I don't blame the guard for being upset with the tourists. They are showing no respect for him or the job he is doing. He is a trained soldier of the elite guard and deserves respect from the tourists. This is NOT Disneyland where you can do what you feel like doing. The horse is also on duty and also deserves to be treated with respect. They should ban the tourists from petting the horse.

They see others do it, so they feel they haven't fulfilled their duty as a tourist unless they touch the horse. I'm not sure why people feel their picture can't be taken unless they are touching something. Unfortunately this behavior turns the Royal guard into a babysitter while also performing his duty as a guard. Which should be his one and only job. A Royal guard, an honor given to few. People seem to not understand that.

I always wanted to be in the Queens guard and sit on a horse 'guarding' the Queen when I was a child in England (1960's). Girls couldn't in those days. Now I look at them being mobbed by ignorant tourists, not realising they have an actual job and aren't there entirely as a photograph 'must have'.

Those silly people who touch the horse or even get too near them act like they've been attacked by Godzilla if the horse even moves a little bit, snd some of them look st the guard as if he should do something! They're on duty, would they like random strangers touching them ir getting into their personal space? Such numpties 🙄

Imagine having to stand there whilst every Tom, Dick and Harry come at you from all sorts of angles and touch your nose, rub you chin or stick their fingers near your mouth in the belief that they are some kind of magically bloody horse whisperer
