Dear Pascal, I love your podcast and all the analysts, strategists and even polymaths you invite to comment on geopolitical events happening right now, but I do differ markedly on one fundamental issue and that is your collective understanding of the role, function, attitude and business offering of your Western mass-media as follows:
I cannot understand why you guys have such a simplistic, naïve (childlike) almost country bumpkin view and understanding of the Western mass-media complex? I think you all expect it to be a 'certain thing' and behave in a certain way, when in reality it is (often by its own admission) a completely 'different thing.'
Your Western mass-media complex isn't value or ethically bound to present to you its audience what you and I understand to be the ;TRUTH,' Instead it is specifically and intentionally designed to represent the interests of the ruling class, at the expense of the 'lumpen.' It is owned, supported, bought and paid for by the ruling class and acts in their interests in the most obvious, brazen, unrepentant and 'Bernaysian' way and it doesn't pretend otherwise.
Why do we, the 'great unwashed' who don't own a single share or controlling interest in this media complex think that it owes us any favors brother? This is a simpleton's attitude, when the owners of the mass-media interpret all of life through the lenses of ownership and transactionalities. Think of the Western mass-media complex not as a 'tool' to condition or brainwash you and I, even though that is of ancillary benefits to the ruling class, but rather think of this Atlasian, ever-present entity as sharing a daily autobiographical account of how it (the Masters of the Universe) sees the world, how it wants the world to be through its own megalomaniacal vision of this world, built upon its own 'image and likeness.' It shares with us its own 'truths' because the ruling class's truths are different to ours in the same way that their hobbies, interests and sexual proclivities are different to ours.
To us, the ruling class's values are skewed, warped, delusional and insane. To them, we the earthly, common chattel cannot see what they, the 'gods,' the kings and the 'givers of life and death' see, in the same way that a lion can correctly claim that he and a household variety cockroach cannot hold the same views because they have different roles to play in our world. These 'ruling class' attitudes, outlooks and belief systems were inherited from ancient and medieval royalty, who held exactly the same deep-seated pathologies, reinforced over and over again by their generational abilities to shape people, society, kingdoms and events around them and of course, bolstered by their unending stream soothsayers, acolytes and secondary beneficiaries.
In the final analysis, they give us all the 'social constructs' they intentionally brainwash us to believe we need, like education (their versions of it), jobs, money, medical-aids, a house in crowded neighborhoods and a body of laws that restrains us and we' repay the aforementioned security by giving them the 'run of the land' and the keys to the kingdom.
