Noble sentiments however, Covid showed how cowardly, obsequious the people of Britain really are. The Starmer junta is hell bent on Net Zero despite the devastation these policies will create.

I agree, it's looking grim though.
Peaceful protests do not work and are ignored.
Riots are not wise and end in prison time.
The conservatives are now leftists thanks to the one nation element.
The only option is to vote Reform but that's 5 years away.
Local elections next year is a start, but we are in deep, deep trouble.

I left England in 2016 as I didn't like the way things were going. But this authoritarian, controlling and oppressive way of governing is spreading everywhere in the west. I live in Norway and it has the same energy building here. Net zero and other delusional projects are bankrupting economies and the money spent on these things is coming out of the public's pockets. I am a legal immigrant to the UK, working in London. My husband and I pay more than £80k in taxes together each year. We also are not eligible for any childcare benefits and pay £4000 each year as NHS surcharge for 4 of us and close to £10k to get a British passport. I see illegal immigrants get subsidised from all my hardwork and taxes. This doesn’t feel good while my road has potholes too despite paying in £2500 as council tax . This is unbelievable

I left the UK 5 years ago when I was 48 and will never go back. I moved to Thailand and am enjoying a simpler life more free and surrounded by nature. I had very little money as I gave my ex wife almost everything... I just wanted a big life change. Now I am loving life more than ever, have a fantastic new partner and we have a 3 year old boy. We designed and built our own house and have started a compost and soil production business just over a year ago which is thriving and has a great team working for us. Sometimes big changes can seem daunting and scary but I say just do it and find a way to make it work for you wherever you want to go and take the stresses out of your life... my 2 biggest stresses before were my marriage and the UK itself.

Otherwise if UK become a third world poor country in future, you will find your life miserable in Thailand. The reverse is true as well. I'm from UK but in South Africa. So I have a wife from here. To move back to UK the spouse visa and costs is over £4300, excluding flights. I have to go to UK alone, find a job of at least £29k a year (so you need to be skilled), work at least 3 months, only then she can apply. Minimum time 6 months to process but some have waited 2-3 years. So my wife of 23 years was good enough to bear 2 British children but realistically cannot move to UK. I'm not an immigrant, I'm British but it is impossible to return home. When you are a UK expat, you see how much the UK government hates us. Meanwhile illegal immigrants can go for free and get everything for free while the Brits work, pay more tax, get poor and suffer. This is blatant social engineering. UK is my home but indeed it is going terrible and getting worse. It isn't looking good. But South Africa has big issues so where else would one go? Pretty much all English speaking countries have become police states.

I'm not leaving. This is my country no matter what some random TH-cam video says. I will defend my way of life, culture, traditions and laws until my last breath. This country didn't go through wars, rebellions, struggle and strife for thousands of years simply to be given up. No. Our ancestors are buried here and they would be horrified about what is happening to their country. I will stay and honour their service and memory. God willing.
And just to add...where exactly would you go to? And how would you live as an outsider in another country's culture? Stay and defend your home.
The people who are inflicting harm - real harm - on us are the government and their proxies. These people do not deserve our country. They are cowardly, mean-spirited, fanatical, small-minded little tinpot bullies and dictators. Don't let them take our country away. Resist.

Are you familiar with frozen UK State Pensions? Example-This year the weekly max for the UK State Pension is 220GBP. “If” you relocated to the EU, the US, the Philipines every spring, your pension will increase. But if you relocate to Canada, Australia, Paraguay your pension is frozen at the amount you took it at. The UK is the only country in the 38 OECD countries that does this. If you are expecting a UK pension in your future, or even now, research frozen UK pensions. Just to be informed.

But If they're moving the age at which it can be claimed to 71, and also making it means tested, then it could well be irrelevant for those not already close to current 66 year old state retirement age. If you did the prudent (Gordon Brown's favourite word) thing and saved then they're not interested in you, apart from extracting those same savings. That said, a lot of British expats have been burned in the past by not doing the due diligence that you recommend. Good luck to us all.

