Band BIO:
Lovebites is a Japanese all-female heavy metal band, formed in 2016 by former Destrose members Miho and Haruna. Its lineup consists of Miho on bass, Haruna on drums, Midori and Miyako on guitar, and Asami on vocals. After signing to Victor Entertainment, the group released both their debut EP and their first album, The Lovebites EP and Awakening from Abyss, in 2017 before performing their first overseas concerts at the end of the year.
FUN FACTS about band:
- Although hailing from Tokyo, Lovebites' music is heavily influenced by the new wave of British heavy metal which led their music to be compared to Iron Maiden and Rage
- The group frequently collaborates with former Light Bringer keyboardist Mao on composing and arranging songs.
- Haruna has played drums since she was thirteen years old, and began writing songs on a keyboard at fourteen
- Miyako has played classical piano since she was three and guitar since high school

Thank you for the bold statement. I totally agree, Asami is in a class of her own …. In this genre. Floor Jansen is arguably a more rounded vocalist, but to be able to perform for the best part of two hours with such power is astonishing to me. In a sane world Lovebites would be a household name and Asami recognised for the talent she is. Years of singing Jazz and RnB prepared her for this, and she’s proof that being power metal vocalist is up there as probably the most demanding of any genre… metal or otherwise.

I love everything about this group. their incredible talent of mucisien from the drummer to the singer, the musical influences, Metallica for this one, Gary Moore for Epilogue, Maiden for the Crusader, Savatage for Shadowmaker (the riff is very similar to the song Jesus save), or even the hard rock of the years 80 with Burden of time. But they also have their own style with a song like a frozen serenade or breaking the wall, and its incredible break in the middle of the solos, Dystopia Symphony from the last EP. These girls are just amazing and certainly the most gifted musicians girls around.

miyako, black-haired guitarist, graduated from the piano department of music high school, entered educational university, and started playing the guitar alone. meanwhile, midori entered pharmacy university but she gradually stopped attending university, she dropped out of university at the age of 20, and she began studying guitar at music school. miyako, who is supposed to be a teacher, and midori, who is supposed to be a pharmacist, have become the best female guitarists in Japan.
We're all owed to the metal textbook Miyako learned in about a year and the CD she borrowed from a metal corner. 🤘

Don't need the qualifiers. They are among the best electric guitarists in the world. Ironically, they are not even the best female guitarists in Japan. Haruka Noma, one on one, is better. But no band has ever had a duo better than M&M.

This old school metal tune is also good!!! I hope the LOVEBITES can find a good bassist after miho leaves. Women have smaller palms and weaker fingers than men, making it the most difficult to find a good bassist in a girls band.

I've never been their biggest fan, but I do hope their hiatus is short lived. Their talent is indeniable and the rock/metal scene needs them in it.
did not mean to disrespect Miho the founder and leader. But finding a bassist in power metal seems easier. It's a different story if it was Miyako who left the band or Asami. Because most of Lovebites' songs were composed by Miyako and Asami the lyricist.

@@yeheskielbramti4785 They aren't just a power metal band. They need versatility. Personally, I'd choose Haraguchi from Nemophila.
The big question is how Haruna is handling Miho's departure. They founded the group together after all. If they lose Haruna as well, that might be harder for the fans to swallow.
@@billb.5183 Haruna might have considered it when Miho decided to leave. But lately she's also been close to Asami and the fact that Lovebites has grown rapidly, I think Haruna must have thought twice.
The staff and management also told Miho to stay at Lovebites, but Miho said otherwise. After Lovebites' many achievements it is likely that other members and management will keep Lovebites. I mean many bands with lineup changes but can survive until now, Lovebites should be able to.

The Japanese and Koreans are the very best at staging concerts. The intro is on another level!! I think Lovebites is getting better concert support staff directly due to their international profile as I saw with Babymetal and Band Maid. You guys do know that their songs are sent to Finland for final mix and production? They want a European metal sound.

Watched an interview with Asami, she was so posed and professional. They talked about Miyako's idiosyncrasies, who marches to a different drummer, Asami said that "Every family should have a Miyako". Go to Miyako's TH-cam channel and you'll get it.
