You guys are such awesome examples. You're educating about these fabulous animals and also being honest about the hard work of caring for them at adult size, it's wonderful to see content that isn't only about the cute little babies (not that the babies aren't awesome) but more education means that more people who want to adopt one of those babies will get a real idea of the long term work they involve and will either decide they're not ready for it, or they are ready for it and the animal goes to a good long term home. I volunteer at a nonprofit rescue committed specifically to turtles (we have a few resident mascot sullies!) and seeing such enthusiastic and loving turtle content reaching so many people is wonderful.

I love watching Tiptoe eat. His pink muscular tongue gets me smiling all the time. And of course I just love this big tortoise too! 🐢🥰❤️❤️
If i ever wanted a tatoo, i would get a mini turtle 🐢 on my ankle or feet. That's how much i love tortoise. I always get a kick out of seeing TT wiggle his behind, doing his shimmer shake. THANK YOU Caitlin for entertaining us ❤.

I am a court appointed legal guardian to a young man who has autism spectrum disorder / asperger syndrome (as do I), so I know an Aspie when I see one: Tiptoe! He is moody. Sometimes he withdraws into a shell to get away from unwanted stimuli / people; he has a high IQ, yet focuses his interests into narrow areas of expertise, like the person who has befriended him and understands his idiosyncracies and preferences, but most especially, he is a subject matter expert on FOOD. Like many Aspies, he has a bit of Attention Deficit Disorder, as evidenced by his occasional bouts of straying away when he is bored, believing the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence; and he is also often impulsive, making a break for the road / forest / pond when he sees an opportunity for more independence and freedom, not realizing the dangers of his adventurism: being hit by a car / attacked by a predator, etc. Fortunately he has you to guide and protect him, but he still has that rebellious nature of a teenager and impulsivity of a two year old that he confronts you with to test your love. 8:02

as a kid who grew up with the OG pokemon craze, and choosing the BEST STARTER EVER SQUIRTLE... Tip Toe is a pet i would have LOVED to have had as a kid (and even now, given that tortoises will likely out live me...) Congrats on 300K!! (actually 320K only 1 hr after this video went up!!) U are so right about getting a pet that would last longer than your childhood. Parents should be as caring, loving and committed as yours. I got my son a red-ear slider 20 yrs ago last Christmas. It is all well worth it. Turtles can be comical, persistent & loving.

those are his spurs, they are hard and help him keep protected from preditors in his natural environment
