    Yes I do this. But it can be labor intensive. I wonder if there's an intelligent s/w just for this specific application which has the smarts to differentiate object from background. That would be really nice.

    I've got corel draw essentials 4 but I don't have the "cut out lab" in corel photo paint, is my programme to old?

    EXCELLENT !

  • @michellemccartan2761
    @michellemccartan2761 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for the video, very helpful! This is almost exactly what I'm trying to do, but my image has several straight lines. How do you draw straight lines using the highlighter tool? The usual control key doesn't seem to work in the cutout lab, and my freehand straight lines are really bad (unless I'm doing it wrong which is totally possible!). I'm using Corel Draw x8.

    • @Coreldrawhelp
      @Coreldrawhelp  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As far as I know there is not a way to force a line to be "Straight". But it should not matter that much. As long as the highlight covers the line, the exact "Straightness" should be determined by the artwork not the highlighter.

    • @michellemccartan2761
      @michellemccartan2761 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for answering, I guess I can make the highlight tool wider & then clean it up afterwards.

    I have been using photo paint 9 to edit photos. I cut out the background a lot and it's very tedious on that program. I saw this video and then purchased Paint shop pro X6. It does not seem to have cutout lab. Do you know what's up with that?

    • @Coreldrawhelp
      @Coreldrawhelp  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      The first thing to check is that the "Bitmap" is selected. then the button should be active.
      Also make sure the object selected is a "Bitmap" not a Document Object.

      Just save the CorelDraw file and reload it and place any background you want behind the cut image. Save the .cdr file.
