Oh yeah baby! Love it love it love it! 😍 Such a sweet looking car and an easy build but I reckon that on the right surface, this thing is going to ROCK! Looking forward to the bodywork! Great video as always, Fil! 😎👊👍
I built one of the original of these it had an amazing twin deck carbon fibre chassis and full bearings ran a tamiya black can motor and it was fast . Cornered like it was on rails with the banded foam front tyres wish I still had it
This made great company for my Saturday morning coffee. How about a parking lot track shoutout vs some touring cars like the BT01/TT02/Fazer? Lap times are always exciting!
Wonderful! That's my goal, pal. Saturday morning cartoons for adults. 😅 I'm thinking the same thing. Just need the weather to cooperate now, as we're getting into the rainy season. 😢
I love my group c cars. I was brought up watching them with my dad. We supported Jaguar and travelled to a lot of races. I do wish they had gone with the 962 rather than 956 to differentiate it from the 1/12 version. Anyway the group c cars are beautiful. Nice Canon Porsche pic…
ok..we all know how sick it'll look when it's done, but..maybe put it beside other Tamiya Porsche builds like the jagermister..i know i spelled that wrong, and or other models of porsche's that they came out with and have them all line up in all their paint and livery! now..that would be and neat idea. can't wait to see it all done and running! and at least the tape is forgiving for the tires at the moment and it's not glued to the rim. cheers! be excellent bud.
Oh yeah this is way nicer I'll probably get mine early next year. So i'll just stare at my old C-car's for now :) I have a Jaaaag, F40, Nissan Z and 2 C11 both new and old one
I started mine last night and it did not take long at all to get most of the way through the chassis build. I have a little more to do this evening and then onto painting. Odd about the front wheels, I have not gotten that far yet. The only other I have done like this is the Tyrrell 6-wheeler and f course those front tires were a lot different! LOL! I was surprised to see the size of the body though, it is big!
It's humongous! It's also my first Porsche 956, so I suppose it's fitting that the chassis would have a large body. It just shocked me when I saw it. 😅

956 will be looking really awesome. I have two group C chasses, with 787B and C11 bodies. They are also looking cool☺ and big as Fil felt!! However, not only the looks but they are really fast. I think we can try this baby for the next year speed challenge. Sure it is RWD but with length wheel base, it is capable of running straight with superior stability!!
Haha. Love it. RACING is actually legit, that use that now for legend under the official umbrella, but I guess most won't stick with that. Word has it some guy is also making some add-ons to make it even betterererer. Front tyres, yep. The Tamiya F104 rear sponges are 30mm though so will fill the rim width.
@@poorboysrc Needabiggershed is making fancy detail kits voor de c11 and this one. Haven't received my 956 but i will be ordering some nice upgrade kits for sure
Great kit Fil,look forward to seeing how that thing drives!! Bummer about the decals,I wish they would leave our motoring history alone. Besides,Rothmans were ghastly anyway ......B&H were much nicer!😂 👍 👍
Not much of a on road lover its all about the off road stuff but this bad boy is friggin awesome! No spare cash sadly but definitely fancy one of these! Great vid Fil mate!
Great build Fil. I think most (if not all ?) of Tamiya Group C have the front rims wider than front tires. I'm curious to see the handling with a Sport Tuned on a normal parking lot 😅. While I agree it's a very easy chassis to build, the body / stickers will be a challenge for a "beginner". Still no show in beautiful Switzerland 😢
It is also the case on my Road Wizards and F103 F1 cars that the tyres are smaller than the wheels so a regular Tamiya thing going back to at least 1986
@@poorboysrc yeah it is weird that they have carried on with it but at least on this unlike the F1 cars it is covered, but is just a Tamiya oddity I guess
I just ordered one of these. I also have the Kyosho Plasma version of this which is no longer made. I just realized that Tamtec made this car too, but a long time ago. I have that one too. Thoughts?
@BasBoyRC hahaha, I can see the image on the box now. A 40-60 year old man in torn up clothing, homeless as a result of spending all his $$$ on Tamiya's. 🤣🤣🤣

Front tires (foams) are from the F1 front wheels, That's why they look funny on the Group C front wheels but Phil has them right.
First! One of my favorites! Such a gorgeous speed run shell. Only if someone was brilliant enough to have used it.🤔
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Front wheels and tyres are correct, It uses the same foam tyres as the F1 cars.
So bizarre that the wheel is wider than the tire. 🤦♂️
looks so epic

Click on one of the many affiliate links in the description box beneath this video. Find the transmitter of your choice, and that's it. 😊
Just built mine last week the steering is sloppy so much play. Servo saver wiggles and the links attached to it is loose

What's the width of this 956…???
I thought the original 956 was 12th scale...
I have questions if it is pan car width....
The original was a 12th scale. Tamiya enlarged the body to fit a 10th scale C-Car
