    I read the book several years ago and found it to be very solid theologically. Any Christian teaching or belief must absolutely be rooted in the sufficiency of scripture. Anything less is not Christian. I’ve used it as the primary source in teaching the subject at our church. Thank God for your labors🙏🏾🙌🏾

    every believer has the ability to engage in spiritual warfare. we have the Holy Spirit in us and He guides us through scripture, in how to live and how we do not have to be afraid of the battles that go on around us in every moment. we do not have any authority over the darkness, but the Holy Spirit in us does, and He is the one that does the work. not us. We are told to continue the work of spreading the Gospel until He returns for us. every moment that God claims, the devil counter claims. He is a liar and he is literally out to kill, steal and destroy. By the power of the Holy Spirit in us, we are to keep fighting the good fight and bring in the wounded along the way til we see Him in the clouds. I have first hand watched and helped free others from demonic things that held them bound to things like addiction, and watched the Holy Spirit work and these people were set free. Jesus is amazing. He left us with the ability to shine His light through scripture and His work in our own lives, to help others be set free and continue on in the ministry that every believer is called into, and that is sharing the Gospel with the world around us. Praise God!

      AMEN to these Word. Yes, I believe God does reveal his secrets to those who "walk with HIM" daily.
      People do have divine encounters, dreams, visions and personal conversations with God in prayer, and through mediation, where GOD reveals His manifest presence, glory and ideas to those who seek HIM in the Spirit, because He is spirit. Theology is Religion. Christianity is also religion, but JESUS KING, and he showed us His Kingdom! And How to access God's Kingdom.

    Thank you for this video, it's what I needed. I too grew up within the charismatic church culture with many teachings I picked up along the way that are what I now call Christian fantasy. I haven't attended a Sunday gathering for 8 years now, I miss the fellowship, but I don't miss the crazy stuff. I'm deconstructing, looking at evidenced based reasonable faith and reconstructing on the Gospel. Is Yeshua more than enough? I'm discovering that He is.

      Try a few different churches if you miss the fellowship, of all denominations, and see where you are happy with the word and companionship, and remember that a whole person enjoys friendship but isn't made whole by other people - which can keep you safe from hurt

    As soon as you mentioned “personal revelations” I immediately thought about the book Jesus Calling, which is one of the most absurd books on the market. It’s so blatantly New Age and probably channeled, even though the author “might” not know that. It’s just wild. 😳

    Just started my subscription with AGtv and so thankful for edifying content. Viewed the whole 8 episodes and I did not realize how I was influenced falsely. I must admit that casting out anything verbally that was spiritual did not sit right with me. I don't know if Jim views these comments but I do have a question for him. What happens when a born again believer has a demon? What does deliverance look like biblically speaking?

  • @refiningtheremnant
    @refiningtheremnant 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Every single person that I know is wrapped up in deliverance ministry. I believe people can have demons, etc. I do believe in it to a point but why does deliverance have to be a whole ministry? Shouldn't it just be a small part shouldn't the Gospel and preaching the Word be most important?

    Dope series tho makes me sad to think of all the confusion even in being a christain Paul preached its simplicity i guess times were different when everyone didn't have anything better to do than to pick up our Bible its just sad to think how none believers view this I know it turns them off to see even ppl who are both christains go head to head saying the others doctrines false( im sure they think well its all false then) but the truth must be shown regardless such a double edge sword at times but if its scriptural and the truth then it must be said no matter how many people it offends so...

      did the video make that claim? if so, i missed it. it is true, that many preachers assume that verse incorrectly speaks to the NT writings. i personally would never use it as a proof text but simply as encouragement that all scripture is beneficial.

    If these people were actually binding satan and his demons, I think they need to also bind whoever keeps releasing them. If they were truly bound by our word, because we are a god, then nobody could reverse it. If someone else could overcome your words then it’s obvious you lack even the faith an atheist has.

