That dollhouse your sister-in-law gave me is so beautiful you better take it upstairs before your kids finish tearing it apart if somebody gave me a doll house that look like that no kids would tear apart cuz I don't have nothing to live with me but I would lighten up the living room a little bit just cuz it would be much brighter in there or something I think it's pretty though thank you for sharing it

Ive been doing this hobby since I was 16 and Im 47 now,lol. I have several houses too.
I'm going to be 50 in July and now I'm more into it than ever. At 16, I was going through the motions of being a teenager and you know how it goes. Plus I grew up an apt in Brooklyn and space becomes tight. There is no way your parents save everything unless they had the storage space. Plus these house take up a lot of space. Now that I live in a house, I have the space, but I reached a limit of how many I can have. Thanks for viewing.

What a great little house can't wait to see how you design it I always want to have a doll house when I was younger I made one out of boxes when I was 9
A little more on the story. My sister Olinka had bought it from another person selling it in her area. It did originally have the front door and furniture but the person selling it took it off and put them up on ebay to sell. It was a bit of a crazy transaction to say the least but my sister decided to take it because as you see it was beautiful. The only thing Olinka did was to add the blue tile that I will be removing. The house came with all the wonderful details you see.
Beautiful house and yeah that is crazy the former owner took off the door to sell on eBay. I know you can renovate it and bring it to life again. :)

Oh how lucky are you! To bad your sister wasn't able to work on it. I too have bad arthritis in my body and my hands are in bad shape but I just do what I can and have breaks for days at a time. I so enjoy working with miniatures I just wish I'd done it many years ago on well better late than never. Take Care.

What about leaving the wallpaper up then cover the real damaged walls with a matching solid colour as a feature wall. Where do the stairs go on the stair set missing on first floor? I will so enjoy following your journey with it.

Good idea for the wallpaper. The stairs did not come with the house for the bottom floor. I like the stairs not being there. That provides more space for decor in the first floor. Unless I found a circle type stair.
I was gifted a dollhouse kit..I tried building a dollhouse for my daughter 20+ years ago and never finished it (to large for a beginner)...My question is, do you decorated and paint the walls before you put them up?...What is the easiest way to decorate, wallpaper, and paint?...
I like to get my house'spre- built. I have made room scenes. I do find that putting wall paper or pint prior to the attachment worked best for me. Trying to apply wall paper and flooring is a daunting task in a tght space and less forgiving. The trim and mouldings cant be helped but placed in the end to make sure of tight fit. Almost forgot...for me its easier to wallpaper because it has a nicer look and faster than painting. I look for small prints that work well for my scale. I hope that helps.
