Total side note: On Valentine's day we brought home the stray cat we've been feeding, after getting him neutered, vaxed, dewormed, and checked out.
He's our fifth furbaby, all rescues.

The government should give them money for the work they do, as the police don't drive or scan the rivers for the missing people

@@Corvid80. If NUG talked with an Ukraine accent he would be able to get 1/2 million dollars! If he said he was an Ukraine citizen and he was doing this type of work, neither one of them would ever have to worry about money again!
No one wants to pay for it. You would think a number of counties could band together. But a lot of places won't even outfit their police dogs with vests! Do you scream about high taxes? If we knew where money was going, we might pay. These days so much gets wasted.

And without challenging that specific thought: I don't want you to experience that freedom will be taken away. It is really hard to get it back. Just appreciate Nug. He is a hero.
Those of us who grew up near Texarkana, were all taught that the Red River is "bottomless" because of the horrible mud. If you go in, you generally don't come back out. It's horrible. I hate you had to dive it.

Nug disappears in the mud and is never seen or heard from again. 😢. Be careful out there you guys and take care of each other. You are doing good work. That kitty is a tortoise shell calico and a girl. I had one like her and she was amazing. Glad to know someone rescued her

Nug you’re in my old town wear I was raised. Now I’m living in Georgia. I remember when she went missing. Thank you for all you both do. There are a lot of people missing in Texarkana.
And more are coming up missing, I’ve been on several searches in the past few months without success. The latest was an older gentleman with dementia, over one hundred people looked for him along with drones and dogs.
I cross those bridges twice a day. The Red River in our area has 2 major floods since she disappeared ( That I can remember). It flooded hundreds of thousand acres all down it. To the extent that 71 was completely shut down and impassable. If a car wasn't completely buried and hidden. It could honestly be down river regardless of where it entered the water at. I was soo excited when I saw that ya'll were here. I prayed the whole time you could help find answers.. Praying for her family now.

it’s absolutely amazing how many cars (sometimes even the missing person) have been found in smaller bodies of water. (i don’t mean small, just smaller than the ocean). thank goodness for the equipment to detect cars under water & the volunteers that find these cars & sometimes the people still inside them

I live close to Red River in Lamar County, Red River cause of Red Dirt color, very Sandy , dangerous with inter tows. Flooded really bad in 1990. But gets up with bad currents. Be careful.

The Red is normally a low water river. When there's a drought it's real bad. But every once in a while we get a lot of rain and the Red River fills up.

I live in Gadsden, my Mom actually watched yall handle the old case of the Bronco in Coosa River from the missing man who worked for Goodyear. We also had the Virginia Collier case too, here in Gadsden, AL.

For the young people watching: there were NO cell phone towers because, there were no cell phones. No anti- theft devices. Very few people owned a home computer.
Imagine that?!! It was a better time for sure. Hanging with your friends under a street light, riding bikes, playing music.
30 years ago I would have been 37 Definitely had cell phones definitely had a computer.
@laureenmcgrath3016 I would like to see pictures of them. Everyone in our neighborhood in Kansas City were amazed at the advancement in technology when a businessman on our block got a Pager in 1994. (30 years ago) Home computers existed but, you needed a house phone for dial-up and they cost around $1,000.00. Most people in 1990 were amazed at how a Cordless house phone worked

After watching the other channels that have the same basic information ,it is easy to see the difference between yours and the others , one seems over emphases the difficulty , and danger of what they are doing. The other one seems to spend a lot of time patting it's self on the back , belittling , the others involved but they always get a bunch of plugs in to raise money.

The Red River floods a lot from where you were it flows all the way up into Canada
For what it's worth, Bringle lake didn't change at all between 1987 and now. Google Earth shows almost identical shoreline over the years.
