I'm gonna miss this kind og blogs when they're gone. It's been the higlight of my youtube time this week so far xD And fuck those post office guys/gals.
I mean, I understand that, but daily uploads are super exhausting for the creator. Rather have Scott have a healthy work routine rather than a destructive one.
4:49 For added CITRUS goodness when parboiling potatoes for a roast, put a lemon and /or orange into the boiling water along with the potatoes. When the potatoes are ready to roughen up and baste (10-12mins later) set the citrus fruit aside to cool slightly and when it's time to put the chicken in the oven, gently pierce the boiled citrus fruit a few times and place inside the cavity of the bird. The lemon and/or orange will contribute to the cooking process (and flavor) by steaming the interior while the oven handles crisping up the exterior.
Fusion is great, definitely the way forward for CAD packages, coming from a solidworks background having such a similar experience makes it good to use plus the hot keys to go straight to certain features
Im loving the format of this. Sometimes sitting down and doing methodical work can be tiring. But just seeing you live your life and how you just go about things is nice. Keep it up. I hope this is fruitful for you and your passions.
Yes! Really like the new style of video, it soothes my somewhat ADHD nature - he's talking about painting minis, now he's giving cooking tips, now he's talking about his dogs (always a big bonus) and now back to the minis with some very cool demonstration of freehanding!!! Awesome!
I love this series ! We want more Scott! I know it’s a lot of stuffing around with gear an recording an editing but it’s so well done an it’s a little slice of your life ! It’s fantastic thanks for sharing
I know videos every day is unreasonable but I can't help to love this constant joy when a I see a Miniac video every day. Also I really love this style of video, feels real and personable!
Itd be cool to have Ambers perspective for a day and see things from her view, see what its like to have you and john yelling "tendies" in the basement.
This video series has been really great. I’m glad to be able to catch them as they come out. I’m sure keeping up with this many vlogs won’t be sustainable but I’m hoping you throw together more like it occasionally down the line. Good stuff either way.
I've only had a dog for one month, but I've learned the names develop fast: Name: Birdie Additional names: Birdo, Berbo, BRBO, Birdle, Burger, Bergdahl, Lady, Little Lady
Loving the vlogs honestly, great seeing you having fun doing something different My dog Fergus also goes by Fergo, Fango, Fangus, Fungus, or most commonly a simple "Good boy" My old dog, who died 3 years ago, went by Ginger, Ginger Pinger, Doodoo, Ninja, Poopoo, and im sure there were more i've forgotten
Very interesting format. Great to see backordered Dutchess shipping in Monday's video. I hope mine arrives. Love your channel and podcast- great production quality. Keep up the good work.
With something like that base, you def want to print it straight on the plate. Because it's such a large flat surface all the supports would make it bumpy and rough, and you would still get some warping on the bottom.
DUDE - thank you for the "They eat their wounded" quote. I had been looking for this movie for ever - Lost in Space from 1998 - and that it jolted my stupid brain into remembering.
That is the correct way to print those pieces. If your part has a flat surface, and would requrie no supports in that orientation, it's the most secure and consistent for a resin printer. If you were to print this on supports, you are more likely to break supports leading to a failed print, and certainly a flat surface on top of supports will warp. The "foot" you refer to will happen, and cutting that away is easy, but if you're super advanced, you can use the "fillet" tool in fusion to make the bottom corner of your part slightly recessed so that the elephants foot is smaller than your edge. (pro strats)
Whenever I need something stiff to poke at things without scratching them, I use a cuticle stick (aka orange wood stick). They're about the girth of a corn dog stick, and have a wedgie end and a pointy end. My cats are Ráme (fluffy orange tabby) and Louma (fluffy & black). I call them "Gingerbuddy" and "Shadowfluff".
Scott, it is easy to see that you are having fun doing these video, these are probably some of the most entertaining you made in a long time. As requested Nanook (A Cat and it means Polar Bear in Inuktituq) Nooky Nookel Le gros (he is a Main Coon mix, and he is big) Killer
