Webinar on "Lebanon offshore Public Financial Model" organized by Kulluna Irada and LOGI

In March 2018, the Lebanese government, issued the first signed Exploration and Production Agreements (EPA) for offshore petroleum activities.
In a step to capitalize on this important transparency step, Kulluna Irada and The Lebanese Oil and Gas Initiative (LOGI) are partnering with OpenOil, a Berlin based company that works on developing financial models based on signed oil contracts to help citizens better understand the fiscal terms committed to by both the Government and the company. OpenOil has developed a Lebanon specific financial model based on the country’s published exploration and production agreements.
On Thursday June 4, 2020, Kulluna Irada in collaboration with LOGI organized a webinar on "Lebanon Offshore Public Financial Model" with Open-Oil co-founder and director, Johnny West.
During the webinar, West presented the financial model they have prepared along with its key findings and recommendations.
This was an opportunity to understand the established financial model as well as develop useful tools that will allow us to evaluate whether our Government did indeed sign to a fair deal. It will also allow us to propose fiscal reforms based on scientific evidence.
