Completely agree, even though it's a Mont Blanc scent and it will hit discounters for about 50 dollars by christmas i liked it enough to purchase it retail.
I absolutely love the dry down of Explorer. Very woody and smokey with the citrus chilling in the background. You don't get a whole lot of projection. The thing I don't like about it the most is that it's basically gone after 4 hours on skin. Emperor Extriat-It's citrusy but has a fairly juicy quality to it. Even in the dry down, the pineapple takes more precedence over the woody/smokey. It'll stay on my skin for about 12 hours.
I put off getting explorer as I have aventus then decided to grab the 30ml to test it, so glad I did. Explorer smells great from start to finish. It’s not aventus & wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. Also brought a 100ml bottle so money is where my mouth is.
I owned the original Pineapple Vintage and my wife hated it, she told me I smelled like an old man. I picked up Explorer about 2 months ago and wore it last week and when I got home she gave me a hug and was like “mmmmm, I like this one today, what is it?” I enjoy it too. Aventus varies so much to the point where someone came into where I worked and I was like “somebody is wearing Sauvage” and they said nope, it’s Creed Aventus. As an everyday, versatile compliment getter, I enjoy Explorer more than Aventus and other variants
I love Explorer, I have 2, 100 ml bottles, hopefully they come out with a intense version , that would be great but I’m not holding my breathe, Mont Blanc doesn’t do that very often

Honestly for me explore is awesome, in the drive down to my nose it smells like Aventus I don’t know why some people say it doesn’t, it could just be the way it reacts to their skin. But honestly for me I have literally hundreds of compliments on it! And a few people they asked if I was actually wearing aventus ! Any way good video
Sotd is Explorer, it definitely smells different at times, I think it’s decent quality, when the price drops it might warrant a revisit and I can see it being a cooler weather fragrance to me.
I was definitely one who "Hated" on it when it first came out. After giving it a chance, I have found, I actually love it, because it takes some things I like about Aventus, and Sauvage, but just more wearable. Because here in Corpus Christi, anything with smoke or heavy woods just becomes unwearable during the summer months. So this is perfect for my area.
Explorer has a more masculine vibe than Aventus. It's less dandy with 5he same type vibe. It's better IMO and should be consistent lot to lot. The ambergris in Aventus proper drydown appeals more to men than women.

The aromachemicals in most scents aren't really that expensive. I have a few older creeds and had a decant of Aventus. The only time women really complimented Aventus and overly so was when I applied a spray of 5 percent plain ambroxan and then layered the Aventus over the top of it. Not by itself. Women do like CDNI strangely enough which IS a clone but not exact and it's $30 or less.
PVI is juicy pineapple on the opening and a bit smoky on the drydown..CDNIMBis closer to Aventus on the drydown... a massive compliment beast considering the cheap price
Club de nuit is garbage!!!!! People need to stop pushing these Arab fragrances they all suck and don’t last long at all the only clones that I had good experiences with are parfume vintage clones

I wore Aventus to the mall in Dallas and had random snow bunnies telling me I smelled sexy 😂. She walked across Nordstrom to find me. She followed that scent trail and found me. The same happened at working with Explorer! Do I Need to blind but PVI or Vanilla?
I agree 100% with your opinion about Explorer. I smelled it for the first time this weekend. Similar to Aventus but has a harsher opening. The dry down, although similar to Aventus, has something about it that off putting to me. L’Aventure sometimes has that same unpleasant note in my skin too. (Other times it smells great...weird).

CDNIM just kills it for me. Easily best clone even if it’s got its haters. Not sure about new bottles, but 2017 or earlier bottles with the silver sprayer are so good, bordering on beast mode. Harsh openings we know, but once it settles down after a couple of minutes it rocks with you for hours on end IMO.
The CDNIM EDT i own has the production date of December 2022, at first I thought it was weak an smelt kinda sour but after about 2 or 3 months of using it, it definitely got better an I like it just as much or more than my 2019 bottle of Aventus, I also own the CDNIM Limited Edition Parfum an that one is amazing too, I just ordered PV Vanilla intense and if I like that one I might order the emperor extrait if they are better than my limited edition parfum ,very curious for the quality of PV I keep hearing its the best
It's magic in the dry down I just struggle wearing it gives me a headache just far too chemical smelling for me personally I sold my bottle reluctantly after using about 20ml I bought explorer and can wear that no problem but it's not close to Aventus like cdnim is. But like it for it's own fragrance
If you want an amazing fruity opening with an Aventus vibe go with cedrat Boise dosnt smell like Aventus but it's in the same ballpark great quality and performance too

Emperor Extrait is identical to my 2015 Aventus but stronger and lasts until the next day. Explorer is so far removed that when I first smelt it I laughed out loud in the store attracting attention to myself. Its about as close to Aventus is as a cat is to a dog. Weak smelling and uninspiring.

It doesn’t have good performance at all either. If people want a clone of Aventus they need Emperor. Either EDP or the Extrait. They both smell closer to the old Aventus then the newest batches of actual Aventus do and it outperforms Aventus by a long shot.

Sounds like you got sauvage in an aventus bottle. Also the original pineapple vintage isn't nowhere near as good as emperor extrait.

Emperor Extrait smells exactly like my 2016 batch of Aventus at the dry down. The opening is very close, but the dry down is even closer.

Yeah, it's somewhat similar to the drydown of aventus, but it still has it's own unique profile from Aventus.

Pineapple vintage intense and Club de nuit intense are still the most complimented aventus clones for my skin👍🏻👍🏻
