What I like about your videos is how you take the time to talk about all the details. So much time was spent designing these games.. All the detail I'm art sound and play is amazing.

I worked in the back box test dept. at Williams. Music and voice tests were fun. We had to crank it up for test. I salvaged a spinning cat disc with a slight cosmetic defect, still have it. NAUGHTY KITTY!
YOU ONE BAAADDD CAT! :D I worked in a bowling alley / arcade back in school. Those games with the voice attract mode would drive you crazy after a few weeks...
I tune them out, I have had Sonic the Hedgehog running in our store here now with the volume on in the background for about 5 years, lol. Of course it may have drove me crazy long ago and I just don't realize it :)
Let me tell you a quick story, I used to have a location with a guy who had a heavy lisp that ran it. He was a great guy, but he just happened to have a lisp. Anyways, I installed a "Manx TT Racing" in there, and the guy in the attract mode says "Manx... TT SuperBike!!!" with a lisp. So everytime I see that name I think about him and the announcer guy who sounded identical. It's fun how things like that can bring back memories :) There used to be a basketball game in that arcade (I don't know what the game was) that would shout CHADUNKSHOT! every few minutes. We never could figure out precisely what it was trying to say (maybe "It's a dunk shot") but it was the loudest thing in the arcade.
Now I'm going to have to figure out what game that is, LOL
I actually tried to look it up last night. I'm pretty sure it's 1986 Sega "Jump Shot". But the one in the video didn't have the strange pronunciation... Maybe ours had a badly adjusted sound board turned up too loud.
I believe that this is the last Williams single ball game. I have only had the chance to play this game once, but it was very fun.
I played this game many times when the bowling center in my city had it for about 6 months and one of my Special Olympic Coaches, who always seemed like to watch me play even though he was in his mid 60s already and he always seemed to chuckle when he would see the animated backglass of the woman beating the cat with the broom.
It's probably more for the people watching like him, because it's hard to see it when you're playing and watching the ball!

The backglass is really something special....
I worked in the backbox test dept at Williams. She would bend over with the broom, and the cat disc would spin. NAUGHTY KITTY! I still have a cat disc, saved from scrap.
Interesting, I have a bad cats pinball and the sound effects for the ramps seem to be back to front. On mine the Meow, Meow, Meow, Meow is on the short ramp, centure and the other sound affect for the long ramp. If you shoot up the tiger ramp and the 30k 50k 10k under the fishbowl ramp entry lite, might be sum switches the wrong way around.

Yup, we mentioned it above in the description, the ramps are plugged in backwards.
Nice! To be honest, I prefer to watch the gamepay with the room lights on.
Yeah it's a little easier to see on video with the lights on. More fun to play with them off though :)

Yes, for awhile there it cost them more to make new stuff so they reused it, I don't know if that was the case by 1989 though.
I recognize the playfield from Pinball Dreams for SNES. But the Pinball Dreams version was a railroad setting but identical to Bad Cats :D

The guitar has Dan on it probably because it was Dan Forden who did the sounds and music...the art on the machine is really good!
Wow how did you find a Bad Cats that was in a decent shape?
I always find the cabs and playfield wrecked.
This is the best I have seen out in the wild.
The top of the backbox was faded yellow so we put decals on the sides of the backbox but other than that it was in pretty nice shape.
We have one at our local barcade and thankfully it's pretty well maintained. It's a ton of fun but can be pretty cheap at times too. It's also very dark there, which is a shame, as it's almost impossible to see the ball when the lights start flashing.
Definitely have a love/hate relationship with this one, but when you get the feel of it it's very addicting!

Your ramp switches are reversed. The ramps are activating the opposite sides. Switch the wire harnesses underneath on the ramp switches.

You did a great job with that plexiglass covering the play field spinning wheel. I use a thick turtle wax (car wax) for plastic and plexiglass, buffs out nice. What did you use?
I'm pretty sure that little brat is aiming for his sisters butt (I would of been) and I'm guessing that is Mom/Housewife with the broom.
I also use wax, like a thick carnuba wax. Cleaned it right up!
I'm still figuring out what the call out is when you hit the trash can. "Whats out of the racket"?

Machine seems tilted to the right a little bit.
That's what I did and as you can see I was really rackin those points up!
And that's why I will never be a fan of late 90 's and so on pinball machines.
They put the chaos in the middle of the play field and nobody can't get a good game flow..
It's to cheap...
I do prefer the older ones myself!
