Tbf, Lucifer lifting the Fat Spider off the ground could be explained as Hysterical Strength. It's one of those cases where mothers find the unnatural strength to lift a car to save their children from harm etc. And considering how unique this relationship was for Lucifer it would go fairly unquestioned if this was the explanation behind his sudden strength. I mean Frank quite literally represented God if he actually was there for Lucifer and if Lucifer was ready to listen to his explanation.
I have seen more than five reactions to this episode, why does everyone cut out the part where Lucifer and Chloe play piano together? Its one of the best scenes with Dekerstar.
It's my understanding that if you commit a sin, you can't just pray and say "I'm sorry" and it's all good and then you get to go out and keep sinning again. If you aren't truly sorry and repent from what you did wrong, then you aren't actually asking for forgiveness. So, Pat's point that you can go out and do something bad then just pray and repeat isn't exactly right.
My fav episode from the season, also Tom Ellis's dramatic talent really shines here. Lucifer's angry speech on the balcony is pretty great and one of the best dramatic scenes in the first season, I think. Also liked both piano scenes - with father Frank and Chloe. First was really cute and funny, showed that even such different characters can be friends when find something common, in this case music. Piano scene with Chloe is also very cute and shows how she started to care about him, she even cancelled her date with Dan to come to the Lucifer's place and comfort him. From now on they started to be true friends

This episode has one of my favorite lines: "People always say that [that it's God's plan]... why does everybody always think it's a *good* plan?" Very thought-provoking. I also love how Malcolm's been a total dick up to this point, just sarcastic and messing with Dan, until Amenadiel seeks him out and reminds him of his time in hell. The shift in Malcom's attitude is huge. He stops with the smart-ass comments and seems very very afraid. It sets a great tension and darker tone. (Plus, wow... Amenadiel just put out a hit on his own brother. Is that angelic behavior? Hmmm....)
this ep is in my top 5 from this show.. the actor that played the priest was great, he sold his part flawlessly, and his piano duett bonding moment was great (wich you have cut out)...

Most of what is held in Catholicism does actually have reasoning outside of its own dogma. Not all of it is strong, and I certainly find their reasoning for not having female priests really weak and weird, but most else does have reasoning. Fun bit about homosexuality is that it, in and of itself, is not a sin. It's the sexual act that is considered sinful, and it is categorically the same as simply using contraception, having premarital sex, or any of the other associated sins related to it. So a homophobe who uses religion to condemn gays but uses condoms is committing the same sin they are condemning. Key thing I believe most Catholics and Christians in general fail to remember is that we are all sinners, the point is simply to try to do better, to find and do good. I mean, while it caused an uproar when the current pope said it, it is actual Catholic doctrine that I learned all the way back in around 5th grade in Catholic school (so '96-'97), but within the confines of the religion, members of other religions and even atheists do have the potential to go to heaven (just as Catholics/Christians can go to Hell). It is just considered more difficult without the same guidelines. Interestingly, Catholicism does not necessarily view religions like Buddhism as wrong, just possessing a different goal and end destination that is different (Nirvana and Heaven are way different).

The odd things... Jews didn't have a Hell. Nor did they have a Devil. They didn't, and I think still don't, have an afterlife. Heaven was for Yahweh. Humans don't go there. Earth was meant to be paradise, and may be again. What they hope for is incarnation in a body again. The evil, well, don't get that. Jesus was always very specific about the Next World being right here. The idea of Hell comes from Christisn folklore. It grew on interpreted words until it became realer than THIS world. I mean, look at all the stuff we "know" about Hell and the Devil. It grew mostly from word of mouth, Dante's Inferno, and Milton's Paradise Lost. Neil Gaiman took his Lucifer from Milton, straight. The idea of torturing people for eternity is sadism of the highest order, amd a god who made it would be no better than a devil.

This show is boring man. I'm on season 2 and I can't continue. How is Klaus from the originals more intimidating than the Devil.
I finished it all but I truly hated the scooby doo like episodes repeating
because that show is full of BS power scales especially the witches. They are literally OP and yet treated like slaves and are the most pathetic UNTIL the plot requires the convenient BS spells they have suddenly the are relevant again. Klaus literally got fked hard by everyone alot of times , His powers are also comes and goes when the plot requires otherwise nobody can do anything to him.

@@Micheal93k To a fanboy of that show that doesn't want to see what is wrong with the show i would assume my reply or replies won't ever make sense to you no matter how many times i write them but in the hope to make it as simple as possible at least the devil in this show has a power that is consistent with the plot of the show. On the other hand klaus is 90% of the time is somehow weak given that he is the most powerful then suddenly becomes so powerful that even the people that fked him up before don't stand a chance. Just look at TVD and how many time he lost by humans, witches and vampires who were almost 900 younger than he is.
