What a neat area! I like all the different opportunities there are to get out on the water and go for a boat ride. The eggs benedict looked amazing too!

I see the water as a defining feature of this area! But the vineyard blew me away!

Someone being positive about my hometown? Impossible! Hahaha, Almere gets a lot of hate that it doesn't deserve. Sure, it doesn't have a long history, but in my opinion that's what makes it unique! It's designed to be modern and livable.
Just found your channel! Glad I did :)
If I can be bold: I do have a few recommendations for if you're planning on visiting Almere again:
    - Stichting Aap / Stadslandgoed de Kemphaan (pretty cool place where they take care of monkeys and primates that need care, with some great gardens and a small partially indoor zoo)
    - Oostvaardersplassen (largest swamp area in the country, nature reserve, great for seeing some wildlife or going for a picknick )
Anyways... Thanks for bringing to light some of the nice things about this place! Gained a new sub :)

Thank you for this nice comment and for the suggestions! Sadly, we didn't have time for the Oostvaarderplassen or we would definitely have shared that as well :) And I didn't know about the Stichting Aap / Stadslandgoed de Kemphaan until afterwards and I was actually kind of sad I missed it! Luckily, it's close by so we can come back whenever!

I have lived in Rotterdam for twenty years, Zeist for six years, Rotterdam again for seven years, Amsterdam for seven years. But Almere is the place for me. Great housing, nature, central in the Netherlands, comfort of living for 20 years and counting...

Other than the vineyard? In the city center there is a Leonardo Hotel that was nice!

Eggs benedict are in my opinion the most important American contribution to civilization 😋

I lived in Almere. Within 1 year I wanted to run away from there screaming. Before I moved people already warned me not to move to Almere. And then I lived in a neighborhood known as good for Almere. In Almere the weather is worse than average in NL. Also too much; nuisance, strange snouts, asos, crime, racists, cold aloof unreliable unfriendly arrogant people. The atmosphere there is ridiculously boring and depressing! However, you do have space there and many beautiful houses that don't look alike.
