The thing with suju is that they are well known in another areas since they do different things apart from singing. They are MC, directors, composers, musical actors and drama actors. They have been working together for 17 years and yeah they are super goofy.

They have been around for 17 years, and many of the members have hosted variety shows. The “portly” member is Shindong, and he has always been heavier than other members even though he is part of the main dance line. He appears a little bit heavier in Mango MV but from the beginning he never fit the k-pop idol image. He is popular on variety shows. He gets hardly any singing parts in the group but is a good singer. The main vocal line consist of three members, who sang the bridge, and the member whose voice you liked is one of them.

I just got really into suju this month right before the most recent comeback released. Although I have liked some of their stuff around early 2010s (first time I got into kpop), I just liked a couple of songs from practically every group at the time without really getting into any particular group. Eventually, I stopped paying attention to kpop until I decided to listen some songs I liked from the past and that's when youtube decided to recommend Devil, House Party, 2YAO2YAO, Burn the floor, One More Chance, Black Suit, Super Clap (you should check all of that out). And now all I got to say is (1) Donghae is beautiful lol (2) Everyone in the group is so funny and likeable and (3) I'm impressed they're still making great music as a group to this day and I am now a fan.

Thank you for all the recommendations. I'm really impressed that they've been active for this long as well. Groups staying together for nearly 20 years is not common in the music industry in general.
@@kpopauntie When I was just getting to know them last year, I literally get goosebumps after learning they were only meant to be a 3 month project group, and was viewed as a sure fail project by most "experts" because the group had too many members (13)....
These boys did not just survived that 3 month project but went on to take down all types of music awards and broke so many records during those years, and are still standing strong after 17 years!

They are wholesome, cool, funny and very versatile! They tried every genre and style, so if you check them, you'll gonna fine something you love. And They are very funny in variety show!

Funny, the first guy you said looks familiar was on the side of 'least famous' member of suju cause he rarely shown on variety show or other activities besides group activities. I said least amongs their members, of course he's famous given suju has been around for nearly 17 years

Hahaha They are indeed all over the place 😂 they have upbeat title tracks and really good b-sides which are like hidden gems. They have a surprising amount of ballads, and they are all amazing.
The fuller gentleman, Shindong, was actually street casted by his amazing dancing skills. He has always had a bigger build.
The group wasn't really expected to last more than a year. They were a project group and the plans were to graduate the members and substitute them for other people as they grew up to keep the group full of "Juniors". Hence the name. The group was also to have different units in which different members attack the industry in different ways. For example some members would be involved in acting, others in comedy, variety shows, radio and TV hosts.
So when the fans fell in love with them and begged the company to make them a fixed group, they kept that aspect of developing their skills in all kinds of entertainment medias. They are actors, comedians, radio and TV hosts, not just singers. They ended shaping the way groups promoted themselves to what we see today.
17 years and 11 full studio albums, not counting the sub-unit albums and the albums of member that have had solos. 😂 You will definitely find something you will like. The more you react the more the fandom will recommend depending on your interest. thanks for your reaction 💙

They debuted in 2005 with 13 members (the first korean kpop group with many members, the first Korean group with foreign/Chinese Member, and many first times in kpop history), they are famous as the KING OF HALLYU WAVE, currently with 9 active and 1inactive from group activities. They have been together for more than 20+ years, check out their "SORRY SORRY ANSWER" or "BURN THE FLOOR", and from there you may know how good they are. In fact, Super Junior Main Vocals are considered three of the best singers and vocalists in Korea. They are the first sub-unit in Kpop history, called KRY (KyuHyun, Ryeowook, and Yesung). I recommend their song like Superman (live SS4) which is SuJu and ELF (fandom) anthem, Sorry Sorry (their most famous song-it is different from sorry sorry answer), Mr. Simple, Islands, Walking', Midnight Blues, Superclap, Black Suit, 2Ya2YaO, Devil, Ticky Tocky, to and if you want to listen to song with latin vibes, then please check out Mamacita, Lo Siento, One More Time. They are indeed all-rounded talented artists.

Jazzy, RnB, ballad, funky, musical like, pop, rock, latin vibe, etc. If you like to hear harmony voice, you will love them cz they have best harmonization 😊. Actually their 'live performance' is better, most of fans prefer the live show than mv. I want to recommend 'burn the floor' for glorious genre (it's a queen, a masterpiece 😊), 'black suit' (it's jazzy vibe?) and 'dont wait' (grease vibe?) for watching their goofiness 😁.

