I remember when this Angel City’s album can out. This songs is just as good today as when it came out almost 40 years ago. Doc Neeson was a great frontman. R.I.P.
I could be beaten to DEATH, I can't look the other way! Thank you for sharing this. Its been years, but I still remember. May the SUN of god provide and protect you until your transition from this world. Have a wonderful day,a day full of wonder. Lee.
One of the truly great and unheralded concept albums,. The lyrics, music, spoken word, the artwork, all spot on. It's not entirely true The Angels didn't make it in the United States. They had a few years in the early 1980s when their music was heard on college radio, and championed by a few rock stations, including some in and around LA and Seattle and New York City. 'Angel City' became so popular in Seattle in the early-to-mid-1980s, they were given the keys to the city and played sold-out shows at the Paramount Theatre. A lot of musicians who went on to form 1990s grunge and hard rock bands saw those Angels shows, or heard them on radio. 'Angel City' sound tens of thousands of copies of their albums via imports, including albums that didn't get a U.S. release at all. They influenced American music, particularly hard rock and grunge. Members of Soundgarden, Nirvana, Alice In Chains cited 'Angel City' in their early listening. Some of that general interest, back then, was carried over from AC/DC's Back In Black, and its enormous popularity. American DJs cast around for the 'Next Big Aussie Band.' But have a listen to the awesome, mostly improvised in the studio Watch The Red album sometime. You can hear grunge in there, way back in 1983. The Zoo/Name Dropping were completely unhinged songs amongst the often placid radio rock of the 1980s.
total agree opiumtrails, think this is close to one of the best Angel songs ever. In high school my mates and I had jam sessions in the music room at lunch times and we played this song. Loved it
This song was written and recorded 22 years before The Gaslight Anthem were formed. Brian Fallon was four years old at the time. What was that you were saying?

The Brewsters were in top flight at this point, 1984. This has to be one of their best albums and tracks.
