Hey man sweet rig. I have a 1751 f86 with the hdr 40 and just changed props to the big blade for hunting season. I have the raptor 3 blade and with just me in the boat it runs 31-32 mph at about 4200-4300 rpms. Now with that being said my boat is shorter than yours and probably a little lighter. Play around with weight in the boat, trim and rpm range and see what you get. Buddy of mine has one just like that with a boss drive that has had a bunch of motor work done on it and he said (I don't know for a fact) that he can run 34-35 mph. So good luck and again awesome rig.

My 35 mudbuddy lev 3 on my 18x54 gator trax (actual measurement is 20’x 54”) it’s a .190 thick hull and I’m getting 30 with two man hunt load. Running stock hammer prop.

I have a prodigy 1848 . A GTR xd with a delta level 3 build. A merc 3 blade worked i can get about 35 with just me in the boat. I have a stock hammer prop and I run 29. But it's more durable and better hole shots than the 3 blade. But a lot more vibration. For deep water I'll take the 3 blade all day long. Both props spinning 4700-4800 rpms

I have a 2013 Sport V 5500 on a 1851 F86 and get about the same speeds running a big blade as are getting in this video. I am no expert but I don't think that your speeds are all that low. The greatest benefit to the extra HP your motor has is pushing a big load during hunting season. Nice rig!

You want to go fast out a 90hp outboard in it. I’d say 28-30 mph is really well with a boat that heavy.

One thing I’ve learned since running a mud boat if your trying to chase speeds people are posting online it’s a waist of time half the ppl online lie about what there’s boat actually runs just cause they hit 33 one time going down river with the wind at there back and there app taps 33 for a split second they tell you there boat runs that lol

Try a Boat Doctor 2 blade that is a Big Blade but the size of a Hammer.

Delta level 3 and a hammer prop with Voodoo muffler. That is what I run on a heavy ass excel 1854 F86. I push 33 mph solo. Biggest factor is maintaining speed with a hunt load and that is what the delta mods get you.

For starters that 3 blade is a raptor, not a merc. A merc would run in the 30’s. You need an 11 or 12 pitch big blade on that 5000. My 4500 had an 11.5p big blade and ran 35mph

I’ve tried running it deeper in the water and of course that’s wrong.

Me personally i dont think a mud buddy 5000 makes 50hp.... You have a heavy boat. I think your speeds are right in line. With nothing in that boat... u should be able to turn 4700 rpm. If you are turning 4500 with 2 people the pitch is about right. The rev limit is 4750 if i remember right.

Over 35 mph for a boat that heavy? Won’t be able to do that stock. Play with your trim and RPM. Also surface drives are super weight sensitive. Try putting weight upfront, back, and middle. It’s crazy how much that effects speed.

Moving a couple bags of decoys around in my 1850 phowler changed my speed 2-3mph it’s crazy. These are long lines with 5lbs weights and foam filled dekes so the bags are heavy though

Thanks for the information. Do you have a 50 or 40hp? I met a guy that had a gator tail 40hp, same boat as me, he said he was getting 27-28mph. So I called mud buddy to see if they thought I was getting low speeds. (28-29mph) they didn't have a straight answer for me.
