Srinivas I am not against bramhins as a caste but the ideology that created manu dharma sastra where sudras were not entitled to read vedas,the main function of sudras was to serve other three castes(dvija born),this ideology called orthodox bramhanisn which prevented the spread of knowledge to the majority sections of society resulted in degeneration of our society in to dark ages

Caste consciousness / cast feeling/ Kulaspruha /Kulagazzi regardless of the name given, that is a social reality in Indian society. Not just Andhra Pradesh. This is a sign of a culturally backward nation. A person's identity should depend on his education/economy/achievements but unfortunately in India, 30 crores are illiterate and 30 crores are below the poverty line as well. So, what is their identity? Every person regardless of the ability, education, competence desires success, which is a natural emotion. Every person wants to feel proud and take pride in some thing. When one can not take pride in his education or economy or any other achievements , then caste comes to their rescue quickly. All those who are dialy laborers and illiterate but born into a so-called high caste take solace in being a higher caste. That is the background in which this caste consciousness and caste feeling needs to be looked at. And now, India , with one of the fastest growing economies in the world , is still a third world country, which is a reality. 1/4 of the population never went to any school and can not afford two square meals per day, how do you call that a developed country? With 16 times population density to a developed country like USA, it is only natural that there is ruthless rat race for every resource in India by the Indians. This competition and to be the fittest to survive, comes these non-sensical caste songs and caste anthems etc. etc. Solution? Education, education and more education. And then realize that 80% of India, real india is in 500,000 villages of india. India is an agricultural nation, invest in Agriculture, obtain modern methods and encourage people to take up Agriculture, and then India's economy improves. Unless education and economy are improved, these primordial loyalties will never end. IMHO. No personal abuse please.
