as you have mentioned freedom wars, we are getting a remaster of it to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the game's release. It will be also out on PC on 10th january next year
the combat looks INSANE. i loved playing the SAO games up to this one because of the feeling of being in the same world as Kazuto and them but THIS...from the mechanics alone looks very promising
Looks cool, but it's a shame if there is no custom character I think SAO is the perfect setting for a custom character. Also maybe it's only me, but I hate seeing the same character twice in the game, like three Kirito's.
I really wish we could create our own characters here like in Fatal Bullet. I'll only be playing as Sinon and a certain leaked dlc character for the Fatal Bullet nostalgia.
One thing I am absolutely hoping is they give us the option to play as the different avatars that the SAO cast used throughout the games. Didn't like Kirito's duel-wielding playstyle but absolutely enjoyed liked his Sword 'n' Gun combo? Make his GGO avatar playable. Liked duel-wielding but much preferred flying over being grounded? Make his ALO avatar playable too.
The only thing holding back this game for being the most perfect Sao game for me is not having character creation. they don't even need to have full-on character creation it can simply have a character that you can create and then copy the fighting style of already existing character you own and it's character level is the same as your player level and it's passive abilities are dependent based on the characters that you leveled up that way your incentivized to keep leveling up other characters to make the most perfect AC
Not having a custom character creator does feel like a massive downgrade for me personally. I do love how the gameplay itself looks though. Might scoop it up on a sale some day.

This honestly looks really good. It's giving me Phantasy Star Universe online vibes, which is very rare to find in 2024. This is the type of online content I wish Granblue Re:link had. If this is done right, and updated in a timely manner I could easily see myself playing this for a long while. I have never touched any of the SAO games, and have only watched the original arc and some of the gun arc, but I've always loved the world and characters. Not having a character creator is really killing my interest. Being able to create my own character is a big reason for why I ended up picking up fatal bullet. Im just not that interested in playing with the SAO characters.
You guys should just make your own video games then 😂 or play MMOs or something. Having self inserts to play as just ruins narrative purposes, it only makes sense when it has heavy multiplayer elements. In this case though even though it is a multiplayer game the emphasis is to play the character and it's roster like Tekken or something like that. Having character customization defeats that purpose. You're supposed to play as the characters from SAO, also why play a SAO game if you're not interested in the Sao characters? Go play a different game. Don't buy it. Also they let you customize the characters anyway and change their outfit so that's good enough. Also for comment above mine the purpose of wukong is to know about his story and his point of view so it don't make sense you don't play as him.

Glad to see that you are giving this game a chance as it has a lot of potential to become great. Fatal Bullet is a blast to play, and I liked the closed beta test for Fractured Daydream. I only have 1 single problem with this series: Let me make my own character. I don't wanna play the other characters in the show (lost taste for the show over the years), I do not want to reskin and rename Kirito and play his role on the story, I just want to make my own character and play alongside the other characters. Fatal Bullet is actually a game that allowed for this so if this one actually allows for the same thing then I might look at it.

EDIT: - is the story mode centered around Kirito or some new protagonist? - compared to SAO Hollow Realization, SAO vs Accell Word, SAO Lycoris, Grablue Relink, Genshin, Wuthering Waves, which one of those games does the combat compare the most? - is it fully open world like GTA, Genshin, Wuthering Waves? segmented "open world" like Tales of Arise? or stage based like Granblue Relink? - will there be NO gacha mechanics, like RNG stuff that limit the characters you can unlock unless you spend more? - is it a 4 character team game? like 1 player 3 AI like in most RPGs? or only human player characters similar to MMORPGs? - also, are there gonna be fanservice skins, dating modes and bed scenes like in the older SAO games? either way, it's looking like it might like be the best SAO game so far
Based on what’s been said, the story is from multiple viewpoints that eventually converge. So Kirito will still be a focus, but along with other characters. Combat is similar to Relink, but more freeform. The characters in SAOFD have unique mechanics, but their kits feel more situational and reactionary. In Relink attacks were neatly tied to a character's core mechanics, so it felt like each action had more of a deliberate purpose. The SAOFD characters still feel a lot smoother to play than other SAO games though, they’re fun. Still not sure how things are handled in the main story, but will most likely be stage based like Relink. They made a statement to say that there’s nothing like loot boxes in the game. Characters will most likely just unlock as you play, haven’t seen anything stating otherwise yet. The multiplayer mode in this game seems to be only online, not sure if single player mode will have the quest system. In single player you’ll have 3 other AI party members that you can freely switch between (4 total in team), but online it seems like it depends on the quests and matchmaking status. Empty slots get filled by AI in co-op and Raids, but Free Quests seem to be more flexible. You can be solo or in a party of 4 in that mode, with up to 20 players outside of your party just roaming the map. I need to find out if your other party members can be AI in Free Quests though. I haven’t seen any new skins yet, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there were fanservice skins. This game seems to be following the manga and anime timeline though, so unsure if the usual bed scenes will be there. But the previous game characters seem to be coming as DLC, so it could be possible.