Yayyy my fave group, they broke tonnes of records back in their heyday and paved the way breaking asia and south America.
KRY is a sub unit of theirs with the 3 main vocalists, they have some incredible live performances. They do as a complete band too, they are performers and entertainers through and through so you will probably have seen some of them as hosts on variety shows/in k dramas or movies. Every music video seems to turn to comedy like the ending of this one 🤣. This song gets stuck in my head so much 😁
Edit: yes Shindong has always been plus sized, and there is another member whose weight fluctuates. They have the token few who are in incredible shape and take their tops off at gigs, but the rest are under no pressure. They have been around so long and have been so successful that they have really had a lot of freedom and not had to conform. Plus the fact that they're a group of wild boys who can't be tamed 😆.
Massive discography and oldest stuff is quite cheesy but also some rockier stuff which is awesome!

and little info: suju isn't a group formed to be an idol, they're a project group, where the members are a dancer, singer, actor, and MC. after few months of debut they should have separated & live their own careers but fate said otherwise 😂

You mentioned about them not charting and it’s because they’re known to be variety show geniuses and drama actors, always ranked highest as the busiest idol group based on schedules but because of that, the general public don’t take them seriously as singers. They’ve always been out of the norm as idols. Starting with having too many members when the most during their time was 6 members. They also have a heavyset member as you mentioned but is an amazing dancer before he moved to other aspects of the entertainment industry. They’ve always been active on TV. That being said, most of their fans are from overseas. With this album, they topped iTunes Charts in 23 countries and top 10 in over 40 regions. The album debuted #1 on the worldwide iTunes chart and #2 on the European iTunes chart. They just don’t chart in Korea. Well, they do but not high. lol
It's weird how some groups are more popular outside of their native country. I guess they just make a sound that resonates more in the international market? Either way, I'm enjoying learning about SuJu.
@@kpopauntie Right? I mean, they are very popular in other fields in Korea. Almost 800 show appearances between during the first half of 2022 alone. But I’m guessing it’s also because they were marketed for the international market being the first group to have a foreign member. Making them one of the major contributors of hallyu which the Koreans know them for. And they really just aren’t your typical idol group. But now, they’re know in other fields and as group, they are able to compose, choreograph, direct and film MVs and VCRs, direct concerts and even finance themselves. They’re pretty independent.

