Hey Chris and Sam and thanks for checking out Voice of Baceprot! Imagine your parents physically preventing you from going to practice with your band. Imagine people throwing rocks at you, or your parent's store being robbed, or people attempting to run you over with motorbikes, or getting death threats and frequent insults/bullying, or having the power shut off while you're playing a show, all because of trying to play rock/metal music while Muslimah. And add to that the fact of being relatively shy, physically tiny, young girls in a small conservative rural village, with few options for the future other than marriage or perhaps a shopkeeper, etc. Courage was their solution to despair. They pushed through, showing amazing strength and conviction and have now reached the world stage! They are pure inspiration, keep going! Lyrics here: Why today, many perceptions have become toxic?

One of their early hits they are from Indonesia which frowns on women performing asking God to please let them sing and play metal, they are speaking out for young women in their county as well many other countries like Iran where women are oppress for the same reasons.

"God, Allow Me (Please) to Play Music". This single came after the personnel consisting of three veiled women experienced a bit of intolerance in the environment.
Criticism and stigma came and went from all directions and almost made them want to give up on the music scene in 2016.
"The more we try to avoid criticism, distanced himself, it became even more vicious, it provoked us to fight even more outspokenly," VoB vocalist and guitarist Firdda "Marsya" Kurnia said in an official statement.
"We want people listening to this song to be more tolerant of other people. God does not belong to just one person or a group of people," said Marsya.
"So, everyone has the right to creation, and the responsibility for their creation is given by God," Marsya continued.

You could try South Korea next. Check out Rolling Quartz: an all female rock band from South Korea. I've seen them described as Korea's answer to Band Maid. But they have their own unique style and look. My favorite of theirs is "Azalea". They also do a great cover of Maneskin's "Zitti E Buoni".

I don't know why people tend to react to this song for their first reaction. It's good, but not the best of their work in my opinion. PMS, Kentut Merdeka, Not public property, even their old song School Revolution is better I think (but everyone has their own preference).
