- On my Kerala trip of Jan 2020, I decided to go from Kochi to Munnar (actually to the town called Anachal, near Munnar) by bus. I thought I would make a guide vlog to inform people on how to travel from Kochi to Munnar by bus, but my experience turned it into an anti-guide! Instead of showing you how to, I inadvertently end up showing you how not to travel from Kochi to Munnar by bus!

Glad to see your video, i had traveled to Munnar from Cochin Airport through bus. It was really a great experience and even today i wanted to visit there again and again. So from Cochin airport I went to Ernakulam but i missed Munnar bus so then I went to Aluva through some local people assistance and from there i got a bus to Munnar directly. It took me almost 4+ hours to reach Munnar from Aluva. So from cochin it took me total of 7hours. I checked in to Newgatein hotel In Ikka Nagar. From there I had booked a cab, and the driver took total of 2500 for 2 days. He took me to several points as listed below
Eravikulam National Park,
Anamudi,
Mattupettey Dam,
Kunthala Dam,
Echo Point,
Botanical GArden and Rose garden. I had a great experience which I could never forget. By seeing your video I really would like to visit again and again. You made it awesome just like normal one, which I felt like I am walking instead of you. Thank you so much. God bless you.

Cheapest way is to catch the airport bus and get down at Aluva. Then catch a Munnar bus from there (Since all buses form Kochi city pass through aluva to reach munnar). The govt KSRTC buses are preferable. And No, there are no private buses from the airport to munnar.

@@DCTravelerExperience it's in aluva.... you can just type it in goggle and you will find the place.... the homestay is far from busy town .... it's a homestay so food is good and the owners are simply superb.... its budget friendly too

Is there any AC bus between ernakulam and munnar?
Yes there are, but you will have to ask around, I can't point to an exact location.
no need ..its cool journey...throgh woods...use local bus...

From airport you get munnar bus or direct ernakulam ksrtc bus stand,ernakulam there is ac buses.At12pm from aluva there is bus non ac inr 126 to munnar.if you not found you can take one auto (easy way) from airport go to angamali ksrtc stand 20rupees from thier you get bus direct bus to ernakulam ksrtc stand.or there is now kochi metro shuttle bus from airport to aluva 50rupees and (stops in aluva metro)get a metro train to ernakulam south or at aluva metro backside private bus stand there you find pleny of buses to ernakulam every minute and stepout to ernakulam and jus walking distance to ksrtc bus
