Ehh idk about that one they’re both hilarious characters but Tobias actually says stuff he doesn’t mean to or doesn’t realize. Michael knows what he’s saying a good majority of the time he’s just either a dick about or people don’t like it. He just tries to hard but he knows what he’s going for.

To someone whos never seen this show before there would be so much explaining.. The fact that this man is a father who only speaks in unintentional euphamisms, he has a daughter named Maeby whom he neglects, he is a down-on-his-luck actor whos just gotten the opportunity to play the character Thing and so is covered in rocks. He lives in a model home. His license plate is Anustart for "A New Start" but of course everyone reads it as "Anus Tart". And thats literaly just the background to set up for this 3 minute series of jokes. Its crazy how much the writers must have thought ahead.

Nah, Seinfeld is the king of this type of situational comedy. Curb Your Enthusiasm is also right up there with Seinfeld. I liked arrested development, but it was nowhere near Seinfeld and Curb.

I absolutely loved the original season 4. The way they tied everything together was incredible...the best joke of it all was George Michael's fakeblock reveal
I think the main thing Season 4 got wrong was the editing. The jokes and writing were phenomenal in season 4, and the story was woven together amazingly despite the timing difficulties with the cast. The only thing missing was the momentum of the first 3 seasons. Given the show was originally broadcast on TV in 20 or so minute episodes, it had to be executed in a specific way. Season 4 draws out scenes that would've otherwise been cut down or changed entirely. Its still amazing, but a tiny bit more awkwardly paced.
That's exactly it. Even this scene, which is one of the funniest S4 scenes, could've been significantly punched up with tighter editing. Like, did we need to watch the tv crew for like 30 seconds before Ron Howard explains "but there was a tv crew there"? No!
"Let's entrap a local..." is sheer brilliance. The men you saw on 'to catch a predator' usually avoided jail. They were legally entrapped, and could not be prosecuted.

Season 4 was not good, but I think this is one of the best written jokes of the whole series. Cried laughing the first time I saw this
