- Draping in CLO3D mimics the process of taping out and pinning fabric on a dress form in real life. It is a useful technique for creating fitted garments such as bodices, dancewear, and corsets.
This is Lesson 2 in a series designed to teach the digital pattern drafting software CLO3D to students and professionals who already have a background in theatrical pattern drafting.

while doing darts with 3d pen you just drawn a streight like but in actual 2d pattern , i can see actual dart is created, i tried same way but in my 2d only a cut like is created , need your help, thanks in advance
It may be that your dart is very small and the shaping is being created somewhere else in the pattern. The line needs to point to the fullest part of the body, either the apex of the bust in the front, or the shoulder blade in the back, to be the most effective in shaping the garment.
Am I doing something wrong ? my pattern pieces look blotchy
Be sure to use the Edit 3D Pen (Avatar) tool to right click > Flattening as Straight Line the center front, center back, and any other line you expect to come out straight after flattening!
@@digitaldressmaker ok, thank you ☺️
@@digitaldressmaker have u ever had a problem with the darts being twisted
@@Miihooch if the darts are twisting, go ahead and straighten those too. I straighten most of my lines because it's easier to fit and I add in curves at the end only to refine the fit.