LOL. I walked away from the video to check my 3D printer because I kept hearing a weird noise, it was just the wind blowing through a small opening in my backroom window. Come back and Scott is cooking a chicken. Thought I had missed his other video so I hit the back button and it goes back to Ninjon painting a rare mini he got from Goobertown. I get all confused and hit the forward button just to return to this video and then see the transition from the subject of 3D printing to cooking. You caught me looking Scott...or not looking. None the less, great video.
My oldest cat's name is Porthos and his nicknames are: - Port - Port port - Pothole - Pothead - Poto - Walking Hazard - For f**k sakes - Fata$$ - Lap blanket - Dumb - Dumber - Our first child - Cat - Other Cat - Mr. Lazy and finally - Sir. Porthingworths Cuttlebuggy the First
I’ve used both Blender and Fusion. Both are fantastic tools that are good at different things. Blender is more “artsy” whereas Fusion is better for literally anything that involves measuring not dimensions.
Cheers dog parents ! My 2 year old labrador-retriever is named "Maximos" (Greek version of Latin "Maximus") aka Skelos (greek for dog) aka Koutave (greek for puppy) aka Koutavouraios (Greek for a combination between puppy-koutavi and rat-arouraios because with my son we had a huge realisation about his paws being identical to skaven paws and skaven are rats so puppy and rat...) and tons more
Banners like this look GREAT, but I always wonder about banners like this in any sort of reality... Could you weave such a thing? Patchwork it like a quilt? Just paint it on the cloth?
Great episode of the life of a Miniaf. Also as requested here are the pet names! 2 Cats: - Cat 1: "Buddy "aka Buddy Boi, Budro, Budro Wilson, and/or Buster. Cat 2: "Missy" - aka The boobins, Kitty-Crumb-snatcher, and plain ol cat.
Very nice video, and big fan of the freehand. Could you please share the colours used on the red background? that deep dark red tone is amazing and would like to try it out!
Excellent video, and impressive freehand. Our dogs are Dain Eyjafjallajokull, aka "small dog." and Linus Maximilian I, also known as "hey, NO!" And we mustn't forget Sam, the Jabba the Hutt of bearded dragons.
Fusion 360 FTW. Also, the technique where you cut out the spine and flatten the chicken is called "spatchcocking". Fun to say repeatedly while you cook....
Aww, look at our boy making his own movie references! Also, as a past dog owner I can confirm each of mine had at least 3 names, some completely distinct and used by different members of the household :D
That banner was so inspirational and I can't believe I've never used plastic wrap when airbrushing! What was in your peas, and why no carb with your chicken!
"They eat their wounded" generated audible laughter from me. Which was bad because it's 2am and my family are prone to murder if woken. Thanks Scott >:( Seriously, loving this series.
Maggie Moo, Maggers, Maggie Mumu, Mags, Silly Girl, Goofy Girl, and of course her sidekick, Henry Fu, Foo Dog, Dingy Dog, Macho Duck, Dingbat. Oh, nice work on the Tesla symbol freehand.
Really enjoying the vlogs and interesting to see what a mini painter youtuber does on a daily bases 😄 Our dogs name is Data but he gets called McBoot, Poppet and Pestilence. That’s only a few we use 🤣
We have four cats and they all have a few different names. Kurosawa is also Little Lion, Moie is also Princess, Bruce Wayne is also Batman, Lune is also Gangster.
Did you have a drain hole in your prints? You can end up with a decent bit of uncured liquid resin inside if not. Not the end of the world, but can lead to some failures and wastes a little bit of resin too. I'm really enjoying this style of video though!
Amber's face at the end is like mine when I have to wait for someone to finish saying grace.
"If you do one more take, I'm just eating, and you'll just have to roast another chicken for the shot"
i am so done with his shit she says to herself. remmembering all the customers in the post office woh arent raging minniacs.
LOL I feel just like her at the end of all of these videos. I usually close them before. The rest of the video is cool!
Poor Amber!
Ain’t no party like a one man printer party. Sick moves.
Right
Said from the mad magic craft monster himself
I'm gonna miss this kind og blogs when they're gone. It's been the higlight of my youtube time this week so far xD
And fuck those post office guys/gals.
I really wish this series was going to last longer than a week
Yeah agreed I really like this series a lot would be super cool to see it like once a month at the start of it
I mean, I understand that, but daily uploads are super exhausting for the creator. Rather have Scott have a healthy work routine rather than a destructive one.
This vlog series is getting nicer every day
Really liked the music choices and Amber's expression (or absence of) during the ending growl
I wonder if she would ever do the ending?🙄😁
Yeah, Amber's gold
Banner looks awesome! that's a great highlight for the week right there, but who knows what tomorrow will bring!?
This aged well
"Kochzeit mit Herr Walter"

