Thank you Mike for your wonderful tutorials . I have bought a uke, an instrument I had never seen in my little French town . I love singing . "Les feuilles mortes" is one of my favorite songs and so are the others you have posted. I am French, 64, and as I never had any music lessons at school, I cannot read partitions . It is the first time I can be an autonomous singer ! You have changed my life, making me the happiest woman in the world. Please, keep posting tutorials .
my love of music started as I was still a child.. now that I am pensioner, I wish to realize my dreams. I thank you for sharing your knowledge, I have been your fan since I found your You Tube page. Now, I am enjoying my Ukelele with your BIG HELP!!!!!
What a fun playalong. Thanks Mike. We older people really appreciate your lessons on the classics. I like to play along with my home made tenor ukulele.
It gets even more fun if you can speed it up by 1.50x times. At least I prefer this song a bit on the fast side instead of in a slow melancholic tempo.
This is fabulous, Mike - so grateful. A beautiful old song, beautifully arranged for the ukulele. I just need the self-discipline to work hard on a few of your lessons, but I keep lapping them all up and just trying to play along.......wonderful, just wonderful! Please don't stop!
Bravo Mike ! great french ! been watching you on youtube for a couple of months now ! i love the work you do for all of us ukulele beginers. Merci du Québec !
Thanks for this beautiful cover. The chords are well explained, unfortunately the website you obtained the lyrics from kind of butchered the French part of the lyrics (wrongly spelled). Here is how it is spelled: "C'est une chanson qui nous ressemble. Toi, tu m'aimais et je t'aimais Et nous vivions tous les deux ensemble, Toi qui m'aimais, moi qui t'aimais. Mais la vie sépare ceux qui s'aiment, Tout doucement, sans faire de bruit Et la mer efface sur le sable Les pas des amants désunis."
Nice, José. Yo soy Anselmo José, 58 años, pero brasileño. El compay Mike és un gran cantante y "ukulelelista". Mi gusta mucho, mi encanta. Gracias, Mike. Gracias José.
Mike you are great! I am a newbee to the Uke so I find it hard to the follow the chord progressions as written. I find it easier if you were to show the finger position and fret positions as to the chords names.
Hello Mike! Thanks for the lessons. Why don't you upload tablatures anymore like you did for your previous lesson?Just wandering, because it would be of much help! thanks heaps! Cheers
These are the actual words for the French part of the song : C'est une chanson qui nous ressemble Toi tu m'aimais et je t'aimais Et nous vivions tous deux Ensemble Toi qui m'aimais, moi qui t'aimais Mais la vie separe ceux qui s'aiment (pronounce "s'aime") Tout doucement , sans faire de bruit Et la mer efface sur le sable Les pas des amants desunis I love your version of "les feuilles mortes"
Mike I just wanted to thank you for all the great instructional vidieos you have so graciously shared with all of us new ukers. You were the first channel I subed to and I come back often. Best regards and again thank you for your leçons. Aziz BAKRI
up, down , up down, but with a "swing" to it. I believe it is emphasis on the downbeat, slight hesitation and faster upbeat. Watch Mike's tutorial - 4 very useful strums in 4/4 time for the ukulele - th-cam.com/video/J_dIPS9R8kU/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for this Mike, must say, as a frenchman, that your french does need some improvement though :) hey try this great version by the great Yves Montand, lyrics included ! thanks again. watch?v=KmACgdU-KZQ
