  • Rocket Lab may have just dropped a nuke on the small sat launch market by secretly opening up an enormous factory in Auckland, New Zealand.
With only about 72 hours notice, I wound up flying to New Zealand to get an exclusive look at their new 7,500 sq/m (80,700 sq/ft) factory that is streamlined for an impressive production rate.

Hey Tim, I'm a proud NZer and so stoked with what Rocketlab are doing down here in Aotearoa. NZ has long been ahead of the curve when it comes to going fast, for little to no money. For example we've had Burt Munro (World's Fastest Indian), Bruce McLaren (Of McLaren F1 fame), Britten Motorcycles (th-cam.com/video/FjXA6E0eqao/w-d-xo.html), Team NZ (yachting), Scott Dixon (US Indy car 5 time champ), and now ROCKETLAB. Being so far away from the rest of the world means that, in the past especially, Kiwis have had to develop a DIY attitude to building and fixing a lot of things. So proud of Rocketlab for flying the Aoteroa flag into SPACE! I hope you are enjoying your stay, Tim.

I live round the corner from the auckland base, i used to deliver gas bottles to their lab at the university, and i remember when peter came to look at buying a warehouse as a potential base where i worked a few years later. He was pretty cool guy. Love what they are doing, and love your channel bro🤘 might apply for a job there, sweeping up space dust