Is central America not politically unstable? They always have coups, corrupt governments and very high levels of crime.
My husband wants to retire in Greece where we are more familiar with the system. But even there the government is very much aligned with western Europe and their policies. The constant threat of Turkey invading Greece is my biggest fear. To Have to experience another war and lose everything we have, is something I never want to go through in my life ever again.
With everything going on in the world right now geopolitically I don't think there is anywhere in the world we can go and have a guarantee we will be safer and better off economically in the near future. All it takes it's an unforeseen economic crash that can wipe out all your savings overnight. Some thing that happened to so many people we know in a country where prosperity and investment was at its high. No one predicted such an event which soon became apparent it was an attack instigated by other countries as a form of economic war to punish and bring down the Strong economic stability of this country.
Thousands of retirees who chose to move there lost their life savings overnight.
With our experience I will say never have all your eggs in one basket. If possible before you relocate have a plan in place to be able to return back if future unforeseen events happen that make it difficult or unsafe to stay.

I’m a dual citizen of the UK and the USA, and I own homes, investments, and businesses in both countries. I’ve noticed that living in America is far more expensive, especially when you consider the lower rate of pay relative to the cost of living. In the UK, it’s generally cheaper to own a home, but in the U.S., banks have figured out how to make you pay significantly more than the amount you originally borrowed on a 20- or 30-year mortgage, no matter how much you put down.
Honestly, you don’t seem to understand the reality of the situation. Let’s talk about what you actually own and how much you pay in taxes. Last year, I made $30,000 in gains and had to pay $12,000 in taxes to Uncle Sam due to my income level. In the UK, I face similar tax rates on equivalent income.
While there’s no state income tax in Florida, the property tax rate is 0.8% of the home’s value. I’m paying nearly $7,000 a year for a house that was paid off a generation ago when my folks owned it. In contrast, for our home in the UK, which is of similar value to my Florida house, I pay just £160 a month in council tax. Moving to 3rd world countries is problematic as their health care system even in private is worse than the USA and UK, security is a risk as you stick out like a sore thumb and many will follow and rob or kidnap you if they think they can get even 100 dollars in value out of you. Do not leave your country try learning to master your environment is what really works.

Up until recently I wouldn't have considered leaving, I loved it here but not anymore. I'm leaving, not sure when but hopefully within a year. I'm currently trying to get an Irish passport as my grandfather is from Armagh.
I'm lucky to be able to do it, I have a flat that I got 16 years ago. It's in one of the most popular areas in Glasgow, its an old tenement and originally was two flats, well a flat and a single end that was made into one big flat. Over the years they have become ridiculously expensive to buy. I could never afford to buy a place here now.
So I'm packing up and leaving, it's not the same here as it used to be and the cost of loving is disgusting. We don't even have good weather.
I have a lot of relatives in Canada but its just as bad there now.
Im going to Albania I think, I learned to speak albanian a couple of years ago which will help in finding a job. The wages aren't great but with the profit from my flat which is almost paid for I could have a decent quality life. I won't be living a life of luxury but it can't be any worse than here. Its also a beautiful country.
That's what I'm sort of thinking of anyway, but not 100% sure just yet.
I would love to stay here but I can't see anything changing for the better here. Its too late, we should have done something about it years ago. We are finished.

    • @MatthewDeanCrabb
      @MatthewDeanCrabb 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

It's a constitutional monarchy. Basically the monarchy is useless, it has no power. Formally the King has to sign new laws into power, but he cannot say no. Queen Elizabeth as well, she signed so many bad laws into power and never said no. It's been like this since the 1600s after Cromwell and the monarchy was restored. Heck, in the late 1600s and 1700s the government even selected the monarch! So the monarchy means nothing, it's just a head to put on the money.

After all he was given the title of 'Lord Protector' so as to over throw the then King and create a parliament of the same rich bodies that the generations of the monarchy created.
The same today has not changed, Those 'with' manipulating 'those without'.