Yeah, seems like it's in a rough spot at the moment. Some people that played the previous games didn't even know there was a new game coming. Maybe the new Anime will give it a bit of a boost.

It's going to be Freedom Wars for me. It would be incredible if they ported Soul Sacrifice Delta too. The entire appeal of the past SAO games for me was that they felt like offline MMORPGs that I could also connect with an actual person if I wanted to. This just feels like a mobile game to me. This will also be the first one that won't have a character creator. Freedom Wars hype train for me
Infinity Moment: The OG. Hollow Fragment: Expansion + remake of Infinity Moment. Lost Song: A Breath of Fresh Air, where movement is not restricted as an ability. Hollow Realization: A more complicated Hollow Fragment. Accel World x SAO: Basically a DLC of Lost Song. Fatal Bullet: The Best formula of a SAO game where spamming sword swings is optional and you are not Kirito. Alicization Lycolis: An even more complicated Hollow Realization. Last Recollection: Apparently, it wasn't the last. It's basically a simplified Alicization Lycoris Fractured Day Dream: Mixed Bag of previously released games.
i loved that game! was the first gacha game that i liked and stuck with for more than a few days, too bad it got progressively pay to win in like a couple of years though.
I was also a fan of Fatal Bullet, and quite literally no other SAO game lol. Fell off of the anime after the first season of Gun Gale(did it have more seasons? I have no idea. That's how out of the loop I am with this anime at this point) so I barely remember nor know half of these characters shown. One of the things that caught my attention with Fatal Bullet was being able to make your own character. While I'm sad to see that's not an option here, I gotta admit everything else looks pretty interesting so far. Dunno if I want yet another online game to take up my time, but I'll give it a shot this weekend. If I find a character I'm really into then I might just go ahead and hop fully on in.
I notice a lot of people asking this even though I don't know why there is literally a story mode trailer for this game so there is some kind of story mode
Looking forward to the ONT. I do hope the game can receive meaningful updates after release, and hopefully there's a roadmap at TGS. It'll be a fun first month though.
Yeah, I'm hoping that they're actually going to support it considering they've already laid this much of a foundation, but still going in with a bit of cautious optimism. Lets hope it gets the Xenoverse treatment, that game keeps coming back from the dead.
I didn't like lycoris that much, but it did get that sequel that had better fps but wasn't much different. That was when I kinda lost interest in the games, but this new game and the ont are looking great, so I'm gonna jump in immediately. Still miss the character creation system, though.
When will these game devs realize that ALL WE WANT is a Aincrad game, a MMO based on the first arc. give us a MMO, based on all 100 floors but make it HARD, any time you die, you got to restart.
I did the first beta test and they seriously need to improve the AI of your companions. They were straight up useless and at some points actively hindered progress. If the AI continues to be dumb than it will be a major issue if you can't get a full co op party for raids and quests.
Isn't those modes are online only content? Which means there at least 2 to 3 real players and considering this being a cross platform game matchmaking will not take alot of time Relink had a really well made Ai but it didn't had cross platfrom support
I wasn’t really crazy about SAO but man Fatal Bullet was fantastic so I’m glad the same developers behind FB are doing Fractured Daydream and probably the best choice since the other SAO games out are really lackluster in comparison

They haven't released much about the story yet, but a mission / stage based structure seems likely. It was mentioned that the story will be told from multiple perspectives though.
This game looks like a lot of fun. Only issues I see is the UI is way too cluttered and no custom character creation. All around I believe this will be a great game to play.

