    The BTB is the greatest bass ever. So versatile and so heavy. I have a midprice range one with Bartolinis. Best bass I've ever owned.

      Man , you guys need to play a sr 5005 Prestige, the top of the line, then you'd change your minds, I have owned a sr 1405 , 805 cerro, BTBs, they don't compare to the Prestige series

      yeah.. Great bass.. my one (the 5str SC) bought me, not the other way round.. I was trying other basses in Peach Guitars Colchester and this thing kept eyeing me out: "Well, you've tried all these other basses, but not me.. C'mon I dare you.." I did, and my guitarist friend were instantly blown away! He, in typical Englisness said: "So that's it then.." haha yes.. Combined now with DR Hi Beams it's unstoppable! Thank you Ibanez! :D

    I have an SR505 and I love the rock sound it gives over standard jazz basses. I was considering adding a BTB but wasn't sure what it sounded like because you just can't find them used. that might be an indicator of quality and happy customers.

    You can really get a nice mix of tones. You can go from a classic P bass to a music Man Stingray tone and evern through some Fodera. Impressive. Really clear low B.

    I have the 6 string version and can confirms it is everything and more you can want in a bass . High end wood , flame maple top , with a modern sounding maple / walnut neck , the pickups sound fat and can get gritty with 2 small adjustments , 24 frets . It's a dream . I will be getting more BTBs for sure

    I bought one of these in 2007 with Bartolini humbuckers in them. Its my only expensive bass and its amazing for recording sessions or sitting down gigs, but I cannot for the life of me get thru a 4 hour standing gig with one of these on. They are heavy...and the long scale doesnt lend itself to faster runs, especially in the lower postions. Amazing basses though. Tight, articulate lows with zingy highs and nice mids...

    I have a BTB1605 and for the price it cannot be beat.. I've had it for 3 years and it has never failed me once.. call it sacrilege, but after playing the new ibanez basses, you will never EVER get me to fork out the ridiculous amount of money that some other boutique basses cost *cough* *cough* (fodera, zon, f-bass, etc.) ... only exception would be Ritter or Wal, maybe Spector.. but right now, ibanez is really putting alot of other brands to shame IMO

      @@alexromano9568 Sure. The old ones were great, but the pickups weren't so much. The new ones sound better. The sound was always my gripe (used to own one with the MK2s). Not that it sounded bad, it just wasn't for me. The new pickups have a more traditional tone, hence they can fit easily into more styles of music.

    They look pretty cool, I actually like how they present. But as for the sound - nah! I'd still prefer BTBs with humbuckers. As for this model it might be considered as something kind of sounding like jazz bass but only a bit. It has an unpleasant high midrange. I cannot put my finger on it.

    I am used to play a EBMM Bongo HH6 stealth black and Fodera emperor II 6 strings. It happened to me to show somewhere and Have to play because the bass player didn't not show up. After 1 music playing an Ibanez in this style my wrist was hurting badly. The sound was not that good either...

    • @davidmorneau5260
      @davidmorneau5260 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dude you are everywhere to discredit every others basses brand and praise your Bongo. I own two of these too and the bass do have a lot of problems. Because of the radius and the non soapbar that do mot match the radius of the neck gives you an important unbalance for the B string and High C. They sound too rounded because of the radius plus with the limitation of the saddles. When you play with an EBMM you have to enjoy a lot of fretbuzz too (trademark sound from EBMM). For soloing, the Bongo is definitely not my first choice and the intonation may have some problems because of the reliabilty of the bridge but, the main problem with EBMM and the Bongo its the low B. Too boomy, muddy with lack of substain. Ive own 2 bongos (HH and HS configuration) and both had these problems.

    Not sure what Ibanez is thinking this finish should represent. I saw a product demo where a sales rep spoke about a soft relic finish. To me this looks like failure and I would not spend a € on such a poor paintjob.

    I have been looking at a bass like this. This Ibanez series might sound quite mighty but the manufacturing quality and detail in the bodywork is so tremendously ugly that i would not even want to pay half price for them. When watching closely you can see in the video that even wood layers dont interconnect evenly. They used a dark wood between the top and main layer of the body. This dark wood should make a nice sharp line but in fact its a very bubbely line that looks like shit.. for a 899 euro bass its really a shame. A 300 euro bass from no brand china has better detail to this in many cases. Take a look at their Cort A5. You wont see ugly laminated bodyparts there.. of a wrinckled laquer.. sound is good too.
