. Hello from Europe, the fuel filler location is the standard location for all European Made Vans over here
This has got to be one of your best & funniest reviews ever! Thank you Sarah for all the work you put in to these for us!
I just bought the Metris for my business and i have to agree it's an an amazing van. It smatches the competition
I drove one for work and yes it is a decent handling van. The one I drove did have additional weight inside as it was setup for mobile service.
You crack me up. Love your reviews.
Hey Mercedes - You need to link to this video on your Metris pages. The reclining seats bit will sell! What a fun review!!!
I leased one of these for a few years, got a re-Map, rocket ship!! Fastest van in the west, East, south and North....
It's called the V class in Europe wich you can really deck out like a sorta s class van with an v6 even
The review that nobody wanted or needed, but we’re so glad we got because it’s Sarah and she rocks!
Amazing Sarah you are my most favourite TH-camr
I like your sense of humor. You also do good evaluations of the many vehicles you review.
Quite possibly your best and funniest review yet. Love it when you review something other than typical daily drivers or super cars.
Awesome review as always Sarah. If you think you might have caught even the slightest amount of the van bug, I absolutely implore you to look up and find anything you can on bad ass rides of the original van craze of the entire 1970's into the early 1980's. I own a Metris and it's been great! I agree with your review. I love your reviews!
Yes! The signature Sarah seat bolster move. Though slightly less enthusiasm as is normal. Also non-painted plastic bumpers on a Mercedes. I bet is still cost Mercedes money.
This was a very entertaining review!!!
Great work Sarah!!
Honestly a surprising review! I'm impressed with the Mercedes Van, Sarah!
This was hilarious, "channelling your inner giraffe", one of the many quips that had me in stitches, just what I needed, thanks Sarah. Though some headache tablets for penguin.😂🐧
Am I the only one who backed up the video and replayed 3:54 to 3:56 twice? Seriously, great review Sarah. Semper Fi
Sarah, you hit all the major points on this video and I hurt from laughing so much. I am on my 2nd Metris and I cheated by getting a Driverge upfit, but left off the awning and kitchen. VAN HALEN LYFE!! - I'm super impressed but shocked that their wasn't a single hot shoe, burnin down the avenue or Hot for teacher reference!
The postal service is actually buying these. Right hand drive, sliding doors on both sides and a window in the left sliding door. Steel wheels of course. Thanks for your service and thanks for doing a very entertaining van review. Vanlife is an interesting life to live.
only Sarah can do a review on a van and still be perfect and entertaining, amazing content, keep up the great work.
As always... a great review. Thanks (both of you) for the video.
What a great review! I'm more of a wagon guy, but they are harder to make a home out of. Vans are the obvious next option, so thanks for that angle in the video!
From one veteran to another (and much better looking and mechanically inclined one), thank you for your service in defending our country, Sarah. :) #salute
You were very peppy during the review. I like to see you happy! Keep up the great reviews! Thank you!
The music when you start driving it fits with it so perfect lol
Omg, this is by far the best and funniest automotive channel I've seen. I hate auto channels( tfl, cough), not a big gearhead, but this is great.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE SARAH.
There is also a front wheel drive transverse engine configuration on this model using Renault derived engines (well, on the Vito at least)
I believe the fuel doors are like that on vans to make it more difficult to break in and syphon off the fuel and also so that no fuel pipe impacts on the cargo area.
"Reclinable" THUD
LOL I am ded
For a second I though she was too. :D
Thats our Sarah, a "stand up comic".
Ive got one of these for my work vehicle, the top dash cupholders are awesome for a cupholder cell phone mount!
Yes! Need more van reviews!
Ive been lusting after one of these...a rear wheel drive mini van!
I’m so glad to see you testing more Mercedes. They really are great vehicles 🚗
I would love to see Sarah build one of these. Building a van is great fun, you can go as nuts as your budget allows. Maybe after the rally car is done?
Yes! Her Ideas on suspension tuning would be really cool! How ever I'd like to see her with a stronger V6 version for more performance.
Thats so AWESOME to have your sis in videos with you... I LOVE!! :)
Cool van. Outstanding review. No question, one of your top 5 bolster wiggles.
Awesome, I had so much fun! :D
You two sisters are a great team!
I would love to see you do a van-life build, then you could add travel to the channel...going out and visiting other automotive TH-camrs 🤔👍😉
Hasn't that been done to death by free-spirited posers?
It’s certainly been done by the hipster crowd but I have total confidence that Sarah would do it better. Because Sarah. And penguins...
This is the first cargo van review I encountered on TH-cam (or anywhere, TBH). I love it! More quirky vehicles, please!
I'm so glad you reviewed the Metris!

Lol... You had me with “somersaulting van”! Nice to see the penguin cameo, as well. Thank you, Sarah (and Celine).
Wasn’t sure if I was going to enjoy or like this video. I was pleasantly surprised! Very witty and interesting way to give a review.
Vans are the best. I have owned my T4 for 16 years.
Thanks Sarah for your service. Hope you had a great Veterans day!
This the first time I’ve heard of a car turning on the hazards for a “emergency” stop situation I think that’s an awesome safety feature
"Hitting the earth with little meteors," oh my god I laughed so hard I cried. This was your best review yet Sarah, please don't ever stop being you.

nice to see. yes they are a bit "skippy" in the wet. but its fun when you know how. good one.
The van is really ready to convert! The fuel door is proof, like a class b+ motor home.
It doesn't matter what you review, I'll watch it. You are entertaining.
You should look at VW Transporter vans and what we do with them in the UK, Kombi's day vans, pop top roofs etc etc it's amazing what people do with their Transporters

Hilarious yet usefully informative review. You are the best!
Annndddd you just made my month so far, thank you. I love your humor!!!!
Great review Sarah. Kudos to Mercedes for retaining "correct wheel drive" in a van. I would think the next step would be all wheel drive.
I don't watch a lot of your review videos, but I saw this and for sure had to watch it. You should see if you can get one of the sprinters to review.
Great review of a vehicle that rarely gets reviewed. I personally like he Metris for many of reasons that you liked it and it doesn't have that weird creeper van vibe.
Doug Demuro: Here's Why the Mercedes Metris Is The Worst Minivan Ever Made
Sarah: I Reviewed a Van.....it was Amazing!
Does Doug know its NOT a "minivan"?
Yeah, it is a mid-sized van.
Doug has no clue. This is the van to get in Europe. Pretty popular in VIP Taxi or cargo/service van.
My new favorite van review. Loved the whole sliding the side door open all classy like lol
I think your onto something Sarah. You should do more quirky vehicle reviews. No one else is doing that.. I'd watch them all.!!
Hi, this amazing regular size van has been around in Europe with a different name for a while, and in the states for a while too.
It's as great as you'd expect it to be!
Love my Mercedes Vito, it’s just passed 240000 miles and going strong!
That is a good van indeed. 🚐
The best van review ever. You could make a dumpster truck interesting.
Great review. I have seen many of these on the road and always wondered about them. Who better than Sarah to fill me in.
Awesome van and Awesome job at showing us your funny personality. I am hooked!!
