- We visit the beautiful "Blue City" of Chefchaouen Morocco! Shortly after Morocco allowed people to move throughout the country following the lockdown, in July of 2020, we had the opportunity to visit this incredible city. Known as the "Blue City" because of the blue painted houses and building, Chefchaouen is located in the Northern Mountains of Morocco.
We left our AirBnB in Tetouan for this day trip to Chefchaouen, and we weren't disappointed! However, the city was fairly empty and we were one of the few tourists there on this day, because of the ongoing border closure. Also, because of this, many businesses, including restaurants and shops, were closed.
However, we really enjoyed our time in "The Blue City" of Chefchaouen Morocco, even though it was shortly after lockdown. We can't wait to go back!

My very first trip to Morocco I arranged an overnight stay in Chefchaouen. I had seen photos and I had to go there. I do highly recommend it, although for me, I couldn’t manage the city. I was in trouble from the time I arrived. I have mobility issues due to my feet and ankles and I learned quickly that the everything seemed uphill both ways! LOL!! Chefchaouen is beautiful and most people can hand with no problem. I did have a stay in a nice riad. The woman who managed it is a wonderful woman and she alone made my trip worthwhile. It’s nice you were able to explore without the normal crowds.
Another time all my thanks to u for sharing our culture . That's the blue and calm city where i 've studied .
All those outdoor tourists area ,it get busy after 7pm to avoid the heat and it’s so beautiful more intertwine entertainments and cool things to do and also more shops and restaurants opens kind of late,
