    This is still insane. Catching a rocket moving at half orbit speed, figuring out parabola, slowing rocket down with own engines to land on a drone in the middle of the ocean, and then landing it face up back on it own feet. The engineering behind this is mesmerizing when you try to do it in your head.

    • @valamaas
      @valamaas 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It blows me away that the landing engine can only be on or off, so determining when to on for a perfect landing... Again, mind blown.

    • @AsaSpadeSS
      @AsaSpadeSS 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It is insane but they did all the math first. It seems crazier because you dont see the process. This is literally the end of the equation that has already been figured out. They dont need to catch the rocket or calculate parabola, they're telling it where to go and the calculation was completed before take off.

    That daylight liftoff camera look from Vandenberg is amazing in the rapidity which the coast shrinks from view as the ascent gains velocity. This is one of my favorite launch videos for the view of the Pacific Coast in retreat. Breathtaking to imagine being on top of that lit candle heading to LEO.

    Again a beautiful launch & booster landing. I don’t know low long it will take to get old. I’ve seen a lot of new technology in my time here & I hope I can hold out long enough to see the beginning of the colorization of mars..

I think it's safe to say we all realized there's nothing normal about any of this. So we paid attention afterwards. I grant you, it does get to be as you said, 'same old same old.' Question: At 4:06 (3:58 on center clock) a very small object suddenly appears on the left screen and slowly moves up the screen until it finally goes off screen at 4:54 (4:46 on center clock). It is to the right of the left grid fin and about half the width of the grid fin. Any idea what this might be? The booster rocket is at 116k and falling at 7100kph therefore the object is both too low AND too slow to be in orbit so that eliminates it being a satellite.
    Just curious if anyone might know. Thanks.
