  • In this video we start at the beautiful Scarborough Harbour in Qld Australia and travel 14km to Deception Bay. We travel through a variety of scenery along the Scarborough foreshore , through some streets, beside the scenic canals until we get to Newport. From there we follow the dedicated bikeways, with housing on one side, and bushland on the other. We saw a beautiful stretch of tall trees, with views out to the bay. The path skirted one of the wetland areas, before we entered into Deception Bay. So many beautiful park areas, where they have left the big trees. The tide was out, leaving a shimmering glimpse of water and sand. Very beautiful views as we continued along the foreshore, before finding a cafe to have our morning tea.
    We were joined by Rick, our new riding companion, who formerly rode racing bikes. He is now discovering the joy of riding a recumbent trike, and is loving every moment. Come along and join us for the ride.

      Thanks I am glad you are enjoying the videos. 😊we are using Rode microphones. Some videos you won’t hear from James if he is having COPD issues which effect his breathing. I enjoy when he has some input. Trike on in Northern California!

      Thankyou, yes a lot of work. Ahh the audio.....Finally worked out I had to re pair the new microphone( the one Rode sent to replace the lost one) with the base to get it to work, and worked out how to not accidently mute one microphone. 🤪 Now the system works with two voices coming through on the one video camera. Very cool! James does not always want to talk as some days he is not feeling 100%. I like when he does though. Also tweaked the go pro 9 to get rid of the graininess and be able to shoot in 2.7k with 30fps. Glad you enjoyed the video.

    You certainly have some great rides up there. This video also showed some issues relating to riding with a trailer - interesting. I watched yours after watching a German couple towing "camper trailers" behind their bikes and getting stuck, unable to negotiate the "keep out" bars at the end of tracks. I have thought about a trailer but there would be issues on the Spirit (of Tasmania ferry) and the "furniture" along the tracks so I think I will stick with panniers. Also - this should keep down weight of camping gear!
    Today I set-up my Veltop on the trike as the UV is starting to rise; unfortunately so is the wind !! One day soon I will use it in earnest. All the best - Tony

      The trailer really does not create too many issues. I probably could have got up there, After watching the video footage, but I was relying on James’s advice plus I was just a bit lazy. 🤣 The trailer is not much wider than my trike so if the trike fits through the trailer usually does as well. Most of the time I forget it is there, except for the excited canine tourist in the back. 🐶😆It tows really well. Hopefully you will get the benefit of your Veltop soon. We will be putting ours back on soon.

    I see on the map that the bicycle trail continues further north from the Zesty Lemon Cafe. Did you go all the way to the dog beach?

    How do you all communicate when riding just curious

    • @downunderrecumbenttrikeven6967
      @downunderrecumbenttrikeven6967  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      James and I have motorcycle intercoms attached to our helmets. Rick is travelling closer to James so usually relays a message if needed. We also,have an agreed communication, if one needs to stop to ring their horn as opposed to a bell. I also have done a video on my channel re the motorcycle intercoms.
