    Good practical course of pole use in photogrammetry!
    Wouldn't It had been easy to avoid the shadows of yourself in the photos by walking and shooting in the sun's direction?

      Yes, actually I thought I made a comment about that while I was taking photos of the parking lot. You either have to hold the camera well in front of you or just turn slightly until your shadow is out of view. However, you’ll see that in the reconstructed model, the shadows hardly show due to blending of textures.

    thank you very mutch for this video.please can i know where i can buy a pole like yours.thanks again

      I bought mine at Home Depot but I guess that any place that has painting poles should work.

    Hey 3D-Forensics, will Hypersmooth-stablizer distort the image or is it okay to use?

    • @3Dforensics
      @3Dforensics  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is a good question but I would generally avoid it. Image stabilization is often shifting the image on the sensor and that means the camera parameters don’t stay fixed. I can see a case where it may work, but under normal circumstances where you have some control over the camera, you will likely try and avoid it.

    Purhaps I missed it but this is a GoPro and don't' they have some strange curved images that come out because of the wide angle? Did you straighten out the photos and video before importing into 3D mesh software or just take it as is? -- Thanks

      Most photogrammetry packages can now deal with a lot of barrel distortion. In fact, you can even use 360 images which have a very wide field of view and quite a bit of distortion. GoPros are no problem nowadays.

    What programs do you recommend for rendering? Any free or low cost?

    • @3Dforensics
      @3Dforensics  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you wish to simply create animations, then you can do this in CloudCompare, Blender, 3ds Max...either of those will do what you need usually.

    Is there a 3d model and process obtained with photos taken underwater using gopro?

    • @3Dforensics
      @3Dforensics  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The process above water or under it would be very similar. However, you have to deal with additional factors under water like how clearer the water is, particles, flash, different wavelengths of light reaching different depths…etc.

    Hi, what is wrong, when I have problem whit meshroom structure. Aftre 20 min. working writte me /fatal/ Initialization failed after trying all possible initial image pairs. :(

    • @3Dforensics
      @3Dforensics  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh my...not sure what is happening there. I have used Meshroom but would not say I am an expert by any means. Perhaps they have a forum or somewhere you can post?

    Which dslr camera or gopro camera use?

    • @3Dforensics
      @3Dforensics  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can use just about any model, but I am using the GoPro 7 in this video and I have a Nikon D7100 camera that helps me quite a bit.