    I believe the Bible is the perfect word of God. I believe everything must be checked for biblical standing. But not everything is in there. Do you cast off all medicine because it came from man. What about cooking or nutrition. How about dating and marriage. Marriage exists and there is some guidance but it could bw interpretted in many ways, and has been. What about work, how do I choose what work to do? What about building, inventing, engineering, computers. Do we cast all that off and only build according to what God has laid out in the Bible? And dont even get me started in how we in our society by in large do not live biblically even to what it does outline.
    Anything that goes against the teaching of the Bible must be rejected. Even if it is a principal but not specifically outlined. For instance, even though the bible does not explicitely speak against spousal abuse, we understand it is clearly taught when taking in the myriad scriptures such as Ephesians 5, Collassians 3, 1 Corinthians 13, and the kost obvious the two greatest commandments that Jesus gave us.
    And I would also say anything of a spiritual nature should even more be submitted to the authority of the Bible. Lest we go off the rails which has clearly happened all too often.
    Yet, is there no place for any knowledge of man that is not explicitely stated in scripture? Scripture does not tell you to make videos about false teachings, as far as I know it doesnt say to study the false teachings and come up with solid refutations for them. In fact, I bet we could find thousands of things you do that are extra biblical. But that does not mean they dont line up with what the Bible teaches. I am glad you and your team are calling out false teachers and prophets, but I just cant get on board with that. Someone could easily take what you taught and say them we should refuse medical treatment because antibiotics are not in the Bible even though that means the person dies. You should be very careful stating such sweeping things. You are a teacher, you are held to a higher standard by God.

      thank you. this man is a false teacher. a cessationist that needs to read the bible he constantly espouses. He is dismissive of true believers who have had real encounters with the Holy Spirit and have experienced spiritual manifestations as "psychosomatic" - applying secular belief systems to describe the work of the Holy Spirit. I had to sit through an entire 1 hr interview with this false teacher where he positioned himself in front of shelves of so many books so he could appear like a spiritual brainy smurf when all I saw was pride. In the first few minutes of that interview he's criticising many of the charismatic community trying to downplay who the enemy ignoring what Paul has clearly said in Ephesians 6:12 that there is indeed a supernatural realm and focusing our biggest problem is blaming the enemy and not our own flesh. I'm not sure if he understands the connection of the flesh and carnality in this earthly/physical realm and who rules that world. I watched a part where he tries to dismantle the argument about soul ties.
      The bible never mentions "soul ties" but does include examples of "two becoming one flesh" (Genesis 2:24,Matthew 19:5,Mark 10:8,Ephesians 5:31) and also of souls being "knit together" as an example with Saul's son Jonathan to David;
      "And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul, that *the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David* and Jonathan loved him as his own soul" (1 Samuel 18:1)
      Also regarding the "two become one flesh" in Corinthians 6:16 when the joining of a man and woman outside of the covenant of marriage ie fornication - this becomes an ungodly tie “What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.”
      He is all about sola scriptura - yes thats right we do need to stick to the bible but Jesus Christ sends us the "Helper" or the "Advocate" also known as the "Comforter" which is the Holy Spirit - the bible is a supernatural book, true revelation comes through the Holy Spirit without the Holy Spirit the bible cannot be revealed in its fullness.
      Cessationists can never explain the innumerable amount of miracles that have occurred throughout the world by the power of the Holy Spirit. They skim over acts one of the pivotal books in the bible.

    17:36 I get what he's saying but the one dude actually did die and give his account for what he saw, so your against this?please elaborate i think that helps non believers (who are definitely carnal minded) realize heaven is real , some people won't receive you quoting scriptures of heaven at them then be like oh wow it is real instead a person who literally died saying this is what I experienced, no?...Im definitely looking forward to the next episodes

    • @Is.That.True00
      @Is.That.True00 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      That's his point. Scripture is still sufficient, whether non-believers like skeptics accept it as evidence or not. Better to believe Jesus than another human vouching for heaven based on his own subjective experience.
      Jesus IS the source of Truth. If a person can't believe His proof of heaven in the first place, then forget it, right?
      Also, "bible verses" are actual words spoken by the Lord, Jesus. Not mere reference words to evangelise. Jesus said that the words He spoke are Spirit and Life. Scripture is sufficient.

    Lots of name bashing. Lots of criticising. Lots of saying ‘we’ll talk about this’ and not actually getting there. This is a poor intro.
    I don’t mind if you want to present a counter theology and set up an intro to say ‘we are going look at alternative biblical derived practices and contrast them with the teachings and practices of others’. But this was not a respectfully made intro the course