Of course, the vocals are insane, Super Junior is an OG group from SM Entertainment, so you shouldn't expect any less. Plus, Super Junior has the 3 best vocalists -- Kyuhyun, Ryeowook and Yesung -- who make up the sub-unit Super Junior-K.R.Y. Super Junior-K.R.Y. is the industry's very first sub-unit and they are a ballad unit who have an unbelievable vocal range. Kyuhyun, Ryeowook and Yesung are the vocal standard in the industry, who set the bar that all other vocalists are measured against. But as an SM group, all the members of Super Junior are amazing singers -- even their rappers have been known to fill in as a main vocalist on occasion.
Super Junior knows exactly what they are doing. They haven't been in the industry for this long without being experts at reinventing themselves and coming up with something new and innovative with every comeback. Super Junior debuted Nov. 6, 2005, and "Mango" is their lead track on their 11th full length album Vol.1 The Road: Keep Going.
After almost 17 years, Super Junior has done pretty much every genre of music. SuJu are never afraid to experiment with their sound or style and they are known for coming up with original concepts and setting trends. And because the group is so diverse, with so many unique members (at their peak they had 15 members, currently they are a 10 member group with 9 active members), this allows them to be able to do almost anything. They are the founders of the Hallyu Wave (making Korean culture popular internationally) for a reason.
There is almost nothing in the Kpop industry that SuJu hasn't had a hand in creating.
Shindong is the big guy and he has always been plus-sized. He is the only plus-size Idol in the industry, but don't let that fool you. He is one of Super Junior's lead dancers, he is considered one of the best dancers in Kpop. He is also a lead rapper and a sub-vocalist. He was actually cast by SM when he was a teenager while he was performing in a local dance competition and he was one of the few SM trainees to be given ace trainee status. He is known as one of the comedians of the group who has also trained to be a host/MC for variety shows -- he has amazing comedic timing. He also co-owns his own video production company and he has filmed and direct a lot of MVs and performance videos, including several of SJ's MVs and concerts.
SuJu's discography also includes several repackaged albums, as well as a multitude of mini albums. Plus, they have 5 sub-units -- Super Junior-K.R.Y. (made up of Kyuhyun, Ryeowook and Yesung -- SJ's main vocalists), Super Junior-D & E (made up of Donghae and Eunhyuk), Super Junior-T (Trot -- which is like a cross between the equivalent of western old-style country music and cabaret music. It's older-style Korean pop music that's all about being kind of cheesy, fun and over the top.), Super Junior-M (Mandarin Chinese) and Super Junior-H (Happy). And they have 12 members in total, and most of them also have solo tracks and albums. So yes, they have plenty of songs to check out, as well as numerous live performances and concert footage. Super Junior was the first group to ever hold 100 concerts back in 2014, and there have been dozens more since then. So, I don't think you will run out of Super Junior things to watch for a very long time. LOL (The just began their 9th world tour -- Super Show 9 -- a couple of weeks ago.)
Super Junior has their own record label -- Label SJ -- which is under SM Entertainment, but also more independent, so they are able to collaborate with other Kpop artists outside of SM Entertainment and even non-Kpop artists such as Latin artists like REIK and Leslie Grace.
Super Junior members range in age from 39-32.That's why they have a more mature and classy look and feel to their most recent MVs and songs and that's why you often see them dressed in suites. They are all men, not boys. LOL But as you will soon discover, they are one of the most unique groups when it comes to the dynamics of the members personalities -- they truly are fun, crazy, over the top and aren't afraid to just let their freak flag fly when they interact with each other. SJ are legends in the industry and they have paved the way for almost everything you see in the Kpop industry today. They set the standard for how Kpop is promoted around the world. They are also the first group to have serious roles in all the other entertainment industries -- setting the standard on how a Kpop star branches out into all parts of the industry. They are not only singers and dancers but members are musicians, composers, songwriters, lyricists, music and video producers, TV and movie actors, stage actors, models, radio DJs/ hosts, variety show hosts/MCs, authors, etc. Pretty much anything we think of as a standard part of the Kpop industry was created because of them. They were the first Kpop group to have non-Korean members, the first group to have dedicated sub-units and the first Kpop group to have a sub-unit that focused on producing songs in Mandarin for the Chinese audience. (Super Junior-M's popularity in China is the whole reason why EXO-M even existed.)

Boy you’re in for a treat! They are quite diverse musically. They’ve done a bit of everything but with their own flare. They are hilarious and chaotic. The talent in Super Junior is insane. They have been the group with many “first in KPop”. And yes, Shindong is the portly guy and he’s amazing. He is part of the main dance line. He’s got a wonderful lower husky voice. The main vocal line is Kyuhyun, Ryeowook, and Yesung. They are the first sub-unit in KPop and really, some of the best vocalists as well. Diferent of many new groups Super Junior has a theatrical vibe. They are great vocals with much experience and are always trying new genres( see their parodies they are great in acting also) Every member gives to the group a nuance of colour that when together becomes an explosion of talent. Shindong the plump guy is a one of the best dancers in the field and his abilities in directing are wonderful. Suju ( Super Junior ) is an atipical group, beyond the concept of a kpop group, they are respected by older and youngers groups. I wish I had time to leave a long comment (I need to catch up on your other reactions too, been hoarding videos as my reward for getting through this month, lmao), but Suju are fantastic, so I hope you do check out more. Their title tracks tend to be fun/upbeat, but their vocals are seriously no joke, especially once you get into their ballads. Kyuhyun, the one whose voice you picked out as main vocalist--which he is, alongside Yesung 5:25 and Ryeowook 5:33--won King of Masked Singer five years in a row.

Shindong has always been big. Kangin (an ex member) got bigger and bigger, probably because he had a drink problem. He was taken out of the group after his second DUI charge. Heechul, the guy with the long hair, only sings now due to a serious car crash injury (initially he had to have seven rods put in his left leg). There was another car crash involving four Super Junior members. Leetuk came off worst. His injuries required 160 stitches!!
Wow. Sounds like these guys need to stay out of cars.

The three guys with in the room alone at 5:47 are the main vocalists of the group. Two-toned hair Yesung, pink suit Ryeowook and the one you liked Kyuhyun. They are the first ever Kpop subunit in history and the best vocalists too. Super Junior-KRY is the name of their subunit they are all soloist too.
