WHAT IS EVE ONLINE?

I've used that same fit for years. It was my first L4 mission running BS. Some times I would use PDS in the low slots and a AB instead of a MWD for a bit more buffer and reduced signature radius if the missions was tough. You can drop sentry drones and orbit them if you want also.
When L4 missions first came out (2005-ish?), raven was by far the go to ship to run them. They got stupidly expensive due to the demand. I think this was also before the missile changes/support skills came out, so missiles always did about the same damage regardless of ship size/speed. They were great, nice tank, nice damage, but slow af.
I love how you’re just chilling. You’re killing literally thousands of pirates and crew while casually simulating battleship fits.

This fit is my end goal for my Caldari character
Raven was the first battleship i ever flew in eve online. the range is what make this ship great for me. 103km taregting range with cruise missles. able to do massive dmg from so far away. in a battle ship is nice.
While I use a Navy Scorpion now, I started L4s in a Raven. I would suggest that if you are going to play with things, keep the booster, and go for either the MWD or the Jump Booster and then slow boat about at range, then jump boost back to the gate in multi-room missions. If you use the jump drive, remember to let it spool back before jumping to the next room! I rarely used the laser sights, so mine would probably have a shield boost enhancer and a cap battery instead. Note a lot of this was years ago, seek the counsel of folks who have been playing more recently, and don't be afraid to adjust things to your style of play! My .02 isk on the subject! ;)
I run a cheap Raven as my main L4 runner. I get ~1100 DPS with Cruise Missiles and Drones. I think i get 175 kms range with my Rage Missiles. But my Char is max Cruise skills. It is insanely fun.
It's the highsec crab ship, the raven even has the big claw and small claw :D

Last I knew, all the state issue ravens were still in existence... but they (like all the other limited edition battleships from those early tournements) are effectively never going to undock from where ever they're in storage
Torps and more torps. 50k range and 800 dps with ok tank . It's a really good ship
It's still recommended to go Drake -> Raven, just because passive shield tank is so easy to do compared to armor with cap booster.
I upgraded from my raven to a golem recently, its slightly faster but the raven is still king of entry level lvl4 missions. Might "upgrade" again to a barghest or vaurgur soon. I also need to test out using torpedos on the golem after the recent application changes
5:27 What hotkey is the radial direction move thing that you do here? It’s the blue circle that grows with the range to your ship.

Just brought one after watching this (Nav issue) good vid, just stay ranged.
Always had a Raven then onto the CNR good damage with cruise missiles to.
Limited edition ships are a hot target . By the time they pop on gankers' scanners they are hunted . But unless you are a collector find a way to use them and have all the fun you can. I realised that watching sone pvp videos with some. Sure it was a shame they got destroyed but most had a killing spree before getting popped and their pilots had all the fun they could .
So as always do not fly what you cannot afford to loose but have fun with whatever you can.
I havent tried a Raven yet, currently running L3 and L4 missions in a Rapid Light Missile Orthrus, 616 dps with a flight of Navy drones and T2 ammo if needed, but T1 ammo and 470dps is good enough TBH; over 2,000 m/s helps make up for the short range (55km), and greatly reduces the incoming damage.
I've not run into an L4 mission where this wasnt enough yet, although I havent had a couple of the trickier Guristas missions yet.
I suspect a Raven might be too easy mode - like the Bharg and the Rattle; great at first, but getting a bit boring after a while.
Excuse the stupid question. But don’t 1.3M ISK sound a bit low? I thought l4 missions would get you more.

Careful you don't get overconfident, got sick of a rat stealing my winter nexus loot in a Domi and decided to hell with it and retaliated... Raven bites the dust, neuted and quickly turned into a sitting duck by the Domi in high sec. Lesson learned.
You ran into a griefer, PVP fit is always going to win; they dont want the loot, they want YOU.
New player and I unlocked L4 security missions. Won't be able to afford a BS, not for a long time, so choosing a BS is a big decision. As much as I like the aesthetics of the Rokh or the brawler-like style of the megathron, I feel compelled to get a Raven just so I can make $$$. Wish there were more of a selection of BS or customizable aesthetics.
You could start with Praxis to keep your options open. No BS is going to be great until all your support skills are levelled up first anyway (including raven), so using a jack-of-all-trades-master-of-none platform to start wouldn't be a terrible approach, at least until you nail down your preferred play-style, which should dictate skill training focus (guns vs missiles vs drones, shields vs armor, etc).
How do you deal with frigates in a Battleship? Wouldn't cruise missiles be overkill for anything below bs?

That's a net negative. For hundreds of millions of extra ISK.
Issue with this ship is in missions like worlds collide or pirate assault you cant outrange the huge amount of bs
I just got a barghest for l4 missions and its so good i got t2 cruise missiles and I just snipe the enemies

@@trumpsextratesticle8590 what Do you mean? You are way faster in an marauder plus you got the traktor Bonus and you can salvage your Mission while you are shooting at pirates.
how does this fit do with l4 missions that drop you ontop of the enemies
I use a jump drive so jump 100km away and launch the missiles at the rats, never lost a Raven in L4s. Lost one recently in PvP due to losing my temper at a loot thief 😂
How you deal with Gankers? You change fits? When you travel?

I hate the Alpha/Omega clone system. I have alts which I levelled so I could get R&D agents for passive ISK. But whilst I have great R&D points you cant get it out unless those alts are Omega. Very annoying.
Is it just me but EVE combat is like:
1) Warp in
2) Lock targets
3) Fire weapons
4) Leave
Only in missions and if you fitter for me mission accordingly