Your "eat their wounded" Lost in Space reference was not lost on me and I appreciated that greatly. XD
I've been really enjoying these videos, its nice to have up on one of my screens as I'm answering morning emails and downing coffee
I'm really digging these blogs. the little peek behind the curtain is always nice. Hope they become a semi-regular thing
These videos are really making my week. I love the randomness such as the 3d printer dance.
Fusion is great, definitely the way forward for CAD packages, coming from a solidworks background having such a similar experience makes it good to use plus the hot keys to go straight to certain features
Didn’t expect to hear about Kenji in this vid but he is the man!!
Im loving the format of this. Sometimes sitting down and doing methodical work can be tiring. But just seeing you live your life and how you just go about things is nice. Keep it up. I hope this is fruitful for you and your passions.
I concur - this vlog series is excellent. Good mix of everything! way to go Scott, Amber and the doggies!!!!!
Yes! Really like the new style of video, it soothes my somewhat ADHD nature - he's talking about painting minis, now he's giving cooking tips, now he's talking about his dogs (always a big bonus) and now back to the minis with some very cool demonstration of freehanding!!! Awesome!

I know videos every day is unreasonable but I can't help to love this constant joy when a I see a Miniac video every day. Also I really love this style of video, feels real and personable!
Love the editing. I've watched many of your videos but for some reason, this series is what made me a subscriber.
Itd be cool to have Ambers perspective for a day and see things from her view, see what its like to have you and john yelling "tendies" in the basement.
“They eat their wounded...” Caught me totally off guard, hardest I’ve laughed all day, thanks Scott!
I am honestly loooving and living for every new episode. Would love to see more vlog style vids in the future!
This video series has been really great. I’m glad to be able to catch them as they come out.
I’m sure keeping up with this many vlogs won’t be sustainable but I’m hoping you throw together more like it occasionally down the line. Good stuff either way.
I just have to say that I love your vids. Your combination of miniature painting and just fricking hilarious content is just absolutely amazing.
I've only had a dog for one month, but I've learned the names develop fast:
Name: Birdie
Additional names: Birdo, Berbo, BRBO, Birdle, Burger, Bergdahl, Lady, Little Lady
Such wholesome content ! Love watching it! Getting the itch to start painting minis again!
Loving the vlogs honestly, great seeing you having fun doing something different
My dog Fergus also goes by Fergo, Fango, Fangus, Fungus, or most commonly a simple "Good boy"
My old dog, who died 3 years ago, went by Ginger, Ginger Pinger, Doodoo, Ninja, Poopoo, and im sure there were more i've forgotten
My dog knows he is going to get a treat when I call him Griffy Griff.
This has been a fantastic view into your work style...keep having fun
Very interesting format. Great to see backordered Dutchess shipping in Monday's video. I hope mine arrives. Love your channel and podcast- great production quality. Keep up the good work.
Been enjoying this little mini series Scott I hope you and your wife have a great 2021.
I will miss this window into your life, it is a nice break from the every day life. This really inspires me in these dark times.
Thanks Scott - it is nice to meet with you daily on this channel. Cheers.
You make freehand seem way less scary! Great tip with the yellow backlight. Definitely enjoying this half blog style of videos
Really digging the new format, and the dog breaks are great!! Awesome work on the banner.
With something like that base, you def want to print it straight on the plate. Because it's such a large flat surface all the supports would make it bumpy and rough, and you would still get some warping on the bottom.
A Tupper full of chicken spins? You never know what gems of knowledge come from one of your videos. Love the video series!
Love this new style of videos!!! Gotta see that ultra glamorous life of a TH-camr!
man, miniac vids everyday has been so awesome. feeling spoiled, hope you decide to do some extra content every now and then like this more often!
Digging this new vlog format, good stuff man!
good call on moving off of blender, use it for modeling and sculpting. CAD stuff for your plinths.
Hey water washable resin was a game changer for me for 3d printing. Totally hated clean up which became a breeze after the water washable stuff!
DUDE - thank you for the "They eat their wounded" quote. I had been looking for this movie for ever - Lost in Space from 1998 - and that it jolted my stupid brain into remembering.

That's a cool idea!
Your wife’s non reaction to anything at the end is the best. Love this format!
Also, the wait to see you dancing is really paying off this season!
dude loving this series, its a delightful little watch
Whenever I need something stiff to poke at things without scratching them, I use a cuticle stick (aka orange wood stick). They're about the girth of a corn dog stick, and have a wedgie end and a pointy end.
My cats are Ráme (fluffy orange tabby) and Louma (fluffy & black). I call them "Gingerbuddy" and "Shadowfluff".
Can confirm: Everyone at the Roseville Post Office is always angry.
I'm so glad you found Fusion 360, it is the perfect program for plinthing around.
Loving this series - great work Scott!

A true return to form haha reminds me of when youtube was only vlogs and I miss those times!!
You have no idea how happy I was to see that I'm not the only one who walks away from failed prints, then comes back to clean them up weeks later.
LOL. I walked away from the video to check my 3D printer because I kept hearing a weird noise, it was just the wind blowing through a small opening in my backroom window. That free-hand banner is hella crisp, love the use of bats as a gradient 👌
Wow. Thats some sick freehanding!
Banners like this look GREAT, but I always wonder about banners like this in any sort of reality... Could you weave such a thing? Patchwork it like a quilt? Just paint it on the cloth?

Gotham is our Frenchie... we call him Gotham, the Prince, our son, the only son we'll ever have, the glue that holds the family together....
"They eat their wounded" generated audible laughter from me. Which was bad because it's 2am and my family are prone to murder if woken. Thanks Scott >:(
Seriously, loving this series.
We have the same printer. have you considered changing the light array underneath so you can have a 4k screen?
Link my with a guide
It's a bit of work, but if you can get the parts cheap or free, like i did, it's totally worth it
I know that these videos must be tiring, but if you did these for a month, or even longer, I would watch every single one. Guaranteed
Maggie Moo, Maggers, Maggie Mumu, Mags, Silly Girl, Goofy Girl, and of course her sidekick, Henry Fu, Foo Dog, Dingy Dog, Macho Duck, Dingbat.
