@@MandyCaneLane 🤔 Well, if you bought two tickets to one of his shows & invited me, I'd definitely go ! 😉 but if I was offered one ticket for free, I probably wouldn't be interested 😂 ... he does a lot of TV game shows, so if I don't like what he's doing I don't watch, sooo I suppose I only see what I'm interested in or what makes me laugh ... I don't want him cancelled just because he does stuff I'm not keen on ... ( hope that makes sense 😂!) ... loving your videos

Michael is arguably the most successful comedian in England, which is an accomplishment considering he’s also the most divisive, it’s like the population is split 50/50 between people that find him funny and people who think he’s terrible
His father, Ray Cameron, was also a comedian, there’s only one clip of him online, which is unfortunate because Cameron was absolutely hilarious

So, here Michael is in the hospital, with his butt hanging out, & his son says, "Pants down, you're the loser." (The last line you had difficulty hearing)

He's ok, my family love him but he doesn't do an awful lot for me, probably doesn't help that one of my favourite comics (Stewart Lee) always takes the mickey out of him saying he's rubbish because his jokes are written for him etc. So that makes me a little biased, and it's healthy to have a few comics you dislike, right? 🤣
Of course it is healthy!!!! I don't have a proper opinion on him yet as this is all I have seen. I can understand people not liking him though.. but there are comedians I can't stand! Anyway this bit was funny!

Michael is the king of 'light standup' which comes from the term light entertainment. It's not cutting, it's not edgy and it's not usually (or heavily) political, his the safe bet standup and sells out millions of tickets on tours for this reason.
Right, I get that. More interested in being famous than being real and funny I guess.. 🤷🏻♀️
@@MandyCaneLane Humour is so subjective, I don't think it's fair on him to say he isn't interested in being funny. It's more the case that his brand of humour by personal choice or by design is 'light' and therefor has mass appeal. I don't think there is anything wrong with that persay, and nothing wrong with watching some of his stuff on youtube and laughing. I personally wouldn't buy a ticket for his shows however, but that's because humour is subjective. (full circle :P)
@@RavenZahadoom When he was on the big fat quiz, his humor was a slight bit more adult. I think he can do that stuff if he wants but takes it out so that it can be viewed by a wider audience.

Not weird at all Adam! I can see what some people are commenting about him. To me this clip was funny and I have no further opinion.. 🤭 And stand up is usually quite fast paced and requires a lot of attention as many jokes relate to previous ones, understandable that some people struggle. 🤗

The first time I went to the dentist I had a tooth taken out. Before that I was browsing the books and magazine table. They had the most mixed bag of things to read. From "The Little Caterpillar" to "Hardware used in patio construction" to "My wife cheated on me with the next door neighbour and I thought the neighbour had a good night." Also, the TV show on was Banana's in Pyjamas... Which was removed from public broadcast because apparent two brothers in the same bed is not good for kids to watched. What?! These are children watching. They don't know about how people have sexual references. These are simple costumed people in banana suits that talk and entertain toddlers. Nothing to do with innuendoes.
Quite a dentist experience contemplating all that while having my tooth taken out and the rest cleaned.

Lee Evans is now retired but if you ask any British person to name there 3 favourite Stand ups each person would mention Lee Evans. The Animation and the Energy is just on another Level. Any Clip would do.

McIntyre is another Peter Kay: The masses love him, fellow comedians do not. They do so much of other people's material, they are basically cover acts.

Not at all. He was known in backstage comedy circles as The Gagpie for his Magpie like habit of stealing jokes. He ended up getting very big based on some other people's routines and funnily enough a sitcom that he directly ripped off from Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer. The public generally aren't aware of his history and his brand of "Family Friendly Northerner" invoking nostalgia for the 1970s, tends to sell well so he does have a very large fanbase. That fanbase is usually relatively limited in what stand up they have experienced, often limited to primetime TV type stuff and have Kay, McIntyre and Lee Evans (No particular order) as their top 3 comedians of all time which is.. Well, we know what that is.
They do have some supporters among the more experienced fans of standup to be fair. Also, I can respect the focus they brought to standup in the public eye and there is no denying their success but when you view standup as an artform rather than just a piece of entertainment, certain performers have been given, let's call it "Undue prominence" at the expense of others.
At least those 3 are able to write their own stuff too. Between all the joke stealing and the ghostwriting, it's actually horrifically common for some of the bigger "light entertainment" comedians to be reciting scripts that they haven't contributed a single joke to.

@@BunniMonster You cannot deny their outstanding delivery and presence on stage, that's why the ghost writers aren't up there themselves. Also children deserve to watch funny standup too, it's not exclusively for adults. A country needs top quality family friendly standup comics.

Pants down you're the loser is a reference to a story he told earlier in the show about a game he plays with his sons. That's the problem with some of these shortened clips from shows, things are sometimes out of context so if you haven't seen the full thing, it's confusing.

That's the difference between UK and US comics I think.
English comics like to tell a story.
American comics don't.
