I agree with your statement. It looks more uniform and flat down the length of the hair with girls that have more of a loose curl or wave.But Type 4 girls have been pulling it off.

I’m 4a/4b and my hair turns out bomb with the wet look. I’ve been doing this for years before it became popular. Everyone’s hair texture reacts differently. You might have coarser strands and dryer hair

Since she's 4A it seems that's the only type 4 that can do it. She did get some shrinkage but it still look good.

It’s cute! I agree 4b/c type have no business with this style, lol! I have 4b/c type hair and it’s no way my hair would stay loose like that. I guarantee if I did this my hair would absolutely be slick down in the front but, but a Big fro in the back. Hay now that I think about it I think that would look cute with the fro in the back, I might have to try that
