Fish patty from Tanioka's is my fav, okinawan sweet potato with haupia bars, Suman dessert, shiso musubi, cone sushi, sesame korean style tako poke, fried chicken. I'll have to try the swt pot haupia dessert from Yama's per your recommendation. 😋

Excellent video guys!!! Going to Taniokas, is a goal in my life. I've always heard how amazing that place is for high class poke and okazuya!! The prices are a little bit up there, but it's well worth it! Everything looks so fresh and yummy. I'm a big fried chicken guy, and that fried chicken from Taniokas, looked delicious!! I have never heard of Poke Nachos before. Man, that plate looked humungous!! When Amanda picked it up, I was just amazed at how huge it was!! Man, I'm telling you, it's beginning to be a ongoing theme that everytime I watch your videos, I become absolutely starving!!! If you like andagi, have you been to Teruya’s Andagi on Pensacola and Young? I like going there for cheap bentos. Their andagi is amazing, but their sweet potato mochi for me is the star. It’s so good.

Enjoying your video what I do to keep flies from invading my cook out is I use King Mosquito coils. Also they sell protective cover for coils, easy & inexpensive.
My gf was there on Friday too. She got her fix but I neva 😔. And yes, before my daughters soccer games, crunchy garlic poke is my go to. Always great watching your vids!!!
Good review of Tanioka's. Gotta try Poke on the Run. A place you may want to try since you guys like the local snacks in Wholesale Unlimited which is just Makai of Waikele Shopping Center.
You can get fresh fish at other places but Tanioka’s will not skim on the QUALITY of the ahi used in their poke. If you know your ahi, you’ll see the difference as soon as you eat it. The unexpected bonus when visiting them is that you can see that the employees are well trained and really wonderful. They are as a group, consistently the best that I come across. Thanks for waiting in line, just to show us what real poke is!

First time I went to Hawaii and Taniokas was 2 weeks ago and it was THE BEST POKE IVE HAD! The limu poke was my favorite too! So watching from Florida you’re making me so hungry! Also dreaming to go back to Oahu and bumping into you both would be so much fun! I literally watch every video of yours!
Darn it guys....now I need to go there soon too. Lol. I haven't been there in YEARS. I just went to Button Up cafe for the first time due to your recent reviews. They are so awesome. The Lady there was Super friendly and the braised Short ribs was very flavorful and SOFT!!
Amanda is right, Yama's sweet potato haupia dessert is da best. Whenever I come home, I wouldn't venture out to Waipahu to get something to eat. But you guys got me with the andagi at Tanioka's. I will have to try it out. My list is getting longer and longer for places to try. BTW, the tourists from the mainland probably wouldn't think that Waipahu is that far away from town. It's the locals that think even driving from Palolo to Kailua was far. Well, that's what my parents thought. I had to explain to them that I drove farther from my house to the BART station in order to go to work.

For those that don't speak local, Limu is a type of fresh seaweed. It's not dried like the Japanese seaweed called Nori that people are more familiar with from sushi. 😋🤙🏼
You guys are getting really good at this! It's obvious that you are all (including Yvonne) much more at ease in front of the camera so your personalities are shining. Glad you also mentioned Yama's. This was actually MY go to poke place when they were in Waipahu as I live on the west side. I was always afraid to go to Tanioka's because I don't want to wait in line. Yama's makes the best ahi limu poke, my favorite, because they use the THICK limu so it's really crunchy. Nowadays, I don't want to drive all the way to Moili'ili. Great job on this video!
@@AmandaFelixEats Oh don't get me wrong. I've been to Tanioka's but every time I go, there is a line so I avoid it nowadays. I just get lazy and go to Foodland, Times or Don Quijote which are surprisingly not bad since they use frozen fish.

