A fun idea would be a take on the "I have to keep reading until I get a 5 star" but you have to read a friend's recommendations until you get a 5 star.

As a casual Wheel of Time fan: I'D LOVE TO SEE YOU DO A FIRST AND LAST VIDEO!!! Would be really interesting to see how someone interprets the series from those two books alone . (And tbh, pretty envious of anyone who does not have to endure The Slog ™️. 😂)

Omg, I LOVED “What You Are Looking For is in the Library.” It really inspired me in several areas of my life. I wish everyone would read it! And I can’t wait for you to read Watership Down! It is one of my all-time favourite novels. I first read it in high school (like 25 years ago 😬) and have read it multiple times over the years. It is SO GOOD, and the book is much better than the movie. I actually just started rereading it again a couple days ago, and it felt like settling in to comfy chair with a cup of hot chocolate for me lol.

Here's a fun series for you, Gavin: Friend-Ship It or Forget It! You read books from your friends and rate them. Then, you do one of those "Like this or That" type segments at the end, where you have the choices to the left or right of you, you hold up two books, and you walk in the direction of the books you "shipped"... Or dance. Or skip. Lol
Great video. Sounds like you have some very bewitching things going on! Can't wait to watch.

if you want a straight up horror novella, it's part of a collection, but Emil Bones is an amazing horror novella in At Home with the Horrors by Sammy Scott. It's a very good collection overall, but Emil Bones is chef's kiss. If you want to combine fantasy and horror, then Prosper's Demon by KJ Parker is a great one!

    • @TheHammy1987

I've read "What you are looking for is in the library" and I really enjoyed it! I was not sure what i was expecting, but i loved how it was put together and the different characters that we get introduced to.
I had a lovely friend let me borrow her copy and it this is one of those books I would like to buy and own myself.
I've also read a few books by Japanese authors, and I just love the writing style. Before the Coffee Gets Cold is really lovely and reminds me of this novel that you are about to read. But I can 100% recommend The Traveling Cat Chronicles. It's one of my favorite books, and I ate it up so quickly.

The Crossroads song you're thinking of is by Bone Thugs N Harmony. I have no idea how I remembered that since I don't think I've heard it since it came out lol.
Good luck with 'Nothing But Blackened Teeth'! I'm in the hated it camp. I think at the time it had good reviews and the premise sounded amazing so I nabbed it... and was disappointed. I can't remember much of it now, though I don't want to say anything that would influence or spoil you either. But I feel like horror books are definitely subjective anyway. It depends on what you find scary, if you're into atmospheric vibes, and even who you want to survive.
I always love your video ideas since you seem to have fun doing them and I sometimes even find some books to add to my TBR. I'm really looking forward to the Titanic ones and the eras of horror (Phantom of the Opera is a good read! But I also love the musical and even love the movie with Gerard Butler). I'm also one of the people that love the Heroes of Olympus series more than the original series, though that one is still great, so I'll look forward to your take on those as well.

The song was a brain worm when it came out. It basically embedded itself into our DNA. It's why, even though most of us cannot remember the lyrics (other than the chorus), our bodies will literally start to bop to it. Ah, the formative mid 90s.

Camping wise I stayed somewhere last year in Keswick which was really reasonable priced and quiet when we went, I’ve also been to somewheee in Jedburgh which had a very big field so you could be at the other end of the campsite and it wouldn’t be that much of an issue if you were screaming 😂
