Konstantine is a great, friendly guy. Interviews not in his native language are not what he wants to do but he did me a favour here and i think now people will be able to understand the guy much better. He has a real chance of podium at WSM 2021. By the way you don't often see these guys with normal sized people, for perspective - he's 170kg/375lbs and I'm 84kg/185lbs.
@German PowerlifterThey are all married, family people. Personally, i'm fine with what any of them do, people should live and let live as long as it doesn't hurt others. It's about their performance in strongman contests in front of paying audiences that we have more of a right to critique.
@German Powerlifter Stoltman brothers and gay wibes? Bro, both of them are in hetero marriage! Tbh I don't know why does it problem that Kearney is openly gay, at least even the LGBTQ+ community is more likely watching strongman competitions and joining to the sports. I hope I will see a RuPaul StrengthRace in my life, where the bottom two have to deadlift for her life at the end of every competition.
@German Powerlifter Honestly I would be more concerned that you hate anyone. But here's the thing - why do you think big strong men whose masculinity is beyond question behave more openly affectionate while smaller more insecure men don't? It's because most men who act macho are just insecure, not because real men are macho. Kearney's choices are between him and his God and your hatred is between you and your Creator too. Please get it out of your system. You don't have to like anyone but you should not hate - love and want the best for everyone alike, both friends and enemies.
Was excited for this one! Janashia is another one of those guys you don’t hear too much about especially their background before strongman. Thanks for doing these Matt
Man Janashia has such an adorable accent that doesn't fit the terrifying look of him 😂😂💪💪 Long live the Georgian bull and thank you so much man for hosting such a great athlete and sharing these times with us.
I really love the interviews you’re getting here. I think sometimes you’re a little quick to fill in their response or lead them to certain answers. It looks like it’s because of the language barrier. Just a little more patience. All in all, great stuff.
Excellent, I've been put to work decorating by the wife, so this will be great to listen to! Excellent channel as always! P. S... I will also have big traps after the amount of roller painting I'm going to be doing today!
@@MattRhodesSport at least she ensures I make linear progression.... Start off with a mini roller, then a large roller, finally maxing out with a roller on a pole!
Another good one Matt 👍 can't believe you've only got 17k subscribers, you definitely deserve 100x more than that, for all the quality content you're uploading
Here is another interesting interview that might be worth watching. He talks about his peak strength and his best gym lifts. Zydrunas claims he thinks his powerlifting total would be 1200kg if he focused on it.
Thanks mate, he's really a nice guy off camera and he settled in to this interview once we got going. I have a rough idea in my head of things i should ask but generally speaking just go with the flow of what would be interesting for me to hear from them and hopefully therefore other people too. I see when journalists give these guys very structured questions that they don't want to talk more than a couple minutes.
Matt Rhodes Sport, not the hero we deserve but the hero we need. Joke aside, Matt it's so nice of you doing these interviews. Strongmen has been a passion for me since I'm a little kid. I'm 31 now and I'm delighted with your content. Keep up the good work mate ! 👍 I think one day you should speak about yourself, where that passion of yours come from for strongmen. Interview yourself in a way... I'm sure I'm not the only one with many questions for you. It's just an idea for content, but do as you please ! If you prefer not to open yourself about your life, I do respect that! I'm just curious, that's all. Take care and stay safe 💪😎
I could not understand his explanation of his traps. The language barrier and the audio quality made it tough. I saw a different video from him explaining it that was also hard to understand. He mentioned that another Russian weightlifter has the same condition. My assumption was that it is scar tissue from dropping behind the neck overhead press onto his shoulders. I previously thought it was synthol, but I doubt that now.
He said they naturally developed like that without specific training and that he'd just recently went and got a doctors prognosis where they found they are 50% fat and 50% muscle. They help with squat and yoke.
Man i cant stop staring at Janashia's thighs i mean yeah he's a giant of a man but those things look like trees specially looking at Matt sitting next to him puts it into perspective knowing that Matt is by no means a small dude
Absolutely man, i would guess you as 80 something KG and 176 CM and that shocks me more to know that he's over 165 KG and if i remember correctly he's around 196 CM
You got outangled again, Matt :) I haven't actually seen one of those professional strongmen in real life, but I assume they are massive. What is your bodyweight, if I may ask? I myself am a puny 80 kg, so that makes Janashia more than twice my weight, most of it probably muscle mass. Shaking his hand might result in crushed bones.
@@MattRhodesSport Unless you're planning on competing I think you're better off. Just stand beside smaller people. Or learn how to use angles like instagram models lol - you could probably look bigger than Brian Shaw then!
His English is fine...! He should do more interviews in English. He's a fan favorite...I hope he knows that...
Agreed mate
He's always a wild card, it's fun seeing him compete.
