Visitor visa and your current visitor stay are 2 different things. Normally, when entering Canada you are allowed to stay for maximum 6 months before you must leave the country. This video talks about extending your current stay so you don’t have to leave the country. Usually they will grant you 6 months or 1 year however some people only get extra 3 months. If your visa is valid for many years you can always leave Canada after 6 months then come back anything within your valid visa time limit
@@Surrwin yes, they're still valid. So, I don't need to give it again, right? It's very confusing because the website says that people need. I'm just trying to make sure and do everything correctly. So, do you think I need to give biometrics?
You need to provide the number on your biometrics for the application. You mentioned that it’s still valid so you can just use it again. You won’t need to go and get a new one 👍
My dad on a visitor record but his visa will be expire earlier next year, so he thinking to go back home and apply for a new trv, is it hard to get another trv from back home ?
I think you are confusing two different things. TRV is for extending your current stay in canada, the usual limit for a stay is 6 months before you need to leave Canada. You can submit a TRV extension to extend the length of time you can currently stay in Canada, usually they extend 6 months or 1 year. Then there is your actual Canadian Visitor Visa which is usually valid for 10 years or tied to the expire of your passport. The Visa allows you to enter Canada anytime during those 10 years but you can only stay for 6 months at a time. Once you are here, if you wanted to stay for more then 6 months without having to leave then come back, you'd submit a TRV. You would not submit a TRV from outside of Canada because that would defeat the propose of what a TRV is. If you want to get your father another Canadian Tourist Visa then you need to completely reapply for it. In the questions you will be asked, they will ask if you've had a Canadian Visa before where you could put Yes for your father. This will make it much easier for him to get another Canadian Tourist Visa
You need to use a digital photo that meets their expectations which they talk about in the application. For proof of funds, you can use the previous one since it should only be a few months old

How long is your Visa for? Some people are granted 5 or 10 year visa entries into Canada but you must either leave before 6 months or extend your current stay. If you check your passport it should say in there how long it is for
@@RupinderKaur-s6x Yes, that should be more then enough time. There is no actual rule for how long you must stay out of the country, it is really up to the border officer.
@@RanjeetSingh-es9jc It will extend your visitor visa which means you can stay longer which is extending your stay. You cannot stay in the country legally past your visa expiry date so if you don't use IMM5708 to extend your stay, you must leave by your visitor visa expiry date.