I tried taniokas during COVID I had the Kalbi, garlic chicken and the poke I wasn’t impressed! Great video ! Watching your video makes me hungry.$$$$🤙🏾
Two suggestions: 1) try use a plastic table cloth (instead of fabric) and wipe it with 50/50 mix of water & Pine-Sol --- no moa flies! 2) make up some business cards (I make homemade kind on my printer on top some Avery business cards ) with your Channel info to pass out as you film --- create more traffic for your Channel!!! Just my thoughts... love your content from a homesick Island gal
Even though I’m a local boy, I’m still learning when it comes to poke. I feel like there’s way too many flavors. I usually do sashimi, which is more the unadulterated flavor. Watching this gives me ideas on what to try next.
I knew Tanioka's was on the A-list....I average x2 visits a month there (I'm only allowed two visits being that I average about a hundred bucks a visit) all worth-it for sure. I remember when they were located at the old Gems on the Ewa Side of Waipahu, in a small hole in the wall, they were a hit waaaay back then......And yet again you two have hit it outta the ball park!

Those gummies looked good too but I agree with Felix, I like some chew to my gummy candies. I heard the rooster calling, especially when you showed a close up of the fried chicken (lol!). Great video guys, this is what I need to visit next time we spend the summer in our condo in Ko Olina (beach villas). Need to eat like the locals (I'm Asian after all) as I did not fly all the way from Toronto to eat at the Cheesecake Factory though my wife (Canadian) and sons (aged 6 and 5) love it. Also can't justify spending $20 for a Saimin at Merrimans or $20 for a plain burger at Roy's as it is just pure highway robbery. Don't get me started with Aulani, we just do it for the kids as they want to see Mickey hahaha! By the way, Yvonne got fans! My Indian coworker thinks she cute. How is she related to you guys?

For those that don't speak local, Limu is a type of fresh seaweed. It's not dried like the Japanese seaweed called Nori that people are more familiar with from sushi. 😋🤙🏼

You guys are getting really good at this! It's obvious that you are all (including Yvonne) much more at ease in front of the camera so your personalities are shining. Glad you also mentioned Yama's. This was actually MY go to poke place when they were in Waipahu as I live on the west side. I was always afraid to go to Tanioka's because I don't want to wait in line. Yama's makes the best ahi limu poke, my favorite, because they use the THICK limu so it's really crunchy. Nowadays, I don't want to drive all the way to Moili'ili. Great job on this video!

@@AmandaFelixEats Oh don't get me wrong. I've been to Tanioka's but every time I go, there is a line so I avoid it nowadays. I just get lazy and go to Foodland, Times or Don Quijote which are surprisingly not bad since they use frozen fish.

Two suggestions:
1) try use a plastic table cloth (instead of fabric) and wipe it with 50/50 mix of water & Pine-Sol --- no moa flies!
2) make up some business cards (I make homemade kind on my printer on top some Avery business cards ) with your Channel info to pass out as you film --- create more traffic for your Channel!!!

Even though I’m a local boy, I’m still learning when it comes to poke. I feel like there’s way too many flavors. I usually do sashimi, which is more the unadulterated flavor. Watching this gives me ideas on what to try next.

I knew Tanioka's was on the A-list....I average x2 visits a month there (I'm only allowed two visits being that I average about a hundred bucks a visit) all worth-it for sure. I remember when they were located at the old Gems on the Ewa Side of Waipahu, in a small hole in the wall, they were a hit waaaay back then......And yet again you two have hit it outta the ball park!

Aloha Amanda & Felix! Those desserts looked awesome (strawberry andagi and taro mochi and ube haupia dessert). Those gummies looked good too but I agree with Felix, I like some chew to my gummy candies. I heard the rooster calling, especially when you showed a close up of the fried chicken (lol!). I need to check out an okazuya when I'm out there next, the food looks so ono! Thank you Evonne for helping wave away the flies :)

Great video guys, this is what I need to visit next time we spend the summer in our condo in Ko Olina (beach villas). Need to eat like the locals (I'm Asian after all) as I did not fly all the way from Toronto to eat at the Cheesecake Factory though my wife (Canadian) and sons (aged 6 and 5) love it. Also can't justify spending $20 for a Saimin at Merrimans or $20 for a plain burger at Roy's as it is just pure highway robbery. Don't get me started with Aulani, we just do it for the kids as they want to see Mickey hahaha!
By the way, Yvonne got fans! My Indian coworker thinks she cute. How is she related to you guys?