This is exactly why I hated Halo and Wukong couldn't make my own character and had to be a monkey or a spartan vs being a grunt or a bear

No Character Customization ? PASS, This game ONLY shined when you had your own custom character.
It's going to be Freedom Wars for me. It would be incredible if they ported Soul Sacrifice Delta too. The entire appeal of the past SAO games for me was that they felt like offline MMORPGs that I could also connect with an actual person if I wanted to. This just feels like a mobile game to me. This will also be the first one that won't have a character creator. Freedom Wars hype train for me
I hope the campaign has a world to explore with lots of quests

Accel World x SAO: Basically a DLC of Lost Song.
Fatal Bullet: The Best formula of a SAO game where spamming sword swings is optional and you are not Kirito.
Alicization Lycolis: An even more complicated Hollow Realization.
Last Recollection: Apparently, it wasn't the last. It's basically a simplified Alicization Lycoris
Fractured Day Dream: Mixed Bag of previously released games.
I hope I can enjoy this more than the Accel World crossover game. So far that's still my favorite in the franchise.

This game reminds me of the mobile game Sao Memory Defrag. its like they took the mechanics and variety of that game and put it into fetal bullet
i loved that game! was the first gacha game that i liked and stuck with for more than a few days, too bad it got progressively pay to win in like a couple of years though.
I was also a fan of Fatal Bullet, and quite literally no other SAO game lol. Fell off of the anime after the first season of Gun Gale(did it have more seasons? I have no idea. That's how out of the loop I am with this anime at this point) so I barely remember nor know half of these characters shown. One of the things that caught my attention with Fatal Bullet was being able to make your own character. While I'm sad to see that's not an option here, I gotta admit everything else looks pretty interesting so far. Dunno if I want yet another online game to take up my time, but I'll give it a shot this weekend. If I find a character I'm really into then I might just go ahead and hop fully on in.
I notice a lot of people asking this even though I don't know why there is literally a story mode trailer for this game so there is some kind of story mode

Yeah, I'm hoping that they're actually going to support it considering they've already laid this much of a foundation, but still going in with a bit of cautious optimism. Lets hope it gets the Xenoverse treatment, that game keeps coming back from the dead.

I didn't like lycoris that much, but it did get that sequel that had better fps but wasn't much different. That was when I kinda lost interest in the games, but this new game and the ont are looking great, so I'm gonna jump in immediately. Still miss the character creation system, though.
I feel like games like these should be categorized as a sub genre of MMO and we should call them SSMO games (Small Scale Multiplayer Online)
When will these game devs realize that ALL WE WANT is a Aincrad game, a MMO based on the first arc.
give us a MMO, based on all 100 floors but make it HARD, any time you die, you got to restart.

I did the first beta test and they seriously need to improve the AI of your companions. They were straight up useless and at some points actively hindered progress. If the AI continues to be dumb than it will be a major issue if you can't get a full co op party for raids and quests.
Isn't those modes are online only content? Which means there at least 2 to 3 real players and considering this being a cross platform game matchmaking will not take alot of time
Relink had a really well made Ai but it didn't had cross platfrom support

I wasn’t really crazy about SAO but man Fatal Bullet was fantastic so I’m glad the same developers behind FB are doing Fractured Daydream and probably the best choice since the other SAO games out are really lackluster in comparison
only thing abou this game is you dont have a coustom character like fatal bullet witch was cool casue you could make your own style of character

They haven't released much about the story yet, but a mission / stage based structure seems likely. It was mentioned that the story will be told from multiple perspectives though.
I loved fatal bullets, i got it when the game was almost dead, i also almost plat the game but couldnt because there was no one playing online😭

This game looks like a lot of fun. Only issues I see is the UI is way too cluttered and no custom character creation. All around I believe this will be a great game to play.
