Born on the Isle of Man to English parents, the Gibb brothers lived in Chorlton, Manchester, England until the late 1950s. There, in 1955, they formed the skiffle/rock and roll group the Rattlesnakes. The family then moved to Redcliffe, in the Moreton Bay Region, Queensland, Australia, later to Cribb Island. After achieving their first chart success in Australia as the Bee Gees with "Spicks and Specks" (their twelfth single), they returned to the UK in January 1967, when producer Robert Stigwood began promoting them to a worldwide audience. The Bee Gees' Saturday Night Fever soundtrack (1977) was the turning point of their career, with both the film and soundtrack having a cultural impact throughout the world, enhancing the disco scene's mainstream appeal. They won five Grammy Awards for Saturday Night Fever, including Album of the Year.
The Bee Gees have sold over 220 million records worldwide, making them among the best-selling music artists of all time[8] [9]. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997;[10] the Hall's citation says, "Only Elvis Presley, the Beatles, Michael Jackson, Garth Brooks and Paul McCartney have outsold the Bee Gees."[11] With nine number-one hits on the Billboard Hot 100, the Bee Gees are the third-most successful band in Billboard charts history behind only the Beatles and the Supremes.[12]

And Robin's falsetto was way better than Barry's, unfortunately by the 70's the nicer looking face usually took the lead at the studio heads' insistence.

Check out “Words”, “I’ve got to get a message to you”. Will show you them without the falsetto. Great reaction ❤️

The subject matter of 'Stayin' Alive' is about survival in the streets of New York inspired by the Nic Cohn paperback Tribal Rites of the Saturday Night, who was the plot for the classic Saturday Night Fever Movie. With 31 million singles sold since, Top 5 all time songs ever written and the hallmark and mist iconic song of the 70`s decade.
It is claimed from in a survey of all radiostations around the globe as most airplayed song of all time in 2017- every 20 seconds - this plays everywhere around the world 🍾. It’s a part of our shared cultural heritage now - one of those pop miracles that just never gets old, never wears off, never loses its charge. It remains alive. And indeed one of the most covered pop songs in history.🎖
Michael Jackson told that without the Saturday Night Fever Sountrack, he was not able to write with Quincy Jones the Thriller Album, Barry Gibb & Michael Jackson were the closest friends in Show Biz 💪

The Bee Gees are amazing, but I have to admit when I was a kid I had a crush on their little brother Andy Gibb. He looks and sings like his brother Barry. Check out Shadow Dancing!! 🕺

Hi! Anything from Midnight Special ... all groups were required to sing live on the show. No autotune. "Nights on Broadway" is a great start.
    Have a wonderful holiday.

Michael McDonald, the lead singer for this song from the Doobie Brothers, had an equally impressive list of timeless songs as a solo artist. He did a beautiful cover of the “much covered” song “Hallelujah” that I would recommend for an upcoming reaction.
    Fantastic vocals!

This song was the theme song to the movie with John Travolta called "Stayin Alive"! And, YES! They could really sing like that. This was back in (I believe!) 1977 or '78. Way before your time.

Barry is still alive and getting very old, there is a talk show interview after his last brother passing, he jokes about his high voice singing and has his guitar and shows how he sings like that... been doing music over 60 years 🎶

If you want to dig deeper, try "I started a joke" It shows Barry was not the only talented singer in the group. It is from the 1960s and was a huge hit at the time. The words resonate with so many people even today.

Most of the songs from this album were written prior to being used in the movie Stayin' Alive. (A ground breaking movie in its own right for the depiction of life in the Italian district in New York). This the true talent of the Brothers Gibb (The BeeGees) they knew music and embraced all sounds.

If you watch the bio of them in the 80s it will blow you mind. they were given the movie stayin alive and sent to france and put up in a home in the country with just basic sound studio and told to make some songs for the movie. IN TWO weeks they made like 8 songs that all were hits, at one point they had 3 top 10 songs and their little brother had 1 also in the top 10.

The superbly talented Brothers Gibb and only us 60 somethings could understand what we had back in the day no auto tune no stupid naked bodies shaking about to make up for your lack of talent this was when music was raw and fantastic, and it’s hard to imagine that Barry is now the only living survivor of his three younger brothers.
