Today we are creating a digital acrylic pour painting in Procreate, which looks a bit like a flower! When I started out I did not intend for it to be a flower but that is how it turned out, with wispy tendrils for petals and a gold metallic centre, so I just went with it. Enjoy!

perfect!! thank you!
You've outdone yourself with these brushes, Alaina.
Thank you! 🥰
Love this tutorial I had no idea how to use so many of these features until now💕💕💕
I'm glad it was helpful!
I like the (nearly) black background here. I definitely need to watch some videos about acrylic pour art to better understand exactly what these brushes simulate so I can use them to their full potential. Thanks!
Watch out, it's super addictive! "Real life" acrylic pour videos are so relaxing, I watch them before bed sometimes. I've got more tutorials coming as well ☺️
Hi Alaina, lovely as always but I’m finding it difficult to create something that I’m pleased with using these brushes. Totally my lack of artistry so would appreciate some more tutorials using these. Love all your brushes, I have them all!
Thanks for your feedback Janey! I have lots more tutorials and techniques in the pipeline for coming weeks. I think we are definitely our own worst critics though - keep creating for the enjoyment of it and that's how your intuitive stye develops!
Another beautiful blob! 🥰 I haven’t created anything I’m super happy with but I’m fairly new to Procreate. Each attempt I make gets me closer to creating a “beautiful blob” and I’m having fun. Your tutorials always give me new ideas to try. Thanks 😊
I always find that we are our own worst critics! I'm so glad that the tutorials are helpful! Thanks to you as well for sharing this journey with me 🤗
Hi Alaina, your creations are such inspirations. Although I am by far no artist, your videos give me hope that perhaps I can finally be creative. Are you using the 11" or 12.9" Ipad? Thank you sooo much for sharing!!!
I'm sure you're more of an artist than you think you are! 😉 I'm using a 12.9" iPad Pro from 2020.
Can you do an acrylic pour tutorial where it covers the whole canvas? With less ripples. More blended color transitions. And cells. Thanks
Thanks for your feedback! I do have a whole canvas tutorial with blended color transitions from about two weeks ago: th-cam.com/video/R_TJIHhFFeg/w-d-xo.html
Vere helpful as always. Thank you. I have a question about the canvas size. If I paint on a 20x16 canvas, can I resize it to a 24x18 or larger size later?
Hi there, I'm glad it was helpful! You should create your artwork in the largest size that you intend to use it, and then size down rather than up. This is because the sizing up usually results in quality loss and pixelation, whereas sizing down does not.
Alaina Jensen thank you. The largest size canvas I can use on procreate is 24x30 which only gives me 6 layers to use. Is there any trick you know to make a larger canvas on procreate? Thanks again
Sorry I don’t know any trick for making the canvas bigger unfortunately - the size is dictated by the iPad you have and how much memory it has in particular. So in this case, I would recommend using this largest canvas size available, and if you want to print it larger than that you can always see how it turns out.
